MGK Gifts His Daughter Casie a New Car at MGK Day: ‘Don't Drive Like Me'

Yahooa day ago
Some people's dream car is a Lamborghini, others may want a Maybach, but MGK's daughter, Casie Baker, had her eye on an Acura.
MGK Day in Cleveland wasn't just all about the artist (formerly known as Machine Gun Kelly) on Sunday (Aug. 10), as Kells surprised Casie with her dream car, an Acura TLX, just a couple of weeks after celebrating her 16th birthday in July.

Footage of the heartwarming moment went viral on social media, while Casie seemed genuinely surprised at the gift when the black car rolled up with a red bow on it, as she jumped into her dad's arms.
Before she hopped behind the driver's seat, MGK had one special rule for Casie to follow: Don't drive like the musician.
'What's the No. 1 rule?' he asked, to which Casie swiftly replied, 'Don't drive like your dad.' MGK nodded in approval and said, 'Exactly — don't drive like me.' All that's left for Casie is to pass her upcoming driving test to secure a license.
But the teen wasn't the only member of the family to receive a surprise on Sunday. At halftime of the Celebrity Shootout basketball game, MGK was presented with a guitar featuring a portrait his face that will forever live in the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
It was yet another epic MGK Day weekend for the multi-genre artist and his fans. MGK capped off the memorable weekend with a headlining performance on the Mall C lawn, debuting tracks from his new album, Lost Americana, for the attendance.
Lost Americana arrived on Aug. 8, as MGK looks to make it three consecutive No. 1 albums atop the Billboard 200.

Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce set podcast records together with 'New Heights' appearance

Taylor Swift's podcast debut was a smash hit. The music superstar's appearance on "New Heights" alongside boyfriend and Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce and brother Jason Kelce set records for viewership. Wednesday's podcast set a record on YouTube for concurrent viewers - the number of individual people watching a live stream at the same time - with a peak of 1.3 million. As of Friday evening, the episode has surpassed 15 million views. The live stream crashed nearly two hours in with more than 1 million people watching as she answered more questions about her 12th album "The Life of a Showgirl." She revealed the album art on the podcast and went into detail with the Kelce brothers about what went into the album as well as featured guest artists. DATE NIGHTS: Travis Kelce finally posts Taylor Swift photos on Instagram Per Front Office Sports, people are catching parts of the episode on other platforms, too. Clips from the show have totaled more than 61 million views on X, 34.5 million on TikTok and 379 million on Instagram. The "New Heights" YouTube channel has also seen more than 400,000 new subscribers since the episode went live. The show's Instagram page surpassed 3 million followers as well. Swift's appearance with the Kelce brothers on "New Heights," was initially teased on Monday, Aug. 11, with a promo announcing Swift's new album. The "New Heights" podcast moved up to No. 1 on the Apple podcast charts before the episode became available. Swift, in a subsequent clip released in the lead-up to the episode's debut, also poked fun at "male sports fans" for showing up on the Kelces' podcast given the reception she has received at times for her appearances at Chiefs games. "I think we all know that if there's one thing that male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens, it's more of me," Swift joked. Swift and Travis Kelce have been dating for the past two years and the couple remain a pop culture fascination ahead of the 2025 NFL season. Kelce's celebrity and the podcast he co-hosts with his brother has, in turn, skyrocketed in popularity. "New Heights" is reportedly worth $100 million after being licensed by Wonderly last year. Kelce admitted in a recent GQ cover story that his forays into Hollywood and entertainment might have played a role in why his production "slipped" the past two seasons. He had a cameo role in "Happy Gilmore 2" and one season as host of Amazon Prime Video's game show, "Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?" Swift, Kelce said, is more aligned with his goal of a bounce back year and another Super Bowl title with the Chiefs. Jason Kelce even introduced Swift to the "New Heights" audience as having won one Super Bowl alongside his younger brother. "I sort of made her a football fan," Travis Kelce told GQ. "She is the most engulfed fan now. She knows what the injury reports look like. She understands what special situations are, third and short – all these things because she just naturally loves to hear about my job."

6 Taylor Swift Super Bowl halftime show Easter eggs from 'New Heights'

WHOA. Taylor Swift -- in true Taylor Swift fashion -- may have dropped some hints on her amazing New Heights podcast appearance about a certain Super Bowl halftime show next year. Now, we can't confirm this is really the case yet. Usually, the Super Bowl halftime show performer is announced in September, so we'll have to wait until then to hear if this is official. But knowing Swift, she doesn't just drop certain numbers and factoids without there being a whole mess of fans who connect the dots and declare that there's some secret she's trying to share. And that's what's happened here. We're here to clue you in as we wonder: Is Swift just teasing us or is she really, actually, maybe doing the Super Bowl 60 halftime show? Let's run through the clues, which were summed up by various folks online including in TikTok videos. 1. The sourdough shoutouts were a clue about the San Francisco 49ers' stadium Among all that sourdough bread talk and puns might have been a clue. The Niners' mascot is... SOURDOUGH SAM! And where is the Super Bowl being played in February 2026? YEP IN THE NINERS' STADIUM! 2. Taylor Swift used the number 47 in the episode She thanked Jason Kelce for screaming in the intro for 47 seconds. There were other references. Her favorite number is 13 -- and before you scream "TAKE OFF YOUR TIN FOIL HAT BUDDY!" remember that she talked a lot about numerology in the episode -- and 47 + 13 = 60. Which Super Bowl is it next year? That would be... SUPER BOWL 60!! 3. Let's talk about 47 again Her 47th stop on the Eras Tour was... Levi's Stadium, where Super Bowl 60 will be played!!! 4. Back to the number 60 She said she thinks about bread "60 percent of the time." HMMM. 5. The Niners posted this suspicious TikTok Could be something. Could be nothing. 6. Levi's posted an intriguing TikTok Could also be something.

Chiefs in their Taylor Swift era: Owner says majority of fans are women

Who knew that the beginning of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour would kick off another new era in a totally different part of American culture? Since she made her first appearance at a Kansas City Chiefs game nearly two years ago, the team has been reaping the benefits of its own Taylor Swift era. Chiefs principal owner Clark Hunt joined the Pat McAfee Show on Friday, Aug. 15, and spoke on the effects that Swift's relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce have had on the team. "It's been a whirlwind for the organization over the last two years since Taylor literally stepped into our lives," Hunt said. "She's done an amazing job, unintentionally, of increasing our female fanbase. We used to be about a 50/50 ratio, male to female fanbase, and now 57% of our fans are female, which I think is probably the highest in the National Football League. "So there's absolutely been a Taylor Swift effect." HOW TRAVIS KELCE MET TAYLOR SWIFT: Friendship bracelets and 'Cupid' The Chiefs' Swiftie era can trace its roots back to the pop superstar's concert at Arrowhead Stadium in July 2023, with two concerts making up one of the earliest stops on her 149-show Eras Tour. Weeks after the tour stop in Kansas City, Kelce lamented on his and his brother's "New Heights" podcast that he wasn't able to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it. Roughly two months later, Swift was spotted on the broadcast cheering on Kelce from a suite at her first Chiefs game. (Hunt said Friday she insisted on getting a "normal fan" experience at that first game with no additional security – "she literally walked through the front door," he said. With fans largely expecting her to attend the Chiefs' home games, she has received heightened security from the team in the time since.) NANCY ARMOUR: Keep whining, insecure men. Taylor Swift isn't even thinking about you. According to analysis by marketing firm Apex Marketing, from September 2023 – when Swift attended that first game – through this past February – the date of the most recent Super Bowl – Swift brought in nearly $1 billion worth of publicity to the NFL. Swift's connection to the Chiefs means that Kansas City has undoubtedly gotten one of the largest pieces of that metaphorical pie – and the demographic shift that Hunt pointed out Friday certainly suggests that. To that end, Kelce's jersey sales spiked 400% overnight after Swift's first appearance at a Chiefs game, according to Fanatics, and Kelce, Swift and the Chiefs have not looked back in the time since that first outing. The singer has attended 23 Chiefs games – including five playoff games and two Super Bowls – since the two began their relationship. On Wednesday, Swift made her first-ever podcast appearance on "New Heights" and spoke about her relationship with Kelce and her experience as a new Chiefs fan. The episode had a record-setting 1.3 million concurrent viewers during its YouTube premiere and now has 15 million views (and counting) on the video streaming site as of Friday afternoon.
