Thailand expect tough test against Iraq
In the first match of the day, India will face Timor Leste at 4pm with the Thailand-Iraq game slated for 7.30pm.
The Chaba Kaew picked up their first three points by routing Timor Leste 4-0 three days ago.
The Thai women's team trained for more than an hour on Saturday at the Prince Royal College in Chiang Mai.
Thailand defender Praewa Nudnabee said after the training session: "In the game with Timor, me and other defenders did well but I think we could have scored more goals.
"We are getting better as a team but need to improve a lot of things tactically, especially being more clinical in front of the goal.
"I am always happy playing as a right back and have had great success in the role. It allows me to help the team both in defence and in attack. This is how I play at my club as well.
"I expect a tougher game against Iraq as they have some very talented players. Some of them are playing in foreign leagues like Sweden and in the US.
"They are strong physically and have good individual skills, but we are ready to handle them and are aiming to pick up three points from this game.
"I hope the Thai football fans will keep on cheering our team. We have three matches left and we will try to win all of them."

'I know many people were looking forward to this fight, and I'm truly sorry for the disappointment I've caused.' The 21-year-old made her contracted weight twice within a few hours, but she failed to provide a hydrated urine sample in time to pass under ONE's weigh-in protocols. Her third attempt, which came just as the clock struck zero, did not meet the minimum requirements of 10 millilitres, and she was not allowed to test. 'I followed the same weight-loss plan I've always used – nothing extreme, and everything was on track – but unfortunately, this time the result was different,' Supergirl added. 'I trained extremely hard for this fight and felt more than ready, both physically and mentally.' The bout was meant to mark Supergirl's first appearance since a first round TKO loss to Cristina Morales in November 2023, when she had complained of feeling sick and fatigued the morning of the fight. Since then, she had been balancing other work commitments, including film and modelling, while stepping away from active competition. 'Coming back into serious training after such a long break wasn't easy, but I gave it everything I had,' she added. 'I truly did everything I could to try and make the fight happen, including initiating direct negotiations with my opponent's team.' The ONE Fight Night 34 card has now been reduced to eight bouts, though the two other contests that appeared to be in jeopardy after Thursday's weigh-ins – involving Shamil Adukhov and Elbek Alyshov – will go ahead, officials confirmed to the Bangkok Post. SEA Games ban mooted
Tourism and Sports Minister Sorawong Thienthong said a decision to bar Cambodia from the 33rd SEA Games in Bangkok rests with the 11 SEA Games Federation (SEAGF) member nations. Mr Sorawong said the proposal to prevent the country from attending the games in December would be discussed during an upcoming meeting on Aug 20-21. The minister acknowledged that the matter has been widely debated on social media after he raised it in response to the clashes that broke out along the Thai-Cambodian border, which have led to deaths and injuries on both sides. However, he said the matter would be decided among the federation's member nations, similar to how Russia was banned from joining the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Chaiyapak Siriwat, the chief operating officer of the SEAGF Office, said on Sunday that Thailand, as a host of the 33rd SEA Games, cannot ban Cambodia from competing, despite the political conflict and border fighting. He said the decision should be made under the Olympic Charter, which promotes political neutrality and non-discriminatory principles. That charter also defends the right of all member nations to attend. The SEAGF meeting in August will discuss the matter in alignment with the Olympic Charter, said Mr Chaiyapak. "SEAGF and the organising committee have no authority to ban any nations from competing in SEA Games as long as that nation is still a member and not until penalties have officially been issued," Mr Chaiyapak explained.
