Viola Davis Is a U.S. President Ready to Save the Day in Trailer for Prime Video's G20 Movie
Prime Video released the official trailer on Wednesday (watch above) for the Patricia Riggens-directed movie set to release on Thursday, April 10. The movie focuses on Davis as Taylor Sutton, a President of the United States who finds herself in a dangerous predicament when she must use her skills to save the country from a terrorist takeover.

'When the G20 summit comes under siege, U.S. President Danielle Sutton becomes the No. 1 target,' reads the official synopsis. 'After evading capture by the attackers, she must outsmart the enemy to protect her family, defend her country and safeguard world leaders in this action-packed thrill ride.'
Alongside Davis, the movie features a cast of well-known actors, with Black-ish stars Anthony Anderson and Marsai Martin reuniting as a father-and-daughter duo on screen. G20 also stars Ramón Rodríguez (Will Trent), Antony Starr (The Boys), Douglas Hodge (The Great), Elizabeth Marvel (Love & Death), Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus), and Clark Gregg (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D).
Riggens directed the film based on a script by Caitlin Parrish, Erica Weiss, Logan Miller and Noah Miller. Davis, Andrew Lazar, and Julius Tennon serve as producers.

But if you ask her, she's just getting started. Palmer has been acting for the better half of her life, following her breakout role in 2006's Akeelah and the Bee. True Jackson, VP — the Nickelodeon show in which she played the titular character — then skyrocketed her to fame. Palmer tells PEOPLE she remembers being the "hottest thing in town," booking roles and getting record deals, but there was a later time when even she wasn't sure what was next for her. "That was kind of, like, the peak," she says. "Then I was no longer a child star, and I had to reexamine what kind of artist I wanted to be." "I found my voice in reinvention through social media and content creation, and ultimately becoming a producer and taking my traditional roots into something that allowed me to have a little bit more control," adds the actress, who stars as a criminal on a mission to avenge her family in Prime Video's The Pickup, alongside Pete Davidson and Eddie Murphy. Recalling when social media became such a big part of her career — and identity — Palmer says there is a pivotal moment that stands out: a video from a 2019 Vanity Fair lie detector test. "I don't know who this man is. Sorry to this man," Palmer said in the clip, after she was presented with a photo of former Vice President Dick Cheney. "That's when we've seen this era where I've become a meme," Palmer jokes. "And [2022's Jordan Peele movie] Nope, and just all these things that I couldn't have predicted." She continues, "I was just following my heart and my creativity. And I think having the second wave of what that is, knowing what it's like to go through the ebbs and flows of this industry and knowing that none of the excitement always lasts forever." Like her character Zoe in The Pickup, who learns how to engage in combat and use a gun all to avenge her father's death, Palmer had her eyes set on Hollywood from a young age with her own parents in mind, because their dreams to be performers were "deferred" while they lived in a small Illinois town. At one point in the film, Davidson's character Travis teases Palmer's Zoe, pointing out that she learned all her skills just for one heist. In real life, Palmer says she felt the same way after being a jack of all trades for a specific reason. "If we take out the words that he said, and we put 'You learned how to sing, dance, act and be an all-around performer just to avenge your family's dreams?' It's like, 'Yes, motherf------, I did,' " the One of Them Days actress tells PEOPLE. Now, Palmer is determined to keep that legacy going — not just for herself, but also for the next generation of aspiring stars like her. "I just want to make sure that I'm creating something that other people can stand on," she says. Fleabag (2016-2019) One of the great TV shows of the past decade, Fleabag announced the arrival of a totally singular voice in Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The first follows her as she picks up the remnants of her life after a devastating loss, and the second follows her as she falls in love with a priest. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022-) Although it's been on the air for just two seasons, The Rings of Power has already managed to capture some of the magic of Tolkien's universe. Set thousands of years before the events of the original trilogy, Rings of Power tells the story of Sauron's rise and of the forging of the ring that will eventually become so central to the events of Lord of the Rings. The Terror (2018-2025) An anthology horror series with two distinctly terrifying seasons, The Terror is a show that imbues real-life historical events with a greater degree of fictional terror. Subsequent seasons have taken inspiration from other real-world events, including Japanese internment, and this mix of historical fiction and horror makes for an appealing, excruciating watch. Jury Duty (2023-) A unique experiment in the history of TV, Jury Duty is a comedy series about 12 people who find themselves summoned to jury duty. The trick, though, is that 11 of them know they're being filmed, and the 12th believes that everything happening is real. Over the course of several weeks, Ronald Gladden finds himself thrown into a series of absurd situations, and because he believes what's happening to him is real, he acts accordingly. Countdown's Uli Latukefu Stands by Finau's Bold, Protocol-Breaking Move: ‘It's Every Father's Worst Nightmare'

This week on Prime Video's Countdown, personally extenuating circumstances led LAPD gangs and narcotics officer Lucas Finau to break protocol and exhibit atypically audacious behavior — all during a critical juncture in Hurricane Task Force's ongoing manhunt. Arriving on the scene, SAC Blythe (Euphoria's Eric Dane) — just barely up and around after getting stabbed last episode! — tasked Shepherd (The Flash's Violett Beane) and Bell (The Boys' Elliot Knight) with assessing the detonation system, while Meachum (Supernatural's Jensen Ackles), Oliveras (All Rise's Jessica Camacho) and Finau (Young Rock's Uli Latukefu) fanned out to deftly look for Volchek in the crowd. That quiet, controlled manhunt took a turn, though, as soon as Finau realized that his wife Amina (Nicole Lyn) and daughters Kennedy (Autumn Layne) and Cameron (Grace Jenkins) were there at The Vine, as part of a school field trip. Distraught to see his own family in great harm's way, Finau used his sidearm to fire multiple shots into the ground, to grab the crowd's attention and then bellow at them to clear out. More than a bit of chaos ensued. 'I mean, it's every father's worst nightmare' to see their kids in jeopardy, Latukefu told TVLine of Finau's impulsive act. 'As a father myself, it definitely is mine.' Finau firing his gun amidst throngs of innocent civilians, even at the ground, 'goes against every protocol that they're taught,' the actor acknowledges. 'But I think that in the heat of the moment, any father would do that, any mother would do that. Work is work and family is family. And Finau's first priority is his family.' Countdown castmate Elliot Knight, sitting next to Latukefu during our Zoom, said that the task force having a family man like Finau is not a bug, but a feature. 'I think that's an important part of why Blythe has put together this team of people,' Bell's portrayer posits. 'These aren't just people who are good at their jobs and will do whatever they're told to do; he knows that each agent has their own edge, and maybe they begin and end at different points. And there are points where breaking protocol might be the right thing or the best thing to do in that moment. 'It's not predictable' how any given agent might be specifically affected by a situation, Knight notes, 'but there is an edge there that you hopefully have over the enemy you're trying to beat.'
