According to ancient scriptures and Puranic legends, these destinations are deeply embedded in Sanatana Dharma symbolising a complete spiritual awakening including Ayodhya, Mathura, Kashi, Ujjain, Dwaraka, Gaya, and Matru Gaya.
The package will commence on September 9. This train facilitates tourists to board from Gudur, Nellore, Ongole, Chirala, Guntur, Miryalaguda, Nalgonda, Hyderabad, and Kazipet. The total duration of the tour package is 15 days.
This Special Tourist Train is well equipped with a variety of amenities, including PA systems for announcements onboard, dedicated coach security and tour managers, travel insurance, hotels, sightseeing and transfers, and unlimited South Indian meals onboard and off board. Hyd to soon get its first ropeway between Golconda Fort and Seven Tombs
1 2 Hyderabad: Soon, Hyderabad will get its first ropeway service connecting two historic landmarks — the Golconda Fort to the Qutub Shahi Tombs. The two-km-long ropeway will be used to ferry visitors between the heritage sites. Proposed cost per trip: Rs 100 to Rs 200 (average). Currently, the monuments have a daily footfall of 5,000 to 8,000 with weekends drawing over 10,000 people. Sharing details about the project, officials from the Hyderabad Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority (HUMTA) said that it will be built on the lines of the existing aerial transport systems in tourists destinations like Shimla, Dharamshala, and Manali that are operated by the Ropeway & Rapid Transport System Development Corporation (RTDC). The deadline for tenders is Aug 8. Apart from offering a unique experience, officials said that the project will also reduce travel time between the two monuments to 5 to 10 minutes, compared to the current 15 to 20 minutes by road during peak hours. The system will include two terminals, one near the Golconda Fort entrance and another at the Qutub Shahi Tombs complex. "We came up with this solution after facing challenges with road expansion due to constricted street layouts. The project will help reduce vehicular traffic and parking issues in the area, contributing to better preservation of these heritage sites," said Jeevan Babu. He added: "The construction will require huge towers between the two heritage sites. The development will follow a PPP model." While it is proposed to start with two cable car, the numbers may increase based on tourist response and commercial viability. "The primary objective is to provide efficient transport access for international and domestic visitors. As soon as the agency submits their feasibility report, we will commence the ropeway works," the MD told TOI. Previously, in 2024, the Centre announced plans for a ropeway tourism initiative at Telangana's Bhuvanagiri Fort. This is being implemented as part of the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 programme with an allocated budget of over Rs 50 crore. CM Sai flags off new Raipur-Jabalpur Express to enhance tourism & connectivity
Raipur: The new Raipur–Jabalpur Express was flagged off from Raipur railway station on Monday, enhancing connectivity between Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh. The express service offers a faster and more convenient route for travellers between Raipur, Gondia, and Jabalpur, with 15 coaches including one AC chair car, four chair cars, eight general coaches, one power car, and one SLR coach. Regular service for train number 11701 will depart from Raipur at 2:45 pm and arrive in Jabalpur at 10:45 pm. Train number 11702 will depart from Jabalpur at 6 am and reach Raipur at 1:50 pm. This new service will be helpful for business travellers, students, tourists, and daily commuters. It will also improve access to tourist destinations like Nandanvan Zoological Park, Maa Bamleshwari Temple, Kanha National Park, and Bhedaghat. Chhattisgarh Chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh flagged off the train from Raipur railway station. The new service, which will connect three states, was launched virtually by Union Ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw and Mansukh Mandaviya from Bhavnagar, Gujarat. At the virtual launch, the Rewa-Pune (Hadapsar) Express and Bhavnagar Terminus-Ayodhya Express were also inaugurated. CM Sai said the new train was a gift to the people of Chhattisgarh from PM Narendra Modi and Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. He thanked them on behalf of the state's 3 crore people. He said that Chhattisgarh's rail budget increased by 21 times in the last decade, with an allocation of Rs 6,900 crore this year. He also highlighted that rail projects worth more than Rs 47,000 crore are underway in the state. CM mentioned that new rail projects have been sanctioned for the Naxal-affected Bastar region, including the Rowghat-Jagdalpur rail line. He added that the new train service would boost tourism, education, and trade between Raipur and Jabalpur. Pilgrimage sites like Dongargarh's Maa Bamleshwari Temple and Bhedaghat in Madhya Pradesh will now be more accessible. The Assembly Speaker described the launch of the Raipur-Jabalpur Express as a historic event that will strengthen connectivity between Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh. He said the train would cover the 410-km journey in just 8 hours. Passengers will now be able to travel easily to Gondia, Balaghat, and Jabalpur, which will also give a push to regional trade and tourism. He pointed out that the 'Amrit Bharat Station Scheme' is redeveloping 32 stations, and passenger amenities are being increased at major stations like Raipur, Bilaspur, and Durg. Soon, subsidy for pre-1950 heritage homes in UP
Lucknow: Homes built before 1950 that reflect Awadhi heritage may now be eligible for a 30% tourism subsidy, the Uttar Pradesh tourism department announced on Sunday. The scheme encourages homeowners to convert such properties into homestays for visitors to experience local culture. The announcement came during the first anniversary event of the Facebook group 'Adab Arz Lucknow' at Halwasiya Court in Hazratganj. Kirti, deputy director of the publicity and travel trade department, said the initiative aims to support heritage conservation while promoting tourism. She also noted that traditional dishes from the region may qualify for up to Rs 5 lakh in funding under a related scheme. Group founder Iffat Ara shared her personal connection to the city, stating, "Wherever I go, I carry Lucknow with me." She said the group seeks to revive the etiquettes and practices once common in Lucknow. Chief guest Sudhir Shankar Halwasiya highlighted changes in the city's infrastructure, including improvements in airport facilities and cleanliness rankings. "Earlier, people here wanted our airport to be like those abroad. Now, foreigners admire ours," he said. Murli Dhar Ahuja, another speaker at the event, reflected on changing social attitudes in the city. The programme also saw screening of two short films and a performance by Dr Anoop Anand, who sang "Koi Fariyaad". Members recognized for their involvement included Prof. Sabra Habib, A.K.
