Democratic whistleblower tells FBI that Trump foe Adam Schiff approved classified leaks to target President: docs
A Democratic whistleblower told the FBI that Adam Schiff approved leaking classified information in order to discredit President Donald Trump, according to newly-released documents.
The documents, which were obtained by Just The News, were recently handed over to Congress by FBI Director Kash Patel.
The whistleblower reportedly worked for Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee for more than ten years, and reported Schiff's alleged behavior to the FBI in 2017.
According to the report, the intelligence staffer called the leaking "treasonous" and "illegal," in addition to being unethical. He was most recently interviewed by the FBI in 2023.
The staffer also said that he personally attended a meeting where Schiff greenlit the leak.
"When working in this capacity, [redacted staffer's name] was called to an all-staff meeting by SCHIFF," the documents state, per Just The News. — FBI Director Kash Patel (@FBIDirectorKash) August 12, 2025
"In this meeting, SCHIFF stated the group would leak classified information which was derogatory to President of the United States DONALD J. TRUMP. SCHIFF stated the information would be used to indict President TRUMP."
"[The whistleblower] stated this would be illegal and, upon hearing his concerns, unnamed members of the meeting reassured that they would not be caught leaking classified information," the report added.
John Solomon, who co-authored the piece with Just The News' Jerry Dunleavy, appeared on Fox News Channel's "Hannity" to discuss the report.
"This is the first of several major leak investigations we're going to see over the next several days," Solomon said.
"You're going to see other major people that were clearly identified by the FBI, having leaked classified secrets."
"Their own staff turned them in when interviewed by the FBI. Nothing, again, happened," he added.
"It's a common pattern. The question now is, in Donald Trump's Justice Department, does that dynamic change?"
Soon after the report was published, Patel shared it on X, saying that the FBI "found it [and] declassified it."
"Now Congress can see how classified info was leaked to shape political narratives - and decide if our institutions were weaponized against the American people," Patel's post read.

CNN reveals ‘towering' Trump is winning over Americans on crime crackdown
Donald Trump is "towering over" his predecessor Joe Biden in the polls when it comes to handling crime, according to CNN's chief data analyst Harry Enten. Polling data shows Donald Trump's net approval rating on crime has risen, prompting him to focus on crime as a key political issue. CNN's Enten explained that Trump's actions– such as his handling of unrest in Los Angeles – resonate with voters who identify more with the Republican approach to crime and policing. As midterms approach, Republicans are leveraging this advantage, with Enten noting that voters increasingly view their crime policies favourably compared to those of Joe Biden and the Democrats. 'Americans view Trump far more favourably on crime than they did a year ago ,' Enten said on Thursday.

Gina Rinehart boosts investment in Donald Trump's Truth Social while beefing up US portfolio
Australia's richest person, Gina Rinehart, has significantly increased her bet on US President Donald Trump's Truth Social social media platform. The mining billionaire is a long-standing member of the Trump support group and has close ties with the President, celebrating his election night victory with close friends at his Mar-a-lago residence in West Palm Beach. She has also called for Mr Trump's policy agenda to be followed in Australia, including setting up a Department of Government Efficiency and following the US withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement. Mrs Rinehart's Hancock Prospecting increased its holdings of Trump Media & Technology Group, which operates Truth Social, by 67 per cent in the June quarter, according to a regulatory filing cited by Bloomberg. The stake is believed to be worth about $US4.5 million ($6.92m) Hancock's portfolio of US-traded and exchange-traded funds was worth about $US3.1 billion as of June 30. Mrs Rinehart's Hancock has been a major investor in a number of US ventures including rare earths miner and refiner MP Materials, of which she owns 7.8 per cent. The US Department of Defence last month struck a landmark deal with MP Materials to acquire a 15 per cent stake in the Las Vegas-headquartered company and inked an offtake agreement to buy MP's Californian production of rare earth materials at a set minimum price. The deal saw Mrs Rinehart add more than $400m to her net worth in the space of 24 hours owing to her major stakes in MP and Lynas. Lynas has operations in WA and Malaysia with ambitions to build a rare earths refinery in Texas. Shares in MP have rocketed more 70 per cent since the deal, according to Bloomberg, inflating the value of Mrs Rinehart's holding to more than $US1b. Mrs Rinehart also reportedly increased her investment in Canadian copper giant Teck Resources and took fresh positions in copper-focused critical minerals company Hudbay Minerals, uranium explorer NexGen Energy, US chip giant Nvidia and Dell Technologies.

Trump offers hope on Ukraine security guarantees
"President Trump also stated this clearly, saying things that I find important: namely, that NATO should not be part of these security guarantees - and we know this is a key point, particularly for the Russian side - but (also) that the United States and all willing allies should be part of them. That is what we are committed to," Macron said.
