Aamir Khan begged God to transfer all his success to brother Faissal, moved heaven and earth to support his career: ‘I failed'
Chatting with Raj Shamani prior to the release of his film Sitaare Zameen Par in theatres a few months ago, Aamir was asked about his son Junaid Khan's acting career, and if he feels worse when one of Junaid's films don't work. Citing the example of Faissal, Aamir had said, 'This is a new emotion for me. I've always wanted audiences to love my films. But at this stage, I am more concerned about Junaid and his success. As a father, that's my priority. Forget success, I want him to be happy with the work he has done, I want him to get the due of what he's doing. Whether it's Junaid or Ira today, or Azad when he starts working, as a father, I'll be more concerned about their success and failure than mine.'

Aamir said that he cannot, in good conscience, cast members of his family in roles that they don't deserve, because he can't betray the film as a whole. 'Up till now, I've never interfered in Junaid's career, and I won't. I tried to help Faissal a lot when he started his career as an actor. Unfortunately, his first film, Madhosh, didn't work. I was very worried, and I tried very hard to support his career. I did a film with him called Mela. I moved heaven and earth to help him, but I realised that this is the one field where nobody can help you. All I can do is pray to God that he takes my success and gives it all to him. I couldn't do a thing beyond that. I tried and failed. Your success in this field depends entirely on your destiny and the hard work you put in.'
In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Faissal shared that he never wanted to be an actor in the first place, as he opened up about the problems they experienced while making Mela. The delay in production was caused due to differences between his brother and the director. He shared, 'After Madhosh, I was critical about myself and I decided to start from scratch. I knew I was not a great actor, so I took lessons. I practiced singing to open up my voice. On the side, I was also learning to dance and fight. It was after all this that my performance in Mela came through.'
After Faissal's interview, Aamir's family issued a statement stressing upon their determination to get Faissal all the help that he needs. 'We are distressed by Faissal's hurtful and misleading portrayal of his mother Zeenat Tahir Husain, his sister Nikhat Hegde, and his brother Aamir (Khan). As this is not the first time he has misrepresented these events, we feel it necessary to clarify our intentions and reaffirm our solidarity as a family,' the statement read, adding, 'It is important to share that every choice regarding Faissal has been taken collectively as a family, in consultation with multiple medical professionals, and has been based on love, compassion, and a desire to support his emotional and psychological wellbeing. For this reason, we have refrained from publicly discussing the details of a painful and difficult period for our family.'
In the Pinkvilla interview, Faissal said that he lives off of a monthly allowance that Aamir has agreed to give him until he finds his footing. He said that Aamir is a 'good man at heart', and that Aamir even offered him a job at his production house after his acting career didn't take off.

War 2 movie box office prediction day 1: Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR's actioner likely to open at Rs 19 crore, less than half of the first part
War 2 Box Office Collection Prediction Day 1: Director Ayan Mukerji's spy thriller, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, is all set to hit cinemas tomorrow on August 14, on the eve of Independence Day. While the excitement is quite high, its advance booking suggests the opening day collection at the domestic box office may pale in comparison to not only its current competition, Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rajinikanth's Tamil crime thriller Coolie, but also the first part of the War franchise, which was released in 2019. As of Wednesday morning, War 2 is estimated to open on Thursday at Rs 18.37 crore in India. This includes Rs 8.34 crore of block booking. The major chunk of the remainder of the collection belongs to the native Hindi version at Rs 6 crore, across the 2D, IMAX 2D, 4DX, ICE, and DOLBY CINE formats. However, the advance booking for the Hindi version started last weekend. On the other hand, the advance booking in the Telugu-speaking states of Hyderabad and Telangana started only on Tuesday. It was initially scheduled to begin on Monday, but was delayed by a day owing to a pending state governments' order regarding hike in ticket prices. Once the advance booking in the two states started, the tickets sold as fast as 20,000 per hour, as per Sacnilk. As of Wednesday morning, the dubbed Telugu version of War 2 follows the original Hindi version with a share of Rs 3.5 crore, across the 2D, IMAX 2D, and 4DX versions. The Telugu sales have been bolstered by the presence of Jr NTR as the chief antagonist in the film. However, the Tamil dubbed version has only a minor share in the total advance sales at just Rs 10 lakh. War 2 will surely not be the biggest opener in India this week as Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie, starring Rajinikanth, has registered advance sales worth Rs 30 crore domestically across the original Tamil, and dubbed Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada versions. The film also has an upper hand worldwide, having already sold tickets worth Rs 75 crore, as compared to less than Rs 50 crore for War 2. In comparison, Siddharth Anand's War, starring Hrithik, Tiger Shroff, and Vaani Kapoor, had opened at Rs 53.35 crore in India alone. While Hrithik and Ashutosh Rana reprise their roles in the sequel, they'll be joined by Jr NTR and Kiara Advani, who plays Hrithik's new love interest. War 2 also marks director Ayan Mukerji's first film outside of Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, since the spy thriller is backed by Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films. It already includes Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), War, Pathaan (2023), and Tiger 3 (2023). Its future instalments include Shiv Rawail's Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, which is slated to release in cinemas this Christmas on December 25.

Jr NTR's massive fan base drove a surge in sales, with advance collections crossing Rs 9.13 crore so far. While War 2 enjoys advantages such as a larger number of screens and a family-friendly U/A certificate, Coolie's overwhelming pre-sale numbers and strong overseas performance give it a major edge. With Coolie leading in pre-sales and overseas enthusiasm and War 2 gaining momentum through Jr NTR's fanbase and wide screen presence, moviegoers are in for a thrilling cinematic weekend.
