Lioness star Lucy Bronze's mysterious 'split' from teammate before baby bombshell
Lioness legend Lucy Bronze keeps her life away from the pitch largely under wraps, but she has been linked to some very famous sportswomen in her love life.
The footaller, known as one of the best in the world, was once reportedly dating her teammate Keira Walsh but she's since found a new flame, according to reports.
Despite their romance seemingly fizzling out, Lucy and Keira appear to remain amicable and are both part of the Lioness squad. It comes as Lucy dropped a major bombshell about her huge wish for the future.
Lucy, 33, is known as one of the world's top female footballers - boasting over 120 international appearances and a collection of silverware, including five Champions League crowns.
She transferred to Chelsea in 2024 following her time at Barcelona, and her adaptability as a right-back or wing-back continues to prove invaluable for both club and nation.
Away from the football field, she was rumoured to be in a relationship with England's vice-captain and Chelsea player Keira Walsh, 28. In the summer of 2022, Bronze and Walsh both made the switch from Man City to Barcelona and competed in the World Cup as part of the Lionesses squad the following year.
The pair kept their rumoured romance relatively low-key and never publicly confirmed their relationship, but shared several cosy photos together on social media over the years. Some of which included sun-soaked getaways together, including a break to Lyon, France, in 2019 and a trip to LA in May 2022, where they struck a pose on the beach.
They've even spent time together with both their families, as a sweet Instagram snap showed Lucy and Keira beaming alongside their loved ones. While they never confirmed their relationship together or a split, things seemed to suddenly come to an end.
Lucy is now said to be romantically linked with Spanish footballer Ona Batlle, 26. While neither of the pair has gone official, they have shared a series of sweet snaps together.
One saw them on holiday together last month before the Euros kicked off in Switzerland. In the post, Lucy wrote: "Few days of sun," while Ona commented with a heart-eyed emoji. They even took a trip to Disneyland Paris together in December last year.
Meanwhile, Lucy recently opened up about her future and about starting a family of her own one day. In an interview with Women's Health, she shared: "I could get a corporate job. I could try to be part of the Federation or Fifa. I could help someone like Chelsea develop the women's team."
The player added: "I wouldn't say there's something I'm dying to do, apart from have a family. My brother's got two kids and that's what I'm most jealous of, seeing my niece and nephew. But there's plenty of time for that – and what that looks like, I don't know."
While Lucy and Ona are major rivals during the Euros, with England and Spain competing against each other in the final on Sunday, 27 July, it doesn't seem to impact their relationship off the pitch. After Spain took victory against England during the 2023 World Cup, Ona was spotted comforting Lucy on the sidelines.

Newcastle United plot move for £50m Chelsea striker to replace Alexander Isak
Newcastle United are interested in a deal to sign Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson as a replacement for Alexander Isak, according to reports. Eddie Howe's side have ramped up plans to sign a new forward after Isak told the club he wanted to leave St James' Park in the summer window. Isak has been strongly linked with a move to Premier League champions Liverpool, who are believed to be plotting a massive offer for the Swede. Newcastle are considering a number of players to replace Isak and have now added Jackson to their list of potential options, the Daily Mail report. Jackson, who scored 10 Premier League goals in 30 games last term, has also attracted interest from Manchester United ahead of the new season. Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro's Football Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your team in the link we'll send you so we can get football news tailored to you. The 24-year-old Senegal international has been at Stamford Bridge since June 2023, with the Blues paying a £32m fee to sign him from Villarreal. It's believed that Chelsea want around £50m in order to let Jackson leave the west London club, with the player under contract until 2033. Jackson has played a total of 81 games for Chelsea to date across all competitions, producing 30 goals and 12 assists. It was reported in June that Italian side Juventus had made contact with Jackson's representatives and were considering a bid for the player. Arsenal have also been linked to Chelsea striker Jackson this summer – and the same is true for AC Milan – as well as Aston Villa. Chelsea have brought in two new strikers this summer with Liam Delap arriving from Ipswich and Joao Pedro coming in from Brighton. That has called into question their plans for Jackson, who now faces a lot of competition up front and may well have fallen down the pecking order. It should be noted, though, that Jackson is not the only striker Newcastle are looking at as a potential replacement for wantaway star Isak. More Trending Ollie Watkins is thought to be a possible option for Newcastle, although it remains to be seen if Aston Villa would allow him to join a top-flight rival. Newcastle are also weighing up a move for Brentford forward Yoane Wissa, who scored 19 Premier League goals in 35 games last season. The Magpies have made an enquiry for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko too. Rangers boss left frustrated at 'downbeat' attitude
Rangers head coach Russell Martin criticised some of his players for a lack of intensity as they prepare for their crucial Champions League qualifying second leg with Ibrox side came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Middlesbrough in their pre-season friendly at Ibrox, but Martin was left frustrated with a "downbeat" attitude in some of the players' preparation. Martin named a completely different starting line-up from the side that won Tuesday's first leg 2-0 as he prepares for the second leg on Wednesday night in Greece."The first half was a bit frustrating because we're playing a good team," he said. "They're athletic, they pressed really aggressively, but a lot of the moments that were uncomfortable for us were down to a lack of intensity on our part."And I said to the guys, I didn't like the warm-up, there's a bit of disappointment in a few people, maybe not in the team and all that stuff."But, if you're disappointed and especially playing for this football club, you have to show it in being more aggressive and more intense, not being downbeat and sort of just being out there and letting the game pass you by a little bit. "So they know that now. That can't happen."Similar to midweek against Panathinaikos, Rangers were frustrated for large parts of the first half against the Championship side."It can't be a problem for us that, whenever you step on the pitch for this club and this team, you have to be all in, you have to be," Martin said. "There were some good moments in the first half, but you know, I think the thing to take is, when you're not playing or not in the starting 11 right now - and, by the way, at the start of a very, very long season - we are gonna need everyone."I think that's the lesson is, if you're not gonna play with enough intensity or enough speed or enough aggression, then you'll be put into difficult situations way more than you are if you wanna bring all of those to the party."Martin picked out winger Oscar Cortes and 17-year-old forward Josh Gentles for praise."I've told them that you need to be a bit more like Oscar - run really hard, maybe the end product wasn't quite there today because he hasn't played too much, but effort, endeavour, willingness to run to help your mate," Martin said."Josh Gentles is the same. So that's where you need to be if you want to be part of this in the long term."The head coach was also shown a red card after speaking with referee John Beatton about a first-half incident where he felt his side should have been awarded a penalty."I'm a passionate guy and I probably I probably overstepped the mark," Martin added.

'We're not underdogs' - England seek redemption against Spain
England will be seeking redemption in Sunday's Euro 2025 final when they take on Spain in a repeat of the World Cup final two years Wiegman's side are in their third successive major final after winning Euro 2022 before Spain beat them to become world champions in is the first time Spain's women - who were knocked out in the quarter-finals in 2022 by England - have reached a European Championship captain Leah Williamson says they are aware of "what it means to the nation" and they will do everything they can to bring home the Lionesses are hoping to become the first team in the history of English football to win a major trophy on foreign soil when they line up in the final in Basel, Switzerland at 17:00 BST."The opportunity [on Sunday] and what's on offer is the best thing in football," said Williamson. "We wanted to be here until the end and have a chance to win the trophy. We don't carry the weight of it - but we're aware of it because it means the same to us. "We recognise the opportunity and we'll do everything we can to do it." Redemption for World Cup final defeat? Williamson was not part of England's defeat by Spain in the World Cup final because of an anterior cruciate ligament said it was an "awful" experience to watch the final and not being able to help."I know how tired you are when you get to that stage, and how much a tournament takes out of you - and to be completely useless, that probably bothered me the most," she added."But that feels like a really long time ago, which is probably a benefit to the whole squad. "Anybody would give anything to be a part of their team when they're going through moments like that. It was tough."It will be just the second time the same teams have met in back-to-back Women's World Cup or European Championship finals, after Germany faced Sweden in 2001 and have faced each other three times previously at the Euros, with England winning the last two meetings in 2017 and two nations also met in this year's Women's Nations League - England won 1-0 at Wembley in February before Spain beat them 2-1 in Barcelona in June."We've played each other a lot over the last couple of years. You always have learnings. They will have learned from us," said Wiegman. "Sunday is a new situation so hopefully we can exploit some of the weaknesses they have too. I just know that going into a final is already very, very special." Are England the underdogs? Spain have won each of their last 10 matches in all competitions, scoring 38 goals. They last enjoyed a longer winning run between March 2020 and November 2021, when they won 16 games world champions are the highest-ranked side in the competition and have not lost a game at Euro are ranked fifth in the world and lost their opening group game against needed a penalty shootout to overcome Sweden in the quarter-finals and scored a last-minute goal in extra time to beat Italy in the Williamson - who hopes to captain an England side to back-to-back European titles for the first time in their history - says there is no underdog, despite Spain being many people's pre-tournament favourites."We play a game against the world champions who continue to prove themselves over and over in the way they play," said Williamson. "They are fantastic footballing team and they are the best at what they do and we're very much aware of that. We think we're pretty good in areas as well. "We need to be at our best to beat Spain. I think they need to be at their best to beat us too. There is a lot of respect between the two teams. "I would be hesitant to say there's an underdog in this scenario. It's not an easy job. We will prepare ourselves as best we can for that challenge." Can undefeated Spain create history? Spain arrived in Switzerland as the pre-tournament favourites, with Opta predicting they had a 25% chance of winning the title."We don't like the idea of being favourites. We know what it takes to be here, what we suffered, we have to be focused," Spain captain Irene Paredes La Roja underlined their credentials as favourites further by storming past Portugal, Belgium and Italy by an aggregate score of saw off a spirited Switzerland side in the quarter-finals before moving past Germany thanks to an extra-time winner as they beat the eight-time European champions for the first time in their history."During the whole tournament we have been writing history," said Spain boss Montse Tome."Getting to semis and the final for the first time, beating Germany for the first time. We have been accomplishing objectives and that's the reason we're here."Spain could become the first European nation to lift the World Cup and the Euros at back-to-back tournaments since Germany won five in a row between 2001 and 2009."We are a team who don't see this game as a pressure but as an opportunity to continue writing history, do something big and to let people enjoy," Paredes only is it a chance for Spain to continue writing history, but winning would allow the players to celebrate properly - without the cloud of controversy that followed their World Cup win hanging over the group. Who are the key players to watch? Lauren James was a doubt this week after coming off at half-time in England's semi-final win against Italy with an ankle she was in full training on Saturday and Wiegman said all 23 players "came through" the Chelsea forward has scored two goals at the tournament and was a standout performer in the group winger Chloe Kelly has a goal and an assist in five substitute appearances, while teenager Michelle Agyemang has netted two goals when coming off the bench on three occasions. After being discharged from hospital just days before the Euros started after suffering from viral meningitis, Aitana Bonmati had to be patient to make her mark. But the Barcelona midfielder turned up when it mattered, scoring an extra-time winner against Germany to send Spain to their first Euro Barca midfielder Alexia Putellas, meanwhile, has been in top form since the beginning - scoring three goals and assisting another four, while she has also created more chances (18) than any other from Spain's pair of two-time Ballon d'Or winners, striker Esther Gonzalez is the tournament's top scorer with four goals in five games. What individual awards are up for grabs? Gonzalez is also hoping to win the Golden Boot as the tournament's top-scorer, with her biggest challenger her team-mate Putellas just a goal England player has netted more than two goals in the will also be competition for the Golden Ball, with several Spain players impressing including Putellas - while England's Lucy Bronze and Hannah Hampton have been standout Golden Glove for the most clean sheets is tied between Spain goalkeeper Cata Coll and Sweden's Jennifer have kept three clean sheets as a team but Adriana Nanclares started the 5-0 win over Portugal in the group stages so Coll will need to keep out England if she is to win the award England's Agyemang is one of the favourites to win the young player of the tournament award, with Spain's Vicky Lopez, Switzerland's Iman Beney and Norway's Signe Gaupset her main competition.
