ICCPL Foundation wins DO GOOD Award 2024
The award-winning initiative was part of the broader #RahatWithICCPL campaign, which aims to support children from marginalised communities by ensuring access to basic educational resources. Through this focused stationery distribution drive, the Foundation reached underserved areas where lack of supplies often acts as a barrier to learning. The campaign played a key role in helping children maintain continuity in education, especially during times of hardship.
Ambika Saxena, CEO, ICCPL Foundation, said, 'This award reaffirms our belief that meaningful change lies in addressing real, everyday needs. Distributing stationery might seem simple-but for many children, its the bridge between dropping out and staying in school. We're proud to be part of their journey.'
Beyond this initiative, ICCPL Foundation continues to lead several sustained social programs. These include donation drives in underserved regions, free meals to thousands, observance of International Sign Language Day to promote inclusion, Vivah Utsav to support the weddings of economically weaker couples, and tree plantation drives. Each effort follows a grassroots-first approach, in line with the Foundation's long-term commitment to equity and empowerment.

The Uttarakhand high court on Wednesday directed the sub-divisional magistrate of Dehradun to postpone the public hearing on the proposed ₹6,500 crore Rispana-Bindal elevated road project till August order came while hearing a PIL filed by Anoop Nautiyal, founder of the Dehradun-based Social Development for Communities (SDC) Foundation, against the project, which he said would displace thousands of slum dwellers and "cause irreversible ecological damage."Nautiyal's counsel told the court that the government had issued a notice on July 29 announcing the public hearing would take place from August 5 to 15, but under the Land Acquisition Act, the social impact assessment (SIA) report must be published three weeks before the Justice G Narendar and Justice Alok Mahra, after noting that the report was uploaded only on August 2, making the earliest permissible date for the hearing August 23, gave the orders to postpone the dates. The next hearing is scheduled for September court also questioned Nautiyal's reason to bring the case to court, asking, "How is he affected? What is his cause? He is just complaining about an infraction of the rule here."The petitioner's counsel claimed around 2,600 households would be affected by the project to which the court asked for details of individuals whose land was to be acquired. The counsel said the SIA report did not name them but noted that 42.3 hectares of land would be acquired, including riverside areas. HC remarked, "Alongside the river is the riverbank which is a prohibited area.""For forest land, the govt will have to seek clearance. For private land, they will have to notify for acquisition. You will have the opportunity to object then," the bench observed. It added, "It's an infra project, at the most it will be postponed by 3 weeks. We can ask them to redo exercise."

Abhay Bhutada Foundation Extends Support to Shivsrushti with Additional INR 75 Lakh Donation
VMPL Pune (Maharashtra) [India], August 13: The Abhay Bhutada Foundation, a non-profit organisation committed to social upliftment, education, and cultural preservation, has once again stepped forward to support Shivsrushti -- the ambitious theme park dedicated to the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Building upon its earlier contribution of INR 50 lakh, the Foundation has now pledged an additional INR 75 lakh to ensure wider public access to the historical experience. Earlier this year, the Foundation's initial donation helped reduce ticket prices to INR 50 from May 15 to August 15, resulting in over 1.5 lakh visitors experiencing the park during the discounted period. With the fresh infusion of funds, these special rates will now be extended until October 31, allowing even more people to engage with Maharashtra's rich cultural heritage. Established in 2023, the Abhay Bhutada Foundation focuses on long-term, sustainable initiatives in the areas of education, sports, and cultural preservation. Unlike many other charitable bodies, the Foundation operates entirely on internal funding, ensuring complete independence in its decision-making. Its work is guided by the belief that philanthropy should not just provide immediate relief but also empower communities for the future. Over the past year, the Foundation has impacted lakhs of lives across Maharashtra through strategic interventions designed for measurable and lasting results. Founder and Chairman CA Abhay Bhutada, an accomplished entrepreneur and philanthropist, has been instrumental in shaping the Foundation's vision. Known for his work in the banking, finance, and insurance sectors, he has consistently championed causes that combine community development with cultural preservation. His personal commitment to the Shivsrushti project stems from a desire to make the history and values of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj accessible to the masses at an affordable cost. Jagdish Kadam, Trustee of Maharaja Shivchhatrapati Pratishthan and Chairman of the Shivsrushti project, expressed his appreciation: "Given the public demand to extend the discounted rates and the Abhay Bhutada Foundation's generous contribution, we are thrilled to continue offering this opportunity until October 31. This initiative will help us bring Shivaji Maharaj's life and legacy to an even larger audience." The Foundation's latest donation not only ensures greater footfall at Shivsrushti but also reinforces its broader mission -- to preserve cultural heritage while enabling inclusive access for future generations.
