‘How are we going to make this Belfast street look like Bangkok?': Actress on filming in NI during weather warning

Kelly's new thriller, In Flight, was filmed in Northern Ireland, despite being set in multiple locations across the globe.
'It's a really ambitious project, we filmed it in Belfast but it's set in London and it's got to look like anywhere in the world,' she told on ITV's This Morning.
But Kelly said the cast and crew came into difficulty while trying to film a scene which was set in Bangkok.
'Not only did we do it in Belfast in the winter but there was an amber weather warning on the day,' she said.
Kelly said she initially feared they would be forced to postpone filming.
'I was like 'How are we going to make this Belfast street look like Bangkok?' and also 'How are we going to do it today because it's not going to stop raining today?'' she said.
Despite the bad weather the team managed to finish the scene.
'Actually we shot it that night because it needs to look all moody and we had about 35 supporting artists,' she continued.
'And we all had summer clothes on, flip flops, freezing in the rain, I mean we were literally like, dragging our feet through puddles.
'I honestly thought we were gonna have to reshoot that but it looks incredible. You gotta keep watching because it's not until the end but it looks absolutely brilliant.'
Kelly praised the show's Belfast born director, Chris Baugh and producer, Brendan Mullin for bringing the show to life.
'Chris and Brendan [are] our producer/director team, they are born and bred Belfast, their creativity is second to none and they know every nook and cranny of Belfast,' she said.
In Flight follows the story of a flight attendant who is blackmailed into smuggling drugs after her son is arrested.
Filming took place in Belfast in November 2024, with exterior shots and pub scenes being filmed at Clenaghan's just outside of Moira, Co Down.
The Channel 4 series is available to watch on All4 now.

Maisie Smith says Strictly was 'scarier' than Celeb SAS despite 'crying every day'

Maisie Smith has opened up about her experience on Strictly Come Dancing, revealing that her time on the BBC One was "scarier" than her stint on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins Maisie Adam has revealed that her time on Strictly Come Dancing was actually "scarier" than Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins - despite 'crying the whole way through' the Channel 4 show. Maisie took part in the 2020 series of Strictly Come Dancing with partner Gorka Marquez. ‌ She made it all the way to the final that year but lost out to champion Bill Bailey in the final episode. She went on to compete in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins in October 2022 and won the series alongside Ferne McCann, Calum Best and AJ Pritchard. ‌ Appearing on Loose Women today, Maisie admitted that Celeb SAS took its toll - but Strictly was scarier. It comes after BBC Strictly Come Dancing start date confirmed as line-up revealed. ‌ "I did cry the whole way through," Maisie said of Celeb SAS. "Celeb SAS is worse than it looks, even when I was watching it, it was like 10 per cent of how it actually felt." She added: "Strictly was scarier because it was my first time being on TV, was a shock to the system. But SAS was so physically demanding, you can't compare them." The 24-year-old ex-EastEnders star also opened up about her partner Max George - who recently underwent heart-block surgery and was fitted with a pacemaker. Sharing an update on his health, Maisie said: "Max is getting stronger every single day, gigs every weekend, so he gets all week to chill. Except not because he's got to travel and see me but he's doing well." ‌ As for whether she would return to EastEnders, Maisie didn't rule it out. "You don't know, you never know, but I'm enjoying being on stage, the show that I'm doing is gonna be incredible," she said. Earlier today, Strictly announced its next three stars who are set to take on the ballroom challenge - with The Apprentice's Thomas Skinner, Geordie Shore alumni Vicky Pattison and Neighbours legend Stefan Dennis joining the 2025 cast. This year's stars of Strictly were spotted heading into rehearsals earlier today as Strictly fever began over in Elstree, London.

Nadine Baggott shares 'gold standard' alternative to Kim Kardashian's 'turkey neck' face wrap

The product has been formulated alongside dermatologists and plastic surgeons and has been praised for delivering 'firmer' skin and 'taking away' wrinkles After Kim Kardashian's 'facial shapewear' went viral and sold out in record time last week, those conscious of their 'double chin' and 'jowls' have been on the hunt for effective, more affordable ways to firm their neck and jawline without cosmetic procedures. Beauty guru Nadine Baggott has hailed one product as the 'gold standard' for helping combat sagging 'turkey neck'. The 60-year-old appeared on This Morning to host an anti-ageing segment, recommending a range of tricks, gadgets and products that offer a 'lifting' or 'smoothing' effect on the neck area. One of her top recommendations was the RoC Derm Correxion Retinol Firming Serum Stick (£39.99). She told Emma Willis and Andy Peters: 'If you're going to start using skincare on your neck, I'm going to recommend the gold standard, which is a retinol. I like this one because it's RoC. It happens to be in a stick and that makes it easy to use. You can run it on any bit you want — knees, elbows. I just think it's a really gold standard product.' Harrods beauty advent calendar returns after fragrance one sold out in 48 hours 'I'm trying to cut down my alcohol intake and this 99p low-calorie drink converted me' Developed with dermatologists and plastic surgeons, this serum stick promises a 'non-invasive lift' for the face and neck, tightening 'in seconds'. It contains ultra-firming THPE, antioxidants, and RoC's award-winning retinol to 'boost elasticity for younger-looking skin'. According to the brand, it increases firmness by 90% immediately after use, with 100% of users seeing improved skin elasticity after one week. It's dermatologist-tested, fragrance-free, paraben-free, cruelty-free, and fast-absorbing, making it ideal for quick application. RoC Derm Correxion Retinol Firming Serum Stick £39.99 Boots Buy here Product Description Other products on the beauty market offering similar results include the Prai Ageless Jawline Serum, which is £22 at M&S. Powered by a cocktail of hyaluronic acid, vitamins C&E, and peptide, Uplevity, the 'game-changing formula' helps skin defy gravity for a more sculpted and lifted appearance. For those who prefer a cream to a serum, Trinny London's The Elevator is a popular choice. As well as working to smooth, firm and restructure for a visibly lifted, defined neck and décolleté, the £69 formula also contains encapsulated alpha arbutin to help prevent and visibly fade dark spots. Because the RoC formula uses retinol, it's recommended for evening use and should be used every other night, gradually increasing frequency. Retinol can increase the skin's sensitivity to the sun, so it's always important to wear SPF during the day when using potent formulas such as this one. The product has been met with glowing reviews from users of all ages. One said: 'I bought this item a week ago and I love how it glides on with a silky, non sticky application. It's super easy to use and perfect if you're in a rush and don't have a lot of time. I noticed my skin felt firmer almost straight away. I can't wait to see the longer term effects.' Another added: 'I'm almost 69 years old. I love Roc products. It took wrinkles away! Would you recommend a product with Roc that I should start using for my brown spots.' 'I am in shock at how well this works,' wrote a third. 'It goes on smooth and adsorbs well, not greasy. I'm 62 and get tons of compliments on how great my skin looks since I started using it.' Some haven't seen the results they'd have liked, while others have found the packaging to be frustrating. One said: 'I used this product for 2 months, every other day. I liked the way to felt on my skin and the scent. Unfortunately I didn't really notice a difference in my skin.' Another added: 'I really like this product but I barely use it because flecks of the packaging come off on my hands and face and I can't get them off without scraping. Please change the outside paint on the container.' Another five-star review read: 'This really works. I have wasted so much money on products. I used this and my jowls started to disappear within two days. I have one small wrinkle on my forehead and it's faded.' Another wrote: 'This product really helped firm up under my neck I was starting to feel like a turkey and considering cosmetic surgery till I tried this product. ROC has always had a very good reputation for having good products.'

The actress, 38, looked incredible in a brown vest top and matching trousers as she snapped a mirror selfie. Alongside her post, she penned 'Stripes all around' as she was seen posing in her bathroom. Her post comes after she revealed she has teamed up with Line Of Duty and Black Mirror stars for an 'unmissable' new ITV drama called The Blame. Michelle will turn into a detective to solve a murder mystery with a 'tangled web of lies' in the upcoming new show, which is based on Charlotte Langley's book of the same name. Fool Me Once star Michelle will take on the role of DI Emma Crane, while Line of Duty legend Nigel Boyle is a forensic technician called Brett Shergill. They aren't the only famous faces that viewers will recognise as Black Mirror's Joe Armstrong has landed the role of a ice-skating coach called Kyle Fraiser. They will be joined by the likes of The Last Kingdom's Ian Hart, Nathan Mensah, Passenger's Matilda Freeman, House of the Dragon 's Gavin Spokes, Last Tango in Halifax's Josh Bolt and White Lines star Ceallach Spellman. 'The drama dives into secrets, suspicion and systemic corruption - all under the surface of this seemingly quiet town,' the official ITV press release states. TV's Director of Drama, Polly Hill, has commissioned the new six-part series which has been produced by Quay Street Productions. Fans hopefully shouldn't have to wait that long until it hits our screens as filming will commence in the UK's capital and the surrounding areas. 'The series begins when the body of teenage figure skater Sophie Madsen is discovered, sending shockwaves through the town of Wakestead. 'As DI Crane (Keegan) and DI Radley (Booth) dig deeper, what starts as a tragic death, spirals into a tangled web of lies, institutional cover-ups, and moral compromise. 'As the clock ticks and trust fractures, Crane must navigate both a murder investigation and the treacherous politics inside her own team,' the press release adds. Polly Hill said: 'The Blame is a brilliant new crime thriller full of surprising twists and a compelling investigation that also cleverly tackles police corruption, exploitation and misogyny as the thriller unravels. 'Megan is such a wonderful and clever writer, and with Michelle Keegan in the lead and Nicola Shindler at the helm, this is going to be an unmissable drama and one I'm very proud to have on ITV.' The show has been written and executively produced by the woman behind Her Fault and Wolf Megan Gallagher. Mary said: 'The Blame is such an important and urgent story to tell; I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to bring Charlotte Langley's world and characters to life on screen. 'It's my second collaboration with Quay Street Productions, and it's great to be working with the team again - I'm truly in the best hands.' While the executive producer for Quay Street Productions, Nicola Schindler and Richard Fee, said: 'We are so delighted to be working with Megan again. 'She is an exceptional writer who has written a compelling series taking viewers on a twisty journey to discover what really happened through the lens of a contemporary police station brimming with secrets, corruption, and betrayal. 'We are also thrilled at the brilliant cast led by Michelle and Douglas, who will keep viewers on the edge of their seats, wondering who to trust at a time when the themes explored in The Blame are more relevant than ever.' This is one of Michelle's first roles since welcoming her daughter Palma, who she shares with husband Mark Wright, into the world. The former Corrie star gave birth to her baby girl back in March this year. They announced the happy news that they were expecting back in December 2024. The last TV show that she starred in was Netflix's Fool Me Once, where she played Maya Stern in the drama. That was back in 2024. She's also still playing the roles of Kate Thorne in Ten Pound Poms and Erin Croft in Brassic.
