Priyanka Chopra On How Malti Manages School When Actress Is In India For SSMB29: 'Her Schedule's Crazier'
Priyanka Chopra said that her daughter Malti Marie Jonas remains busy and loves to socialize with her friends.
Priyanka Chopra recently appeared on Jimmy Fallon's show and reflected on raising her young daughter, Malti Marie Jonas, amid her busy schedule. Priyanka is married to Nick Jonas, who is a massively popular singer and actor. Due to her parents' busy schedule, Malti is going to school in New York, where Nick is performing on Broadway. Priyanka said that while she often has to fly to India due to a film shoot, Malti's schedule is even 'crazier'.
Priyanka Chopra said, 'She's precocious, she's funny, she's a little comedian. She knows she's funny, so that's even better. Yeah, she's such a light of our lives right now. This is an amazing season for us. Nick has been on Broadway for the last five years. We were in New York, hunkered down."
The actress added, 'I'm filming a movie in India, so I fly back and forth from there. So we're based in this East Coast summer right now, and she's (Malti) going to school here. She has her little clique of friends, and her schedule's even crazier than mine. There are so many classes. Kids do so much… She wants to socialise with other babies."
Priyanka also revealed Malti's favourite movie and song. 'She, by the way, Moana has been a favourite. She loves… she wears a Moana dress all day and Moana 2 is her favourite. But she has a varied sense of music. She listens to… APT is her favourite song, by the way. Every morning. Morning song," the actress said.
When asked if Malti listens to any Nick Jonas or Jonas Brothers' songs, Priyanka laughed and said, 'I mean, she doesn't identify them, but she calls them 'The Doughnut Brothers'… Isn't it amazing? We should merch that… Let's make that into the new Labubu."
Priyanka appeared on Jimmy Fallon's show to promote her upcoming Hollywood film, Heads of State. The film also stars Idris Elba and John Cena. Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra is also shooting her Indian comeback film with Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli. Recently, the actress has been frequently flying to Hyderabad to shoot key scenes in the film.

Priyanka Chopra Says Malti Loves Rosé's ‘APT', Calls Jonas Brothers ‘Donut Brothers'
Last Updated: Priyanka Chopra Jonas reveals daughter Malti's adorable nickname for Jonas Brothers and her love for karate, Bruno Mars and Rosé's music. Priyanka Chopra Jonas may be jet-setting around the world promoting her upcoming film Heads of State, but at home, it's her daughter Malti Marie who's truly the boss. During her June 19 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actress shared sweet anecdotes about her 3-year-old daughter and her growing personality. While promoting her Prime Video action comedy Heads of State, Chopra Jonas revealed that Malti has quite the taste in music. '[Bruno Mars and Rosé's] 'APT' is her favourite song, by the way," she told Fallon, smiling. But what caught fans' attention most was the hilarious nickname Malti has come up with for her father Nick Jonas' band. 'She doesn't identify them, but she calls them the Donut Brothers," Priyanka laughed. Chopra Jonas and husband Nick Jonas welcomed Malti via surrogate in January 2022. Since then, both stars have been candid about their parenting journey. In a 2023 Elle interview, Priyanka admitted, 'I don't even know how I'll ever discipline her because I just don't have it in me… I was so close to losing her so many times that she can get away with anything, and I just want to see her happy." Nick also opened up about Malti's busy schedule on Live with Kelly and Mark. 'She's in nursery school here in New York. She's got her little friend group… These toddler schedules are way more intense than mine," he joked. While soccer wasn't a hit, karate certainly is. 'She's really taken to karate. They get in their outfits and just say, 'hi-ya' — but she's loving it," Nick shared, emphasising how much he values Malti's stable environment and friendships. Despite her A-list status, Chopra Jonas has often acknowledged the emotional challenges of motherhood. 'Every single day you worry about what you can do wrong… But I look at her smile, and I'm like, 'Okay, I'm doing good so far.' It's the greatest thing I've ever done, but it's extremely scary," she told PEOPLE. Priyanka is currently promoting Heads of State, co-starring Idris Elba and John Cena, set to release on Prime Video on July 2, 2025. First Published:
