Search continues for missing hiker Christopher Moore in bushland near Nowra
Christopher Moore has not been seen since Wednesday morning after he was dropped off for a solo camping trip on Twelve Mile Road at Jerrawangala, south of Nowra.
Mr Moore's family alerted police to his disappearance on Friday, after the 38-year-old failed to return to the same road to be picked up around midday.
Chief Inspector David Cockram said the hiker was "experienced" and was believed to have adequate supplies with him, including thermal clothing, food and boots.
"Despite that, we've had some cold conditions and we've definitely got concerns for his welfare."
Search efforts to find Mr Moore started on Friday afternoon, with extensive multi-agency efforts continuing across the weekend.
NSW Police has been aided by a helicopter, the Rural Fire Service and State Emergency Service, with many crews searching through the thick bushland on trail bikes.
"We're doing anything we can provide to that search capacity to try and find this fellow," Chief Inspector Cockram said.
The search has been conducted in a large area across difficult terrain in Jerrawangala National Park and around bushland near Wandandian.
"You'd have to have some sort of experience, good provisions and good equipment to try and navigate through that area, particularly as a solo person," Chief Inspector Cockram said.
"I think [Mr Moore] had intentions to go off track as well, which provides some further complications for us.
Chief Inspector Cockram said authorities would put "more boots on the ground" on Monday morning ahead of expected wet weather in the region.
The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast a medium chance of showers for Nowra, located 30km north of the search ground, on Monday evening, before more rainfall is expected from Tuesday to Friday.
"If we're looking at a large amount of rain, that's definitely going to impact our ability to be on the ground," Chief Inspector Cockram said.
"We're going to rip in [on Monday] and see what we can do with some additional resources."

Former pro-democracy politician Ted Hui — who is wanted by authorities in Hong Kong — has been granted asylum in Australia. He said the Australian government granted him a protection visa this week, with asylum also extending to his wife, children and parents. The bounties are seen as largely symbolic, given that they affect people living abroad in nations unlikely to extradite political activists to Hong Kong or China. Hong Kong's government has not commented directly on Mr Hui's case; however, a spokesperson said on Saturday local time that those who absconded should not think they could evade "criminal liability". "Any country that harbours Hong Kong criminals in any form shows contempt for the rule of law, grossly disrespects Hong Kong's legal systems and barbarically interferes in the affairs of Hong Kong," the spokesperson said. Mr Hui ended his Facebook post by calling on Canberra to do more for those who "face long sentences for simply defending basic democratic rights". He urged the Australian government not to forget the other Hong Kong pro-democracy activists who remained jailed, including tycoon Jimmy Lai, who has been behind bars since 2020. "Australia must do more to rescue them and to speak up for their humanity," Mr Hui said. "Its stance matters internationally, and its protection of Hongkongers sets a precedent for other democracies." Australian Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong previously condemned Hong Kong's arrest warrants and bounties. "Freedom of expression and assembly are essential to our democracy, and we will support those in Australia who exercise those rights," she said in 2023. Three arrested after man stabbed in head during Kew East home invasion, children asleep inside
Two teenage boys are among the people arrested after a man was stabbed in the head and face during an alleged home invasion in Melbourne's eastern suburbs. Two young children were inside the Kew East home at the time. Police allege five unknown people smashed a large window of the house on Oxford St at about 4am on Sunday. A husband and wife inside the house were woken by the sounds of smashing glass, and soon confronted by the alleged intruders. Police allege the husband and wife were separated and put in different rooms of the house. The wife was taken to a room where two children, aged two and three, were sleeping. 'The husband was then stabbed multiple times to the head, face and arms,' a police statement read. It is further alleged one offender returned to their car, while the other four got into the occupants' BMW. 'The stolen BMW was located dumped on Christie Street in Deer Park,' police said. Police arrested three people a short time later on Hamilton St in Deer Park. Two boys, aged 16 and 17, and a 24-year-old Caroline Springs man are being interviewed. Police are still searching for others allegedly involved. The 39-year-old husband was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. His wife, 34, was treated for minor injuries. Two other adults who were at the home at the time, aged 69 and 70, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The two children and another adult did not suffer physical injuries.

‘Top tier bloke': Brisbane real estate agent dies in lawnmower incident
A well-known Brisbane real estate agent has been killed in an incident involving a lawnmower. Ty Babbidge, 55, died at a property west of Brisbane on Friday after being trapped under a ride-on mower. 'We are heartbroken to share that our beloved Ty has passed away,' his family posted online on Sunday. 'Ty was greatly loved by his family, friends, and the community. His warmth, generosity, and genuine care for others touched countless lives, and he will be dearly missed. 'We are grateful for your love and support. Lots of love, the Babbidge family.' Mr Babbidge's colleague of a decade, Kel Goesch, told the Courier Mail: 'Ty was one of the most generous, happy and genuine people on this planet. He cared a lot about others'. 'He was a lot of people's great friend but he was very passionate and proud about his family.' Emergency services were called to a private property on Grandview Road at Pullenvale at about 7.30pm Friday. Police said the incident was non-suspicious and the forensic crash unit would prepare a report for the coroner. 'What an absolute top tier bloke. Honestly he was the most generous kind hearted fella I've ever met,' one man said online. 'Such a special man. We will miss him. Love to the family who he loved so much,' a wellwisher said. 'I'm so sorry to hear. I was only chatting to him last week .... such a happy man,' another person said.
