Samantha Armytage's ex-husband Richard Lavender tipped to land a spot on revamped Farmer Wants A Wife
Channel Seven is preparing a major revamp of its beloved dating show Farmer Wants A Wife and it seems they have their sights set on a surprising candidate.
The network is reportedly eager to land former host Samantha Armytage 's estranged husband Richard Lavender.
The former couple called time on their relationship in December, shortly before their fourth anniversary.
The move is part of a larger scheme to inject new life into the 2026 season by featuring older farmers to compete with Channel Nine's The Golden Bachelor—now hosted by Armytage.
Armytage's departure from Seven last year to join Nine's The Golden Bachelor added another twist to the unfolding drama, setting the stage for a potential clash between the networks.

A production insider revealed to New Idea magazine that Seven was determined to avoid staleness in their format and was eyeing the wealthy equestrian businessman as a potential lead for a new spin-off titled The Golden Farmer.
'Production doesn't want the format becoming stale. They're desperate to give the show a fresh new look and format in a bid to rival its growing competitors,' the source said.
However, the move might not sit well with Armytage, 48, who reportedly sees the prospect as a slight, considering Lavender's aversion to the spotlight during their marriage.
'Sam wouldn't love the idea of Richard being involved in Farmer, in fact she would probably see it as a bit of an insult,' the insider added.
Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Seven and Armytage's representative's for comment.
The couple's split, following Armytage's departure from Seven, has been a topic of industry speculation, particularly regarding tensions allegedly brewing between Lavender's adult children and the TV personality.
Sources close to the situation revealed to Daily Mail Australia these tensions may have contributed to the breakup, prompting Armytage to relocate from Lavender's sprawling estate in New South Wales back to Sydney's eastern suburbs.
In December, Armytage sensationally announced she had split from the equestrian businessman, 65, on the eve of their four-year wedding anniversary.
The couple tied the knot at his 40-hectare property in the picturesque Southern Highlands in NSW on New Year's Eve in 2020.
Well-placed sources revealed news of their split exclusively to Daily Mail Australia, with Armytage then confirming they had 'amicably' gone their separate ways.
As the current season of FWAW draws to a close, Channel Seven has announced the dating series will be back on our screens in 2026 and applications are officially open.
The network took to social media last month to share the exciting news, urging single farmers from across Australia to head online and apply for their chance at finding love.
In a move sure to delight fans, producers confirmed they are on the hunt for 'all single farmers' to star in the show's upcoming sixteenth season.
To be eligible for the show, applicants must be at least 21 years old and are required to disclose any past or present criminal charges.
Budding reality stars will also need to be available for filming from early October to mid-December 2025, with the highly anticipated reunion episode set to film over three days in January 2026.
The Australian version of Farmer Wants A Wife is the most successful reality dating television show in the country, by the metric of lasting unions.
It has resulted in a notable number of marriages and babies, including 11 marriages and 27 children in Australia.
The show's international success is even more impressive, with reports of over 200 marriages and more than 500 children worldwide.

Love Island star Anna McEvoy announces birth of first child with husband Michael Staples: 'He is our everything'
Anna McEvoy has announced the birth of her first child. The Love Island star, 33, and husband Michael Staples revealed back in November that they were to become parents for the first time. The couple took to their respective Instagram stories on Saturday to announce the good news. Anna and Michael both shared a simple clip that revealed they were now proud parents to a baby boy. 'Baby Staples and Anna are happy and healthy,' the simple post read. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'We adore our little man. He is our everything.' The couple stopped short of announcing their precious newborn's name or sharing photos of the little one. It comes after Anna shared a cute clip on Thursday, revealing that her son would be delivered by C-section. The video showed Anna and Michael beaming broadly and hugging close as the blonde beauty showed off her baby bump in a black sports bra. She then held her hand up to the camera and the scene then cut to the pair wearing hospital scrubs. Text on the clip revealed that their son arrived on the same day. 'We are meeting our son in 30 minutes,' the caption read. 'Who is he going to look like.' The post was met with a flurry of anticipation from friends and followers with Tammy Hembrow chiming in with: 'Ah how exciting.' Anna and Michael both shared a simple clip that revealed they were now proud parents to a baby boy Another follower offered: 'This makes me so emotional! Such a surreal feeling. Happy baby day.' A third summed up the sentiment of many with: 'Good luck guys, so excited for you. Watched your pregnancy journey from the beginning, so excited to meet the little guy.' Anna revealed in November last year that she and Michael were expecting. Clips saw the happy couple looking loved up as Anna flaunted her growing baby bump. The footage began with what appeared to be throwback footage of Anna and Michael as children, before it cut to Anna and Michael sitting in their car. 'The baby is ten weeks old and 3cms tall,' the podcast host said with a bright smile. Other clips in the montage also featured sneak peeks of the lovebirds attending doctor's appointments, including an ultrasound. In March, Anna revealed revealed the details of a shock health scare that sent her to hospital. Anna shared a video to Instagram while lying in a bed at Cairns Hospital and wrote: 'Our little guy was being a rebel and stopped moving in the last 48 hours. 'The midwife told us to go to Cairns Hospital for some monitoring. After an hour of monitoring they were happy with what they saw,' she continued. 'When we left, they said "I think you have a cheeky boy". We weren't surprised. 'Ironically, he started kicking and partying when we got back to Palm Cove. Officially in the third trimester!!' Anna and Michael were married at a glamorous ceremony in Greece in 2023. The couple opted to hold their ceremony in May at the upmarket Courti Estate, described as a 'Luxury Corfu Villa' with nine bedrooms for guests. The couple were pelted with petals after they said 'I do' as the bride carried a white rose bouquet. 'Our wedding day at The Courti Estate was magical,' Anna told the Herald Sun at the time.

Marnie Simpson hits back at trolls after she's mum-shamed for OnlyFans as she vows to keep stripping off while young
MARNIE Simpson has admitted her controversial TV career has put her under the spotlight when it comes to mum-shamers over the last decade. But the Geordie Shore reality star, 33, has now insisted that she has 'no regrets' when it comes to her wild and raunchy televised scenes on the hit Paramount+ show. 8 8 8 The Newcastle lass exclusively told The Sun: ' I've been judged and mum-shamed for years - I won't bring up my children to be judgemental.' The OnlyFans creator, who joined the adult subscription site in 2022, Marnie said she is proud of her TV career - despite what some trolls may say. Geordie Shore made history as one of UK's wildest TV shows - best known for its chaotic antics, explicit sex scenes, boozy parties and threesomes. But looking back on telly career, which also includes Ex on The Beach and Celebrity Big Brother, Marnie said she has nothing to be ashamed of. Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Marnie said: 'I think all my wild nights in my Geordie Shore days were all really crazy but I also had so much fun - I think my 20s were so amazing, I got to do so many amazing things. I got to travel, I got the best experiences, I don't really live with regret.' Marnie was at the center of a number of fiery clashes on Geordie Shore - with one of her most memorable moments being a mother of all cat fights with former co-star Charlotte Crosby after she kissed newcomer Marty McKenna, just hours after he snogged Chloe Ferry. When Marnie first rocked up in series seven, she made a few enemies among the girls when she made a beeline for Scotty T and Gaz Beadle. And in series nine, one the biggest house party fights broke out after she kissed her best mate Kyle Christie to make Aaron Chalmers jealous. And let's not forget the X-rated bedroom sessions that saw her get down and dirty with Gaz, Aaron and even girl pal Chloe Ferry. The pregnant star, who is mum to sons, Rox, five, and Oax, two, with husband Casey Johnson, said she is not concerned about her children seeing her telly past on the internet. She shared: 'The way the world is going at the minute, I don't think it will need to be a conversation. 'I feel like my relationship with my family is very open and honest and I think it will be the same with me and my kids. 'I don't keep anything back, they know everything about me and I feel they're going to be brought up to not be judgemental. 'I feel like if anything, the conversations will be about Geordie Shore, not OnlyFans.' The popular TV personality said she would be supportive of whatever career path her children takes, even if it's joining a reality TV show one day. 'I would be happy for my kids doing anything that made them happy, as long as it wasn't hurting other people,' Marnie said. 'Whatever they want to do, I'm going to raise them the best I can until they're 18 and then they can make their own decisions in life, as long as it makes them happy and they're not hurting anyone, they can do what they want.' Since Marnie made her first TV appearance in 2013, her life changed forever and not always for the better. She has been the subject of vile trolls and social media hate, with mum-shamers relentlessly telling her to 'have some respect'. Marnie has been forced to defend her decision to strip off and share sexy lingerie photos on her platform. Marnie insisted she has 'no regrets' when it comes to stripping off for money, saying: 'While I'm young, I'm going to embrace my body and I'm really proud of my body. 'Then why not.. I feel empowered by embracing it.' When it comes to being cruelly trolled, she said: 'I feel like I wouldn't say that's down to OnlyFans, I've been judged and mum-shamed for years because I come from such a controversial reality show. I come from Geordie Shore. 'We've kind of dealt with that for the past 13 years, that's no different to me.' Marnie admitted the world is now moving towards accepting adult content creators - but said she'll always face scrutiny. She said: 'I honestly feel the stigma and taboo is already breaking down. 'As the years go by, it's becoming more normalised [working on adult subscription sites]. 'So many girls and women and ladies are just having that choice for themselves and I think it's really empowering. 'It's such a normal thing now, I think back in the day, there was a lot more stigma around it but I think it's becoming such a global thing now. 'There are so many people worldwide who are on the platform and there is a reason for that. 'I think it's good that no one feels that they can't be on there and that they're judged. 'I definitely like where it's going because no one should have the right to judge others, there shouldn't really be a stigma around it because not everyone is doing the same thing on there - it's each to their own.' Despite not everyone being accepting of this career choice, Marnie is raking in the cash and will be introducing a new OnlyFans YouTube channel in a bid to reach more fans. 'I've enjoyed it because I feel like it's given me a lot of freedom, a lot of confidence, I feel like I get to connect with people on a deeper level,' she shared. 'I love having the freedom of working for myself and choosing how I spend my time, so it works for me perfectly.' Marnie will be able to share more personal and daily updates with fans on the new channel, just months after her In The Real Life series launched on the OnlyFans platform. Marnie, who announced she is expecting a baby girl with singer Casey, said the last few months have been hard physically, but she is excited to jump straight back into her content creating after giving birth. She told us: 'I don't feel at my most confident right this second, I've got to be honest. 'I am six months pregnant and pregnancy isn't really for me - I find it really tough. 'I've been really sick and I've really struggled. 'At this second I don't feel my sexiest, but since reaching my 30s, I've recently felt the most confident within myself, physically, mentally, emotionally. 'I've just felt so strong and strong minded and my best.' The star had a very difficult first birth and while pregnant with her second child she insisted she would not have any more. She said at the time: 'I would not go to three,' she said. 'I think you've got to find the balance for yourselves. "We want to enjoy our lives as well. We've not waited too long to have kids and I feel like having two, we can give them the best life possible.' Marnie previously described her first labour, which lasted 28 hours, as traumatic and insisted on having a c-section the second time round. Marnie was diagnosed with a chronic UTI in 2016 and after giving birth to baby Rox in 2019, her symptoms began to get a lot worse. Marnie got engaged to X Factor singer Casey back in 2020, and they wed in May 2023. The pair met on the show Single AF in 2017. They confirmed their relationship just a few months after the show ended - a move that is against show rules but it didn't seem to worry the smitten love-birds. 8 8 8 8 8

What happened to reality TV love rat Calum Best? Star turned fitness fanatic battled drug addiction, love child accusations and a struggle to escape his late father's shadow
For a certain generation of Noughties fans, Calum Best was defined as one of reality TV 's biggest names. A nepo-baby before the term was even coined, the star was the son of legendary late footballer George Best, who attempted to kickstart his own career on Celebrity Love Island. The ensuing years have saw Calum a womanising reputation that wasn't helped by the release of a sex tape in 2017, while he was appearing on Celebrity Big Brother, and claims that he once fathered a love child. Now a self-confessed fitness fanatic, the heavily tattooed TV personality has also featured on Celebs Go Dating, Celebrity Ex On The Beach and SAS: Who Dares Wins. But his rollercoaster love life was never far from the headlines, with Calum dating names including Sarah Harding, Bianca Gascoigne and even Lindsay Lohan. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Calum endured a turbulent childhood as the son of late footballer George, given the sportsman's well-publicised battle with alcoholism In a 2017 interview, he revealed the details surrounding his father's relapse following a liver transplant. It happened in 2002, following his assurance that he was cured of his addiction to drink, and Calum caught him himself while the Best family were away on holiday. Speaking about the time he walked in on the late Manchester United player, Calum said: 'I knew he had just swigged from this bottle. And it was like f**k! It ended right there. I wanted to give up then totally. 'From then on it was just back to drinking. And he drank and drank until it ended. I remember leaving that trip so confused and upset and distraught.' Talking about how this set Calum himself on a downward spiral, the current CBB star said: 'I came back and snorted and drank and s***ged my way through everything.' George's battle with alcoholism finally took his life in 2005, which sent Calum into a tailspin of self destruction and grief. It was during this time that Calum was also a contestant on Celebrity Love Island, and won the second series with Bianca Gascoigne. Despite their winning title, the pair split up shortly after their stint on the dating series. Calum had already earned a reputation for his rollercoaster love life, having dated Girls Aloud star Sarah back in 2005. In 2006, he enjoyed a brief romance with Rod Stewart's daughter Kimberly, but their relationship quickly fizzled out. Later in 2006, Calum was given the chance to brush with some of Hollywood's finest, as he started dating actress Lindsay Lohan, at the height of her Mean Girls success. However, things took a turn when Calum confessed Lindsay dumped him after becoming fed up with his attempts to flirt with other women, and he wrote in his memoir: 'The two of us together are combustible. At this moment in our lives, we're both a bit nuts. 'We both like to party a lot and it makes things tempestuous.' Calum also had a short-lived romance with glamour model Georgia Salpa in 2011, and in 2016 he was rumoured to be dating TOWIE star Chloe Sims. They both kept quiet about the romance rumours at the time, but Chloe later referred to Calum as her 'ex' in an interview with The Daily Star. Later that year, Calum appeared on US dating show Famously Single and struck up a relationship with fellow reality star Brandi Glanville, but their romance ended after a fiery row which featured on screen. In the midst of his long list of famous girlfriends, Calum has also been accused of fathering a love child, after Lorna Hogan, 33, fell pregnant the day before the memorial of his father George Best. In 2015, Lorna claimed that Calum had refused to take a paternity test, and claimed he 'abandoned' his daughter Amelia. She told The Mirror: 'All she can say is that she doesn't know him and he doesn't want anything to do with her - it's heartbreaking.' She went onto claim that a DNA test was later planned through Calum's mother Angie, but says he failed to attend. In 2017, Calum hit back at these claims in a response to a fan on X, writing: 'Did a paternity test to clear the child wasn't mine bless.' George's own struggles with alcoholism would haunt Calum who described how he would feel, 'demonic anger,' because of his father's drinking. Indeed in 2007 his own life started to fall apart as he spiraled out of control, suffering alcohol and drug addiction. Calum said at the time: 'I'm a bad boy. I go out and get drunk, I get high on cocaine and I do stupid debauched things with the wrong women. 'I've been sowing my oats for years, and I've been doing drugs for the past six years. I do drink too much and it gets out of control. 'The drink leads to the coke and the coke leads to debauchery - the wrong people and places. When I'm high I do wild, stupid s**t. I'm a red-blooded male and I'm addicted to sex. 'I don't have to be like Dad, but I feel his blood running through my veins. I need to sort out my problems before it's too late.' Over the years, Calum hasn't given up in his quest to find love, and has been a regular on shows such as Celebrity Ex On The Beach and Celebs Go Dating. He previously told The Mirror: 'I'm doing it because I'm still f*****g single and in the hope of finding someone and the hope that this might be the one. 'The thing is, if I can't find a f*****g Mrs in my private life then I'm going to try elsewhere 'I remember I was once told, if opportunities come your way take them and if they're opportunities that are with the best intentions then go for it and this came about.' Calum has also endured two stints in the Celebrity Big Brother house, originally finishing in third place. In January 2024, Calum was cleared of sexually assaulting a British holidaymaker at Wayne Lineker's Ibiza beach club In recent years, Calum has taken a step back from reality TV to pursue his passion for fitness, and he is currently the chairman of Dorking Wanderers FC women's team In January 2024, Calum was cleared of sexually assaulting a British holidaymaker at Wayne Lineker's Ibiza beach club. The three trial judges ruled Spanish state prosecutors had not done enough to convince them Calum had forced his alleged victim to put her hand down his shorts and onto his penis as she claimed in her court testimony. They pointed to the lack of 'external corroboration' of the tourist's version of events and questioned why a female friend with her at the time and a security guard she said she had sought help from were not called to give evidence. In an Instagram Stories message alongside part of a news report confirming his acquittal, he wrote: 'The truth prevails. I have been acquitted and won my case. Thank you everyone for all your messages of support.' He finished the emotional post off - which was imposed over a scenic image of a lake and rolling hills in the distance -with a heart emoticon. In recent years, Calum has taken a step back from reality TV to pursue his passion for fitness, and he is currently the chairman of the Dorking Wanderers FC women's team. As well as regularly sharing shirtless snaps on Instagram, he is also a fixture at the annual Sellebrity soccer charity matches. He is also the chairman of the National Association for Children of Alcoholics (NACOA), and designs crystal jewellery with his brand Aura by Calu. Calum has also been hit by business woes in recent months, appointing liquidators to close his failing media business Trouble to Triumph. The liquidators reportedly found an unpaid £85,625 tax bill as well as a £48,971 director's loan. It was agreed based on his financial situation that Calum will pay just £60,000 of the £250,000 he is said to own, in monthly instalments.
