Anirudh's take on 'Coolie' and 'Kingdom'
While speaking with Sudhir Srinivasan, Anirudh revealed that he has nearly completed watching 'Coolie' and described it as 'ominous and superb,'. He expressed his enthusiasm for the movie, that it will feature a new shade in storytelling and music. Regarding 'Kingdom', he mentioned having seen about 30 to 40 minutes of the film and found it very promising, appreciating the quality of the work so far.
Multiple releases this year
Although Anirudh did not specify exact release dates, he confirmed that he has two to three film releases lined up this year.
'Coolie', directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is an action thriller featuring Rajinikanth in a powerful role, reportedly with a negative shade. The film also stars Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra Rao, and Shruti Haasan, among others, and is set to hit theaters on August 14, 2025.
On the other hand, 'Kingdom' is a spy thriller directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, starring Vijay Deverakonda. The film is scheduled for release on May 30, 2025, and marks the first part of a planned duology.
It features Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead.
Anirudh Ravichander is currently one of the most sought music composers in the industry, he made his debut in 2012 with the Tamil film 'Three', directed by his cousin Aishwarya Rajinikanth and starring Dhanush.
