Craig Hampson's third-minute score represented a perfect start for Trailfinders but they crossed just once more before the interval as Caldy dug in, Hampson turning provider for Francis Moore to dot down.
Angus Kernohan's try early in the second period extended the lead to 17-0 but Caldy hit back through Matt Gallagher, who marked his 50th appearance with a try after Ealing's Lefty Zigiriadis had been sent to the sin-bin.
The visitors hit straight back as Craig Willis secured the bonus point before Mike Willemse and Rob Farrar added gloss to the scoreline for the champions.
Blues run riot at Cambridge
Bedford Blues ran in 11 tries to defeat bottom club Cambridge 73-15.
The first quarter was hard fought and the scores were locked at 12-12 after 25 minutes, Josh Skelcey and Sam Hanks cancelling out early tries for Blues' Lucas Titherington and Jamie Jack.
Dean Adamson re-established the visitors' lead and Louis James' bonus-point score made it 26-15 at the break.
It was one-way traffic in the second half as James and Titherington completed doubles and Adamson took his tally to four, while Matt Worley and James Lennon also added their names to the scoresheet.
Pirates fight back to down Ampthill
Cornish Pirates came from 23-7 down to beat Ampthill 38-33 in a thriller at Mennaye Field.
The hosts drew first blood through Josh King but tries from Valentino Mapapalangi and Byron Sharwood, along with three Josh Barton penalties, opened up a sizable advantage for Ampthill.
Jack Forsythe and Billy Young reduced the arrears to 23-21 at the break and Pirates went in front when Matt McNab crossed for the bonus point score.
Rhys Marshall's try levelled it up at 28-28 but King's second put Pirates back in front, with the boot of Bruce Houston stretching the lead to 10 points.
Lekima Ravuvu set up a tense finish with a late try but Pirates held on.
Five-star Opoku inspires Coventry win
Only Ealing Trailfinders and Bedford Blues have scored more points than Coventry this season and thy underlined their offensive prowess with a 67-5 victory against Nottingham.
Winger David Opoku was in irresistible form, crossing for a club record five tries, as the hosts punished a Nottingham team that spent a quarter of the match with 14 men due to a pair of yellow cards.
Flanker Matt Kvesic scored the first try, before Opoku scored twice in three minutes – the first following a Sam Maunder kick-through.
A penalty try on the brink of half-time confirmed the bonus-point, while Nottingham responded for their only try minutes into the second half when James Cherry crossed in the corner.
But Coventry hit the accelerator again as Opoku added three more tries, Aaron Hinkley, Tom Hitchcock (2) and Will Lane also crossed to cement a special win.
Scottish edge past Chinnor
London Scottish put some distance between themselves and Chinnor in the scrap for ninth-place with a 24-19 away win.
The visitors made a fast start and crossed for the first try in the 10th minute as Jonny Law crossed, but Chinnor hit back with two tries to take a 12-7 lead shortly before half-time.
Roman Zheng replied for Scottish, before Will Trenholm powered over on the stroke of half-time whistle to establish a 21-12 lead.
Kieran Goss threatened a Chinnor comeback by scoring a try 10 minutes from time, but a late Josh Bellamy penalty secured Scottish the points.
Doncaster hang on to win thriller
Obi Ene scored two tries as Doncaster Knights saw off Hartpury RFC 41-35 and leap into fourth place in the table.
In a thrilling final 10 minutes, the two teams traded three tries but Hartpury just ran out of time to snatch an unlikely win.
Hartpury were quick out of the blocks, as Josiah Edwards-Giraud and Toti Benz-Solomon crossed for tries within the first 10 minutes, before Ene replied for the Knights.
Alex Dolly and Ben Murphy then helped Knights into a 19-15 half-time lead with a try each, while Ene's second soon after the re-start looked to have put the visitors decisively clear.
Zach Kerr added a further score but James Short reduced the gap to 34-23 with 11 minutes to go. Oliver Fox seemingly iced the game for Knights with a try five minutes from time, but Alex Morgan's score and a Harry Bazalgette penalty cut the gap to six at full-time.

Ryan Reynolds' £50m purchase, divorce from Hollywood actress and huge net worth

Ryan Reynolds has thrown himself into a host of business ventures since achieving Hollywood stardom, including the purchase of newly-promoted Championship club Wrexham Ryan Reynolds has partnered up with a Hollywood star to buy another sports team after the resounding success of Wrexham, which he co-owns with Rob McElhenney. The two actors have been instrumental in Wrexham's meteoric rise from non-league to the Championship in just four seasons. They became the first side in history to win three consecutive promotions in the top five leagues of English football. The fairytale rise has made Wrexham a world-renowned name, with the club just one promotion away from the lofty heights of the Premier League. ‌ But the Canadian has now taken another bold step in his sports empire by teaming up with his close friend, Hugh Jackman. Reynolds and his Deadpool & Wolverine co-star have announced that they now own an Australian sailing team named the BONDS Flying Roos. ‌ The rebranded team competes in the high-profile SailGP global sailing event, a competition backed by a diverse set of celebrity investors such as football superstar Kylian Mbappe, actress Anne Hathaway, F1 legend Sebastian Vettel and heavyweight boxer Deontay Wilder. Reynolds' portfolio already includes stakes in Mexican football team Club Necaxa, Colombian side La Equidad and F1's Alpine. But for Jackman, the endeavour marks his first foray into sports ownership. "We're incredibly excited to set sail together in this new adventure," Reynolds and Jackman said in a statement. "Hugh brings a deep love for and pride in his home country as well as being an avid fan of sailing. He will also be bringing his overly clingy emotional support human along for the ride. Apologies in advance to Australia." The figure Reynolds and Jackman forked out for their new team hasn't been officially revealed but it's believed they splurged at least $50million (£37m) between them. And in light of the Wrexham co-owner's latest business move, we delve into how he amassed his colossal fortune and those who have supported him on his journey to stardom. Astonishing net worth Reynolds is reported to have an eye-watering net worth of around $400m (£295m), having been named as one of Hollywood's top earners. Forbes listed the movie star as 2024's second highest paid actor with a whopping haul of £79m, putting him just behind Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson in the fortune stakes. ‌ Reynolds owed much of his success last year to crowd-pleasers like the Marvel blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine, while family film IF and Emmy-winning documentary Welcome to Wrexham also contributed. Beyond his box office earnings, Reynolds has shown financial acumen with shrewd business ventures, acquiring up to a 20 per cent stake in American gin company Aviation Gin before selling it in a massive $600m (£443m) deal in 2020. He also sold a large stake in mobile network company Mint Mobile to T-Mobile with the $1.35billion (£997m) deal seeing him pocket over $300m (£220m). ‌ The Deadpool star has invested a considerable sum in Wrexham, with him and co-owner McElhenney reportedly splashing out over £20m of their own money on the football club since their 2020 takeover. In 2023, an episode of Welcome to Wrexham revealed that they had lost around $12m (£8.9m) since taking over the club, with Reynolds responding by saying: "I'm going to throw up." Life with famous wife after Hollywood divorce ‌ Reynolds has been married to Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively since 2012, after meeting her on the Green Lantern film set. As their romance blossomed, they quickly became one of Hollywood's most beloved power couples, exchanging vows in a private South Carolina wedding before going on to welcome four children - James, Inez, Betty and Olin - together. Lively has been seen attending Wrexham games at the Racecourse Ground and paid a gushing tribute to the city after they secured promotion to the Championship in April. "Back to back to back," she wrote in an Instagram post. "History was made. Congratulations to @wrexham_afc. I will never forget the love and elation in that town today. Thank you for sharing it with us always." ‌ "And to these two men, @robmcelhenney & @vancityreynolds ... the love and respect that pours out of you each and together exponentially grows and creates more joy, more possibilities, more magic, more history," the actress added. "This picture feels to me like a painting of all you do for so many, while being so present and appreciative of every moment." Before marrying Lively, Reynolds made headlines thanks to his relationships with some of the most famous women in show business. In 2004, he got engaged to fellow Canadian Alanis Morissette, having met the singer at Drew Barrymore's birthday party two years earlier. They split up in 2007, with Morrissette citing the pressures of fame as a contributing factor, but they have remained close friends ever since. Reynolds, whose romantic history in the noughties reportedly included names like Sandra Bullock, Melissa Joan Hart and Charlize Theron, soon began to date actress Scarlett Johansson. The couple married in 2008 in an intimate Vancouver ceremony. ‌ But by 2010, they had parted ways, with the pair admitting that the relationship fell apart due to their busy schedules and a lack of quality time spent together. "We work and then go home," the actress later admitted to Time Out. "I'd just stare at the wall for a few hours before I got to sleep." Friendship with Rob McElhenney While they have overseen one of the most remarkable stories in football history together, Reynolds and McElhenney weren't even friends when they decided to buy Wrexham, having only briefly interacted with each other online on a few occasions. ‌ Contrary to what many believe, it wasn't Reynolds who first had the idea to take over a football club, either. Instead, it was McElhenney who spearheaded the plans after being inspired by British comedy writer and football fan Humphrey Ker to invest in a team. Despite not being a big football fan himself, McElhenney was captivated by Ker's passion for Liverpool. As a result, Ker suggested he watch the Netflix series Sunderland 'Til I Die during the coronavirus lockdown. The show piqued the interest of the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor further, leading him to want his own football club to make his own documentary about. ‌ After the actor determined his budget, Ker then helped him pick out some suitable candidates. Wrexham stood out to McElhenney due to the club's history, passionate fanbase and need for new investment in the wake of the pandemic. He then approached Reynolds, who had previously messaged him about his favourite Always Sunny scene, to secure additional funding and attach another high-profile name to the club. Reynolds was excited by the idea and did not want to merely be a sponsor, but a co-owner alongside McElhenney. In November 2020, the pair purchased the club for £2m and the rest is history, with the duo now being very good friends despite not meeting face-to-face until April 2021. McElhenney has since told People that Reynolds is one of his closest friends, describing him as a "kind and generous soul, and somebody you can rely on." Hailing the actor as a "truly inspiring person," he added: "Our families have grown incredibly close, and even though we live on opposite coasts, we feel like we're right next to each other." Next Rangers manager: Why intellectual Russell Martin would be 'positive thing' for Ibrox club

Scotland goalkeeper Angus Gunn has endorsed former teammate Russell Martin as a good fit for Rangers after it emerged that the 39-year-old is close to being appointed as the Ibrox club's new head coach. Reports emerged on Tuesday lunchtime that Rangers are poised to appoint Martin as their next manager. The ex-Scotland internationalist - who had a brief spell on loan in Govan - has always been one of chief candidates since Philippe Clement was sacked back in February and with the search nearing its conclusion following last week's takeover and new sporting director Kevin Thelwell taking office on Monday, it appears an appointment is imminent. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Thelwell and new chairman Andrew Cavenagh have been tasked with landing their next boss and Martin, who has been out of the dugout since being sacked by Southampton last December, is understood to have been in competition with former Real Madrid assistant boss Davide Ancelotti for the role. Russell Martin has emerged as the leading candidate for Rangers' managerial vacancy. | Getty Images Should the appointment come to fruition, one of his former teammates in Gunn believes "intellectual" Martin has the tools to succeed at Rangers. The pair played together at Norwich in 2017 and the centre-half's leadership skills stood out for the goalkeeper. 'There were a few other players in that dressing room – Steven Naismith was there as well – and you can tell on the pitch when you're playing with players,' said Gunn. 'They kind of start coaching whilst they're still playing, if you like, sort of organising on the pitch. 'Russell was one of them, but it wasn't just on the pitch, it was off the pitch as well, where he had close relationships with everyone. Even though he wasn't a regular playing in the team, he was always on hand and always upbeat and a good person to go to. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'He helped me massively' 'Obviously, I only worked with him as a player at Norwich but he's a very intellectual guy. I went in there as a young goalkeeper and he helped me massively, even though he wasn't in the team every week and playing regularly. He was the captain of the club and he had good relationships with everyone in the dressing room. 'Obviously, watching what he's done at Southampton, I thought he'd done incredibly well there and probably was unfortunate to lose his job there because it's always difficult for teams coming up from the Championship to even compete with some of the Premier League teams,' said the goalkeeper. 'With the way he wants to play and his philosophy, I really hope whatever he goes on to do in his career is successful. Obviously he had a spell at Rangers, so he kind of knows the club a little bit. I think it would be a really good thing for Rangers. Angus Gunn played briefly with Russell Martin at Norwich City. | Getty Images "As a manager, he showed what he can do, not only with Southampton but with Swansea as well. He took a team that wasn't expected to do much quite far into the Championship as well. I think it will be a positive thing for Rangers. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Gunn played against Martin's Southampton team two years ago en route to the Saints' promotion from the Championship and he recalled: "They were a tough team. I think we had a couple of good games against them. One was 4-3, one was 0-0, so quite contrasting. "We've seen the evolution of their team throughout the season. I think when we first played them, they were quite open. Then, when we played them again, they were a little bit pragmatic.
