Yahoo08-04-2025
DJH, a UK accountancy and professional services group, has announced its acquisition of Bexley-based McBrides Chartered Accountants.
This deal marks DJH's first strategic expansion into London and the South, as the group aims to break into the sector's top 20.
The deal will allow DJH to leverage McBrides' regional influence and expertise across various industries.
The acquisition will enable DJH to tap into McBrides' specialisms in guiding professional services, law firms, property businesses, shipping companies, and UK subsidiaries of international companies.
DJH, backed by Tenzing, will in turn offer a suite of services including R&D tax credits, capital allowances, commercial funding, HR, and IT support.
Tanya Hamilton, managing partner at McBrides, will continue to lead the business alongside the existing partner team.
Expressing enthusiasm about the new partnership, DJH CEO Scott Heath said: "It has always been our aspiration to have a substantial office in the South and the partnership with McBrides gives us an immediate presence in the region with a business that shares our values of teamwork, client service and trust."
DJH's growth trajectory includes ten acquisitions over the past three years, expanding the firm to a multidisciplinary team of over 580 people across ten offices.
The latest acquisition is claimed to not only provide career development opportunities for both DJH and McBrides teams but also enhances the potential for growth in specialist service lines.
"Joining DJH is a major milestone in our journey, providing an opportunity to strengthen our services, giving new and exciting opportunities for further growth," said Tanya Hamilton. She highlighted the benefits of joining a top 40 UK accountancy firm, including increased investment in technology and team wellbeing.
Matt Nicholson, investment lead at Tenzing, welcomed McBrides to the DJH family, emphasising the importance of finding partners with the right culture for continued growth. "This is particularly true when entering a new region, which is a major milestone for the DJH Group," he added.
McBrides, established in 1973, celebrated its 50-year anniversary in 2023. With eight partners and over 50 employees, the firm has carved out specialisms in various sectors and opened a payroll bureau in the North East in 2021.
DJH, claimed to be a top 40 UK accountancy group, has bolstered its national presence through strategic acquisitions, combining local expertise with a national reach. Tenzing, with headquarters in London and hubs in Munich and Stockholm, supports European B2B software and tech-enabled businesses, managing £1.7bn in assets across 18 portfolio companies.
"DJH acquires McBrides in strategic Southern UK expansion" was originally created and published by International Accounting Bulletin, a GlobalData owned brand.
