looked in magnificent touch, compiling an elegant 91 off just 52 balls. Unfortunately, he was forced to retire hurt in the 19th over while in the 90s, narrowly missing out on a well-deserved century.
Shubham Ranjane offered excellent support in the middle order, producing a valuable unbeaten 65 from 41 deliveries to help propel TSK to a formidable 188/4.

Seattle Orcas' bowlers struggled to contain the scoring rate, especially during the powerplay and middle overs, before clawing back some control towards the death. Jasdeep Singh and Cameron Gannon were the only ones able to pick up wickets, claiming one each.
When it was Seattle's turn to bat, the Texas Super Kings' bowling attack took charge immediately. Riding high on momentum, the bowlers applied relentless pressure, striking regularly and denying the Orcas any chance to settle.

IND vs ENG: 'Without Jasprit Bumrah, there were a lot of questions' - Shubman Gill after India's historic Test win against England
Shubman Gill (AP Photo) in Birmingham: After leading India to a commanding 336-run win over England at Edgbaston, Shubman Gill on Sunday credited his bowlers for stepping up in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and dismissed personal milestones to highlight the team-first mentality that powered India to a series-levelling victory. Addressing the press after the match, Gill said: "Without Jasprit bhai, there were a lot of questions about whether we could do the job. But Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj bowled magnificently." He added, "This is one of the best Indian teams to tour England. Bumrah is one of the best bowlers in the world, but we believe we can take 20 wickets anywhere." Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! Gill, who made history by scoring 269 and 161 in the same match—the first player ever to post 250+ and 150+ in a single Test—downplayed personal accolades. "When you look at the scorecard, you don't think about personal milestones," he remarked, emphasising leadership through consistency and discipline. "Sometimes you need to lead by example. If a good ball gets me out, it's okay, but I won't throw it away." India's bowling was equally dominant. Siraj picked up a seven-wicket match haul, including six in the first innings, while Akash Deep stunned England with 10 wickets in the match, including 6/99 in the second innings. Akash's performance was even more remarkable given the emotional weight he carried, playing while his sister battles cancer back home. Poll Do you think Jasprit Bumrah's return will significantly boost India's chances in the series? Yes, Absolutely Somewhat Not Really No Impact Gill acknowledged the tactical challenges of the match, especially on a pitch that didn't offer much early on. "When the ball becomes soft, the most important thing is to stop the runs. With the second new ball, wickets come easier. "I wanted to take risk when they were five down in the first innings with short stuff but leaked runs there." With the five-match series now tied 1-1, the third Test at Lord's promises high stakes. Bumrah is set to return, and India, galvanised by Gill's leadership and the rise of Akash Deep, look increasingly dangerous in English conditions. 'We tried everything, changed plans, but ... ': England captain Ben Stokes reacts to Edgbaston defeat
Ben Stokes (Getty Images) A dejected England skipper Ben Stokes admitted that two key passages of play proved costly as his side crashed to a heavy 337-run defeat against India in the second Test at Edgbaston on Sunday. India, chasing their first-ever Test win at the venue, bundled England out for 271 on the final day to level the five-match series 1-1. Reflecting on the loss, Stokes pointed to England's failure to capitalise when India were 200 for 5 in their first innings, and their own collapse to 80 for 5 in response. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! 'Tough one. Two moments. Having them at 200/5 and not being able to burst them open. And then being 80/5 — it was always going to be tough to scrape it back from there,' Stokes said after the match. 'As it got deeper, the wicket didn't play the way we expected. It probably suited India more. We tried everything, changed plans, but when a team is on top of you, it's hard to wrestle it back,' he added. Stokes praised Indian skipper Shubman Gill , who followed up his double century with a rapid 161 in the second innings to help set a monumental 608-run target. 'Shubman had an unbelievable game with the bat,' Stokes said. He also lauded young wicketkeeper Jamie Smith, who top-scored for England in the second innings with a fighting 88. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Concentrated Siberian Ginseng Extract 2oz Superior Ginseng Undo Akash Deep press conference: On replacing Jasprit Bumrah, message from Gautam Gambhir and more 'Jamie has been incredible since he came into the team. India's win was powered by pacer Akash Deep, who returned figures of 6/99 to claim his maiden five-wicket haul in Test cricket. His double strike in the rain-hit morning session and the dismissal of Smith after lunch broke England's resistance. He wrapped up the match by removing Brydon Carse to trigger celebrations for a long-awaited Edgbaston win. The series now moves to Lord's, with the third Test starting on July 10.
