Ram Kapoor Removed From Mistry Promotions For Allegedly Passing Sexually Inappropriate Remarks
Ram Kapoor allegedly made sexually inappropriate remarks during a media interaction. Interviews for the show Mistry are now being conducted solely with Mona Singh.
Just days ahead of the release of the mystery drama detective series 'Mistry', actor Ram Kapoor has been dropped from all promotional activities related to the show. Mid-Day reports that the decision was made by senior leadership at JioHotstar after Ram Kapoor allegedly made sexually inappropriate and offensive remarks during a media event held at JW Marriott, Juhu on June 19. According to Mid-Day, several eyewitnesses revealed that Ram Kapoor, who was seated alongside his co-star Mona Singh, and JioHotstar executives, made comments loaded with sexual innuendo, leaving team members uncomfortable.
A JioHotstar insider told Mid-Day, 'The tone and content of his 'jokes' were unprofessional. He had back-to-back interviews that day. Referring to the work pressure at one point, he said he feels 'gang-raped'. This remark was made while one journalist was setting up her mic." Further allegations include Kapoor allegedly made inappropriate comments about the outfits of members of the JioHotstar and public relations teams while interacting with them. One executive told Mid-Day, 'He looked at my colleague's dress and referring to its length, said, 'The clothes are distracting.'"
'It didn't hit immediately, but when it did later that evening, we started recounting the number of offensive things he said. He told one of our male colleagues that his mother should have faked a headache and he shouldn't have been born. He made references to sex positions," another staffer told Mid Day.
The next morning, on June 20, the matter was escalated to JioHotstar's senior leadership, and internal discussions were held with the HR team. After verifying the claims with eyewitnesses, the platform swiftly decided to cancel Ram Kapoor's remaining promotional appearances for Mistry.
Ram Kapoor has not yet responded to the allegations. As per the report, interviews and promotional activities are now being conducted solely with Mona Singh.

Myanmar man with forged Indian passport held at airport
Mumbai: A Myanmar national who entered India after fleeing his country three years ago and subsequently obtained Aadhaar, PAN and voter ID cards as well as an Indian passport in another name was caught at the city airport on June 22 before he could board a flight to Kuala Lumpur. He was caught on suspicion after he failed to speak in Hindi while his passport showed he was a Delhi resident. The suspect, U Thang Soe Lyan Bawi, was handed over to Sahar police, who lodged an FIR against him on charges of passport forgery. Bawi allegedly used the forged Aadhaar, PAN and voter ID cards to obtain the Indian passport in Feb this year in Delhi. During his interrogation, Bawi said after protesting against the Myanmar govt and its army, he fled the country in 2022 and arrived in Mizoram. "While staying in Mizoram, he frequently travelled to Delhi for work. He first managed to obtain a SIM with fraudulent documents. He used the mobile number to acquire Aadhaar, PAN and election cards," said a Sahar police officer.
