Matthew and Stacey, the couple behind the Toyota World Runners social media pages, died in a recent off-road accident in the mountains of British Columbia towards the village of Trout Lake. Their deaths were confirmed by friends and family online and by Kaslo Search and Rescue, who attended the scene. The couple were driving through rough terrain on a forestry road north of Trout Lake on the evening of August 7 when rescuers believe they lost control of their vehicle. Mark Jennings-Bates, a manager with Kaslo SAR, said teams were called to the crash at around 7.30pm local time. He said: 'Our teams were able to get to them efficiently. It's a long journey, but they got there efficiently. So that was very, very helpful. And of course that means that the helicopter pilot could also fly straight to the destination with confidence that he was going to find them." Jennings-Bates confirmed that one of them had died before rescuers arrived, while the other was airlifted to hospital but later died. Eamonn Holmes shares rare update on ex-wife Ruth Langsford
Eamonn Holmes shares rare update on ex-wife Ruth Langsford Eamonn Holmes has shared an update following his split from Ruth Langsford in a post about their rescue dog Eamonn Holmes mentioned his ex Ruth Langsford in a post about their rescue dog Maggie this week (Image: (Image: Ken McKay/ITV/REX/Shutterstock)) Former ITV This Morning presenter Eamonn Holmes mentioned his former wife Ruth Langsford in a post about their rescue dog Maggie this week. He's offered a glimpse into their current arrangements after paying homage to Maggie over the weekend. Eamonn and Ruth, both 65, revealed last year that they had chosen to part ways after 14 years of marriage. The ex-couple, who share a son, were subsequently reported to be embroiled in a custody battle over their beloved pooch Maggie, whom they had welcomed into their family in 2011. Following his recent post about Maggie, Eamonn returned to Instagram with a fresh update. It featured him praising Ruth, who frequently shares posts about walking Maggie, and hinted at his future plans. Eamonn informed his followers that Maggie would appear in the Times this week. He penned: "So much interest and Love for Maggie following yesterday's post to the extent that she is going to star in @thetimes on line from tomorrow and this week's Sunday Times." Eamonn Holmes posted about his dog Maggie today after paying tribute to her over the weekend (Image: Instagram/ @eamonnholmes) The former This Morning presenter, who has faced health challenges in recent years, continued by explaining that his ex handles "all the hard stuff" with Maggie. He commented: "Ruth does all the hard stuff with her because of my Wheelchair restrictions but working hard to hopefully get better soon and adopt another #Rescue #Dog like we did from @dogstrust all those years ago!" The presenter shared: "Maggie changed my life and she was making me very happy in The Sunshine today. In many ways she reminds me of my dearly departed Mum - a really bad knee and hardly any teeth left but not bad for a 17 year old!" reports the Mirror. Eamonn, who supports the rescue group K-9 Angels, concluded: "Please try to Adopt and Not Shop if u can. from organisations like @thek9angels and @dogstrust Enjoy the Sunshine but please be aware of your dog in a car and it's little feet on hot pavements. Bye from Maggie and Me." The journalist, who used Randy Newman's song You've Got A Friend in Me from Toy Story (1995) in his post, had previously posted about Maggie. Alongside photos, he said in his earlier post: "17 years apart ... and we r both still going - JUST. Maggie and Me #dogstrust #adoptdontshop." He mentioned his ex Ruth Langsford, with whom he had adopted Maggie, in the post Following their separation, Eamonn and Ruth were reportedly having "difficult conversations" about where Maggie would reside. There were even rumours of a custody dispute over the dog between the former couple. However, it was suggested in May last year that Maggie was likely to primarily stay with Loose Women panelist Ruth. A source told the Sun at the time that Maggie is "like a daughter" to the exes, who were both said to "dote" on her. Article continues below The source further revealed to the outlet: "But she's getting on and they know she needs stability. It's a case of who can give her that." They added that the thought of "giving her up" was "heartbreaking" for GB News presenter Eamonn. A source revealed that Eamonn "adores" the dog, but hinted at the possibility of the pet going to his ex. They stated last year: "But if Ruth is able to get out and about and walk her more, then it may well be that she gets Maggie in the split."
