This True Crime Documentary Just Knocked Squid Game Off The Top Spot On Netflix UK

Yahoo23-07-2025
Following weeks at the top of Netflix UK, Squid Game season 3 has officially been toppled off the streamer's top spot for most popular show.
The hit Korean drama returned for its third and final season on June 27, bringing creator-director Hwang Dong-hyuk's overnight phenomenon to an epic end.
The dystopian thriller, which debuted in 2021, revolves around a secret contest in which 456 cash-strapped players compete in a series of children's games for a multimillion-dollar prize — however, the stakes are deadly.
The final series culminated in a bloody conclusion to the games, while leaving the door open for potential spin-offs.
However, at the time of writing, it's now slipped down to position number three. The question is… what two shows managed to best it?
The new number one show in the UK on Netflix a new three-part docuseries which investigates the case of missing 23 year old Amy Bradley, who vanished on a Caribbean cruise with her family in March 1998.
The twist-filled 3 documentary mystery explores the theories still surrounding the case over 20 years later – and her family's desperate search for the truth.

Meanwhile, second place on Netflix UK's top shows has been taken by new original limited series Untamed.
Starring Eric Bana as a federal agent, the show follows his character's exploration of lawless national park terrain to hunt for a woman's killer. However, his investigation into her murder unearths dark secrets within the park, including his own – OOOOOOOH.
The mystery thriller also stars Sam Neill, Rosemarie DeWitt, Lily Santiago and Wilson Bethel – all six episodes began streaming July 17, and judging from its current second place position on Netflix, it's proven to be popular.

This Video Of Mariah Carey Finding Out That Katy Perry Went To Space Is The Funniest Thing I've Seen All Week, And You Need To Watch It

Back in April, Katy Perry and five others took a 10-minute trip to space thanks to Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin aerospace company, and it was basically all anyone talked about for about a week. Maybe even two. Blue Origin / Via Gilbert Flores / Getty Images Between the backlash and memes, the interviews and think-pieces, it's almost impossible to imagine that anyone with access to the internet could've missed the news. Which brings us to the one and only, Mariah Carey. Related: In a new interview with the BBC, radio host Scott Mills asked Mariah if she could ever see herself following in Katy's footsteps — only to very quickly realize she had no idea what he was talking about. Even with her big black shades on, the confusion on Mariah's face was evident. 'Did she go to space?' she said. Related: Mariah has a reputation for leaning into a bit every now and then if she's feeling shady; however, in this instance, she appeared genuinely baffled as she dug for answers: 'Where'd she go?!' she asked, looking around the room. Someone off camera chimed in to give Mariah the context that she needed — i.e., that Katy's space mission was rather brief — and the music icon was even more intrigued. 'Into orbit and back? She's like, floating in the…,' she said. 'And this is true?' BBC / Via Related: When Scott clarified that he was, in fact, not making it up, Mariah expressed her admiration, while also seeming totally unbothered by the whole thing, which is a skill in itself. 'Wow, alright Katy,' she said, totally deadpan. 'I'm not mad at her. That's pretty amazing.' And just when you thought the clip couldn't get any better, Scott returns to his initial question of, 'Would you do it?' to which she replied: 'I think I've done enough.' Indeed, you have, Mariah. It truly doesn't get more iconic than that. The video has only been up for a few hours, and already, people are obsessed — not only with the fact that Mariah had no idea about the space trip, but just how chill she is about the whole thing. 'I want to be THIS genuinely chill about actually everything,' one TikTok user wrote. ''I think I've done enough' says it all 🤣' added another. 'Mariah lives in her own World. everyone else is irrelevant 😅,' commented someone else, while another said: 'Only space she knows, is her own 🤣 - Queen Aura' Related: Well, if we needed any more confirmation that Mariah is simply not like the rest of us, then this was it. Photo courtesy of Netflix Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Helen Mirren hides in a graveyard in a new trailer for The Thursday Murder Club, which arrives on Netflix on Aug. 28. Mirren portrays Elizabeth, a retired spy, and member of the titular club. Mirren, former psychiatrist Ibrahim (Ben KIngsley), ex-union activist Ron (Pierce Brosnan) and former nurse Joyce (Celia Imrie) solve cold cases in their spare time, until a murder prompts them to solve "a real case." "What we need is a man, or a woman, on the inside," Ibrahim says in the trailer released Thursday. Their interest in the case seems to put the group in danger, however. Mirren receives flowers with a note telling her to "back off" in the trailer. The film is directed by Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's Chris Columbus. Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays, Henry Lloyd -Hughes, Tom Ellis, Jonathan Pryce, David Tennant, Paul Freeman, Geoff Bell, Richard E. Grant and Ingrid Oliver also star. ‘Wednesday' Season 2 Cast & Characters Details

Wednesday is back on Netflix for Season 2. A new year at Nevermore Academy means new students, new teachers, and new threats. Of course, for someone like Wednesday Addams, threats are what makes life worth living. She'd probably prefer to be the one making them instead of investigating and, like, dealing with them. To keep track of who's who and keep up with your favorites, here's your guide to the cast and characters in Wednesday Season 2. A lot of folks who populated the Netflix series in Season 1 are not back in Season 2 so far, including Gwendoline Christie, Riki Lindhome, and William Houston. To be fair, all three of their characters died in Season 1. For whatever reason, they leave a huge gap that Season 2 has filled with some major players. We haven't even gotten to Lady Gaga's anticipated appearance yet as of Season 2, Part 1! This is who we have so far.
