Maisie Smith says Strictly was 'scarier' than Celeb SAS despite 'crying every day'
Maisie Adam has revealed that her time on Strictly Come Dancing was actually "scarier" than Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins - despite 'crying the whole way through' the Channel 4 show. Maisie took part in the 2020 series of Strictly Come Dancing with partner Gorka Marquez.
She made it all the way to the final that year but lost out to champion Bill Bailey in the final episode. She went on to compete in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins in October 2022 and won the series alongside Ferne McCann, Calum Best and AJ Pritchard.
Appearing on Loose Women today, Maisie admitted that Celeb SAS took its toll - but Strictly was scarier. It comes after BBC Strictly Come Dancing start date confirmed as line-up revealed.
"I did cry the whole way through," Maisie said of Celeb SAS. "Celeb SAS is worse than it looks, even when I was watching it, it was like 10 per cent of how it actually felt."
She added: "Strictly was scarier because it was my first time being on TV, was a shock to the system. But SAS was so physically demanding, you can't compare them."
The 24-year-old ex-EastEnders star also opened up about her partner Max George - who recently underwent heart-block surgery and was fitted with a pacemaker. Sharing an update on his health, Maisie said: "Max is getting stronger every single day, gigs every weekend, so he gets all week to chill. Except not because he's got to travel and see me but he's doing well."
As for whether she would return to EastEnders, Maisie didn't rule it out. "You don't know, you never know, but I'm enjoying being on stage, the show that I'm doing is gonna be incredible," she said.
Earlier today, Strictly announced its next three stars who are set to take on the ballroom challenge - with The Apprentice's Thomas Skinner, Geordie Shore alumni Vicky Pattison and Neighbours legend Stefan Dennis joining the 2025 cast.
This year's stars of Strictly were spotted heading into rehearsals earlier today as Strictly fever began over in Elstree, London.

Narinder Kaur criticises BBC's decision to have Thomas Skinner on Strictly
TV star Narinder Kaur has criticised the BBC's decision to cast former The Apprentice candidate Thomas Skinner as a celebrity contestant on Strictly Come Dancing after saying she was told she was 'too controversial' for the show herself. It comes after Skinner met US vice president JD Vance for a barbecue and drinks, with the 34-year-old – who befriended US President Donald Trump's number two on social media platform X – describing the event as 'once in a lifetime'. In the caption of a video posted to X, Jeremy Vine panellist and former Big Brother star Kaur, 52, said: 'Apparently I was deemed too controversial for @bbcstrictly because they only hire quiet brown and black women that fit in a box. 'But you can be a white man AND be controversial and you'll be hired on the spot! Hello Thomas Skinner!!' In a statement, she added: 'There's only so much you can say in a short video, but I felt something many others have been feeling all day and that was complete shock and utter bewilderment – to see Thomas be announced in the line-up, considering all the rhetoric about how people with right-wing opinions are cancelled and not allowed on the BBC. 'I've debated Tom on Good Morning Britain before, I supported his book release at his launch party, there is a huge disparity in what certain demographics of people are allowed to say and still get one show after another. 'I met the Strictly team at the TV Choice Awards earlier this year and got talking to one of the bookers about the show generally – and she said 'You're a bit too controversial and we can't have that for the show.'' Social media personality Skinner has been announced as one of the latest celebrities to be taking part in the upcoming series of BBC One show Strictly. He recently claimed he had received 'death threats' and 'vile comments about my children', following a series of social media posts claiming 'something's gone wrong' in the UK, and saying 'there is nothing wrong with being proud of where you're from'. In other posts, which drew criticism from some of his followers, Skinner said it is 'not far-right' to be 'flying your flag and loving your country', and he complained 'it ain't safe out there anymore' in London, saying the city is 'hostile' and 'tense'. Following the post complaining about alleged abuse, Mr Vance replied with a picture of a cartoon character typing on a keyboard and a message that read: 'Hang in there, my friend. Remember that 90 percent of people attacking your family look like this.' After the Strictly announcement, Skinner said in a social media post: 'They say don't read the comments on social media. But I couldn't help myself. I've had absolute pellets all day on my Instagram lost about going on Strictly… Why are some people so angry that don't even know me.' Among the other celebrity contestants confirmed for Strictly this year are former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison and Neighbours actor Stefan Dennis. They join the likes of podcast host and YouTube star George Clarke, RuPaul's Drag Race UK finalist La Voix, former England rugby player Chris Robshaw, and model and CBBC actress Ellie Goldstein, who is to become the first contestant with Down's syndrome to take part in Strictly's full series. The line-up is completed by Love Island winner Dani Dyer-Bowen, EastEnders actress Balvinder Sopal, Gladiators star Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, Doctor Who actress Alex Kingston, and former footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Strictly, hosted by Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly, will return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer in September, with Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas as judges.

Celebrity SAS star Lucy Spraggan discloses 'serious' injury that left her bleeding
Lucy Spraggan has opened up about the horrific injury she sustained while taking part in the extreme Channel 4 series, Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. Lucy Spraggan has disclosed the shocking moment she sustained a horrific injury whilst filming Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. The former X Factor star is participating in the punishing series, which presently features The Traitors champion Harry Clark, S Club 7's Hannah Spearitt, Love Island personality Tasha Ghouri, Rebecca Loos, Conor Benn and Drag Race UK victor Bimini Bon Boulash. The famous faces are pushed to their limits undertaking the gruelling mental and physical tests needed to complete SAS selection. Previously, Strictly celebrity Pete Wicks was compelled to withdraw after fracturing multiple ribs and losing consciousness, whilst John Barrowman managed just 32 minutes last year before throwing in the towel. Several stars have followed a similar path this year, with vocalist Hannah departing within moments, followed swiftly by Louis Spence in the opening episode, and shortly after when Love Island's Chloe Burrows and Tasha both surrendered their armbands, reports the Mirror. Now, Lucy has revealed a horrific incident that occurred as she ripped her labia while she was attached to a harness during a stunt. She previously revealed she was having reconstructive surgery soon to correct it because it had "never been the same" after filming. Recalling the moment it happened, she told The Sun: "I was like: 'This feels really bad. Surely there can't be anything.' "And I looked and there was a tear, there was lots of blood and the doctor came over and I turned around because at that point you literally don't care about anything. "Dignity has gone. It was like: 'Oh my God, I thought it was your leg.' And I was like: 'No, no, it's not!'" She's now opened up in a new interview with LadBible about how the injury happened, while she was jumping off a viaduct and was in free fall for a few seconds before stopping. She said: "You hit that sort of lowest point, obviously there's quite a lot of like 'yank' and I knew that my harness was in a bit of an odd position, but you've got so much adrenaline when stuff like that's happening, you can't really be like, 'Oh, can I just move this?"' She went on: "I knew straight away that, like, that was a sincere amount of pain and it was f***ing sincere pain. "In midair, I was trying to, like, pull on the rope, so like to pull up to relieve some of the tension, in the harness." When she went to check herself after the task, she saw blood before a doctor came over and thought she had hurt her leg. Lucy added in the interview that she was surprised to see how much attention her injury had sparked, saying: "I just think that it's kind of crazy that men are always like, 'Oh, my balls, my balls, my balls,' the second that a woman is like, I've got a vulva [it's a big news story]." That wasn't the only injury Lucy faced however, as she almost knocked out her tooth, and fainted, landing face-first in the sea after jumping from a helicopter. She was left with a black eye on her wedding day in June last year, and said she "hit the sea so hard my filler migrated to the side of my face". "By that point I was just in pain everywhere," she revealed.
