1 dead after homicide at Wasco State Prison: CDCR
Officials said inmates Jose D Castro, 37, and Darnell Rodas, 22, were allegedly seen attacking Angel Carrasco, 34, on Friday around 2:29 p.m. Staff used chemical agents and non-lethal weapons to stop the attack.
Life saving measures were performed on Carrasco, 911 was activated and he was taken to the prison's triage and treatement area. Officials said Carrasco was ultimately taken to an outisde medical facility and he was pronounced dead by a physician.

Two improvised weapons were recovered at the scene of attack, according to officials. No other injuries were reported.
Rodas and Castro have been placed on restricted housing pending the investigation.
According to a news release from the departement, Carrasco was received from Tulare County on Dec. 31, 2009 when he was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole for first-degree murder.

Air conditioning units stolen from Wichita church
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Four air conditioning units were stolen from a Wichita church. It occurred at the Greater St. Mary's Baptist Church, located in the 1600 block of E. 17th Street. The theft occurred on July 16 as the church was experiencing the worst of the summer heat. The pastor said the theft is a huge loss. Gunfire strikes Mobile home, vehicle
MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Two homes and a vehicle were struck by gunfire on Jackson Road.
