IND vs ENG 4th Test: Shots fired! Shubman Gill accuses England of flouting ‘spirit of game'
India captain Shubman Gill speaks during a press conference at Edgbaston, Birmingham, England, Tuesday July 1, 2025. AP/PTI(AP07_01_2025_000278A) Manchester: Captain Shubman Gill on Tuesday accused the England team of not adhering to the spirit of the game when openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett came out to bat late on the fourth evening. 'A lot of people have been talking about it. Let me just clear the air once and for all. The English batsmen on that day, they had seven minutes of play left. They were 90 seconds late to come to the crease. Not 10, not 20, 90 seconds late,' Gill said. 'Most of the teams use such delaying tactics. Even if we were in that position, we would also have liked to play lesser overs, but there's a way to do it. We felt if you get hit on your body, the physios are allowed to come in. That is fair. But to be able to come 90 seconds late to the crease is not something that I would think comes in the spirit of the game,' Gill said. Things started to get ugly when Gill used cuss words after Crawley kept pulling away in the middle of Jasprit Bumrah 's run-up. The entire Indian team went hard at the openers. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! Gill, however, conceded he was not exactly proud of the way things transpired. He claimed that emotions got the better of him because the England batters were wasting time. 'Leading up to that event, a lot of things happened that we thought should not have happened. I wouldn't say it is something that I'm very proud of, but there was a build up to that. It didn't just come out of nowhere. We had no intention of doing that whatsoever,' Gill offered as way of explanation. 'You're playing a game. You're playing to win and there are a lot of emotions involved. There are things happening that should not happen. But sometimes the emotions come out of nowhere,' he added. Poll Do you agree with Shubman Gill's accusation about England's time-wasting tactics? Yes, it goes against the spirit of the game No, it's a common strategy in cricket I'm not sure I don't follow cricket closely The English camp has claimed that their aggression on the field on the final day was just a reciprocation of India's outburst against their openers. 'Obviously, it started off that night when Zak and Ben had to go out. We had the advantage of bowling last in the Test match to win. We just threw everything that we possibly could at India, not only with our skills, but also with our energy in the field as well,' England captain Ben Stokes said while addressing the media before Gill on Tuesday. 'I guess it was a really nice moment as a team when you speak about something like that and everyone buys into that,' he added. Stokes has maintained that his team won't go out to pick a fight with the opposition in the remainder of the series. 'We're (not) going to purposely go out and look to start (riling up the opponent) because then that will take our focus off what we actually need to do out in the middle. But by no means are we going to take a backward step and let any opposition try to be confrontational towards us. That goes for most teams. But the series has been great to play. It has been great to watch,' Stokes said. It will be interesting to see how England respond after Shubman Gill's accusation. Catch Rani Rampal's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 4. Watch Here!

Sidney Crosby is just 36 points from passing Mario Lemieux and this season might be his biggest chapter yet
Pittsburgh Penguins' captain Sidney Crosby is about to make hockey history in the 2025-26 NHL season. With 1,687 career points, he's only 36 points shy of breaking Mario Lemieux's franchise record of 1,723 points. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now At 37, Crosby is still playing at an elite level, and this season might be the most important part of his already legendary career. Sidney Crosby could pass Mario Lemieux in just 32 games Sidney Crosby's career is a brilliant example of both consistency and resilience. Since his NHL debut in 2005, he has played over 1,200 games, averaging more than a point per game for 20 straight seasons—a record that's unmatched in league history. In the last season (2024-25), at 37 years old, he scored 33 goals and 91 points in 80 games, achieving his third consecutive season with over 90 points. He ended the year on a strong note, tallying 30 points in the Penguins' last 21 games, according to stats. As it stands, Crosby is at 1,687 points and requires just 36 more to achieve 1,723 and go beyond Lemieux. With his average of 1.14 points per game from last season, he might reach this goal in just 32 games—likely by the All-Star break in early 2026. 'I've been fortunate to play a long time and be around great players,' Crosby said in a 2025 press conference. 'To be mentioned with Mario is special, and I'm just focused on helping the team. ' Sidney Crosby continues to defy age with another point-per-game season Most players at his age typically face a significant decline, yet he continues to be a point-per-game powerhouse. If he keeps this up, overtaking Lemieux is nearly guaranteed unless he suffers an injury. However, this season is more than just numbers—it's about building a legacy. Crosby has steered the Penguins to three Stanley Cups (2009, 2016, 2017) and has nurtured a fresh generation of players. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Surpassing Lemieux would establish him as the greatest Penguin in history, a title Lemieux has held for many years. The timing definitely brings some drama. The Penguins have been out of the playoffs for three consecutive years, and the 2025-26 lineup might not be a strong contender. However, Crosby's quest for history will keep fans watching closely. 'Sidney is a once-in-a-generation player,' Lemieux told ESPN in a 2024 interview. 'It's been an honor to watch him grow and succeed with the Penguins.' Breaking this record could be the highlight of a season otherwise short on team success. Also Read: If Crosby breaks the record sooner, what's in store? A lot. He's 161 points shy of Ron Francis (1,798) for fifth all-time—a challenging target, but possible if he continues playing beyond 2027. Winning another Stanley Cup would support his claim as the NHL's greatest ever, but the current Penguins roster complicates that. Still, his two-year deal means he has more chances to build on his legacy. FAQs How many points did Sidney Crosby score in the 2024–25 season? He scored 91 points in 80 games. What is Sidney Crosby's current career point total? He has 1,687 career points. How many assists does Sidney Crosby have? He has 1,062 career assists.

India vs England 4th Test Dream11 Team Today: Top Fantasy Picks, Captain & Vice-Captain Choices for Manchester Test
As India gears up to face England in the 4th Test of the five-match series at Old Trafford, Manchester, all eyes are on the Dream11 fantasy cricket picks that could turn the tide for virtual managers and fans alike. With England leading 2-1, the pressure is squarely on Shubman Gill's men to bounce back and keep the series alive. Injury blows, tactical reshuffles, and the looming Manchester weather promise a contest full of drama—both on the field and on Dream11 scoreboards. India's lineup has seen a significant shake-up ahead of the Manchester Test. Akash Deep, India's breakout performer at Edgbaston, has been sidelined with a groin injury. Nitish Kumar Reddy is also out with a knee issue, and Arshdeep Singh misses out due to a hand injury. Their absence has forced the team management to dip into the reserves, leading to the inclusion of Anshul Kamboj, who is tipped to make his debut. This opens the door for Dream11 users to make bold picks—Kamboj, though uncapped, may thrive in Manchester's seamer-friendly conditions. Shardul Thakur is another likely inclusion with his knack for breakthroughs and handy lower-order runs, making him a strong all-rounder pick. Dream11 Fantasy Picks: Best Players to Watch Wicketkeepers: Rishabh Pant: Back from injury, Pant is a game-changer with the bat and behind the stumps. Expect explosive cameos and potential Dream11 points galore. Jamie Smith: England's young gloveman has impressed and could prove a differential pick in fantasy leagues. Batters: Shubman Gill (vc): Leading from the front, Gill will be key at No. 4 and is a must-have for his consistency and flair. Joe Root: England's backbone in the middle order, Root is an obvious fantasy asset. Yashasvi Jaiswal (c): The aggressive opener can exploit the new ball—making him captain material on Dream11. KL Rahul: His experience and technique suit English conditions. A solid pick for stability. All-rounders: Ravindra Jadeja: A Dream11 favourite with his triple-threat of spin, batting, and fielding. Ben Stokes (vc): The England skipper thrives in pressure situations. Expect clutch performances in crunch moments. Bowlers: Jasprit Bumrah: India's ace pacer is lethal in overcast English conditions—pick him without hesitation. Jofra Archer: Making a return to Test cricket, Archer's pace and bounce will be a challenge for Indian batters. Brydon Carse: A wildcard option with his ability to swing the ball and bowl in the middle overs. ENG vs IND Dream11 Team Suggestion Wicketkeepers: Rishabh Pant, Jamie Smith Batters: Joe Root, Yashasvi Jaiswal (C), KL Rahul, Shubman Gill (VC) All-rounders: Ben Stokes, Ravindra Jadeja Bowlers: Jasprit Bumrah, Jofra Archer, Brydon Carse Team Composition: 6 India, 5 England | Credits Left: 7.5 Predicted Playing XIs India: Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Karun Nair/Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill (c), Rishabh Pant (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar/Kuldeep Yadav, Shardul Thakur, Anshul Kamboj, Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah England: Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (c), Jamie Smith (wk), Liam Dawson, Chris Woakes, Brydon Carse, Jofra Archer Pitch & Weather Report: Manchester Likely to Play the Villain The Old Trafford pitch traditionally offers assistance to fast bowlers with movement off the seam, especially under cloudy skies. Rain is forecast throughout the five days, with Day 1 likely to be heavily affected. Moisture in the air and on the pitch could mean trouble for batters early on, adding weight to picking more pacers in your Dream11 squad. Head-to-Head at Old Trafford: England's Stronghold India has yet to win a Test at Old Trafford. In the 9 matches played here, England has won 4, while 5 have ended in draws. This historical trend underlines England's comfort at the venue—and gives fantasy managers more reasons to stack their XI with English players.
