Lanarkshire ASN group in bid to take over daycare centre
The stay and play group, which supports children and young people with ASN, hopes to take over the former St Andrews Day Centre on St Andrew's Drive in the town.
The charity has proposed taking over the building on a 25-year lease at a rate of £2 per month in rent.
According to documents, ASNsory Crew aims to provide a permanent, safe, inclusive, and accessible environment for youngsters aged two to 16 to play and socialise whilst also offering support and connection for parents and carers.

The group is based in Blantyre and supports young people with disabilities and ASN from South Lanarkshire and beyond.
They deliver a range of activities such as inclusive play sessions, peer support for parents and carers, community building and family support.
The team say they want to increase access to inclusive play opportunities for children with disabilities.
Additionally, documents state that the charity would provide monthly support sessions for at least 20 families, offering education, community, and emotional support.

If the CAT request is approved, ASNsory Crew propose making various changes and developments to the centre.
These include reconfiguration of the internal layout, conversion of a surplus toilet area, and secure use of an outdoor space.
Several letters from MSPs, MPs, and members of the public have been submitted in support of the request.
A date for the local authority to make a decision has not yet been set.

Tributes for 'one of a kind chef' after unexpected death
Allan Grant was the head chef at the Dalmuir Café in Clydebank for several months before his recent passing. During that time, the 37-year-old became a much-loved member of the team at the Lennox Place eatery. The café announced the sad news on Saturday, August 2, stating the team was 'absolutely heartbroken'. A statement published to the café's Facebook page reads: 'It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our head chef Allan. 'As a team, we're absolutely heartbroken. Aldo wasn't only the head chef but also an amazing friend to everyone who worked in the café. 'In the few months he was with us, he created such an impact from his skills as a chef to just lifting the place up with his energy. 'Even on the busiest days, it was still a laugh. You were one of a kind, and we will never forget you. Rest in peace, chef.'
