AliExpress launches rapid delivery service and opens doors to UK sellers
Customers in Greater London can now order packaged food, drinks, and household essentials via the AliExpress app and enjoy same-day delivery on items such as cola, instant noodles and toilet paper, depending on availability and location.
The service is expected to expand to other UK cities later this year in response to growing demand for convenience and faster delivery options.
Open to UK suppliers and businesses
In the meantime, AliExpress has announced that the platform is now open to local UK suppliers and businesses.
To encourage participation, a streamlined onboarding process, one-to-one operational support, and a discounted commission rate are being offered.
UK-based businesses can connect with a large customer base through AliExpress and may benefit from platform promotions and seller subsidies.
For consumers, this development means the potential for quicker delivery on a wider variety of products, including furniture, lighting, garden accessories, kitchen gadgets, and more.
Items shipped from local warehouses can typically arrive within three days, depending on the location and product.
Bonnie Zhao, General Manager at AliExpress UK, explained: 'Local businesses and suppliers can connect with millions of shoppers on AliExpress, and consumers may benefit from faster shipping on a broader selection of products.
'This move reflects our aim to provide an upgraded service to our customers and support for local businesses.'
Wide range of products
AliExpress already stocks a wide range of products in European warehouses. Products marked 'Local+' are shipped from UK or EU-based warehouses, aiming to offer consumers a more convenient and locally focused shopping experience.
In the past year, AliExpress has seen a significant increase in orders fulfilled from local stock, with popular items including bikes, consumer electronics, portable power stations, and power tools.
Recognised for its competitive pricing, product variety, and international shipping, AliExpress continues to grow in the UK.
According to data from Similarweb, during last year's Black Friday to Cyber Monday period, AliExpress recorded a sharp rise in UK visits, up more than 140%.
By building on its global e-commerce capabilities, AliExpress is strengthening its UK operations, aiming to enhance local supply chains, accelerate delivery, and better serve both international and domestic customers.

Financial Regulator Lowers Costs for Businesses Raising Capital in Support of Growth
Stripped back rules will make it easier for companies to raise the money they need to grow, supporting the UK's leading capital markets. The changes will lower costs for companies and widen access to investment opportunities for consumers. In a suite of measures, the FCA has confirmed: Companies that are already listed won't need to publish lengthy prospectuses to issue more shares, in most cases. The length of time between a prospectus being issued and an initial public offering (IPO) is being halved, helping companies list more quickly on the stock exchange. Companies will be able to issue corporate bonds to retail investors more easily and a new public offer platform will help smaller growth companies raise cash to scale up. Simon Walls, executive director of markets at the FCA, remarked: 'These bold shifts promote innovation, lower costs, and enable a broader investor base for growing businesses. They are the latest in a programme of reforms shifting the balance from pre-emptive checks to market disclosures. 'Our capital markets are world leading. They're our economic engine, and we want to keep them roaring in support of sustained growth and prosperity for the whole country.' Companies will not be required to publish a prospectus when raising further capital, except in limited circumstances. The threshold for when a prospectus is required for a listed company to raise more shares has increased to 75% of existing share capital, up from its current 20% level. This will reduce costs for UK companies seeking new funds by an estimated £40 million per year, unlocking more capital for growth and investment. IPOs that include the wider public can come to market 3 days after the publication of their prospectus, replacing the previous 6-day window and removing barriers to retail access. The FCA has set out a single disclosure standard for corporate bond prospectuses, covering both large and small bonds. This reduces costs for companies and will make it easier for corporate bonds to be issued in smaller, more investible sizes and support retail investment. Corporate bonds offer a valuable investment opportunity for retail investors and can provide later life income, helping people navigate their financial lives. Public Offer Platforms (POPs) The regulator has set up a new platform for public offers to make it easier for growth companies to get the investment they need and increase opportunities for investors. It will enable companies to make larger offers of shares or bonds without a lengthy prospectus, above £5 million. Offers will be made available to a broad investor base outside of public markets via an authorised firm. This will work similarly to crowdfunding platforms but for larger deals.

NOW is a perfect time to check whether you're the owner of a 50p coin that could be worth 240 times its value. The rare coin sold for £120 after an intense bidding war on eBay. Fifty pence pieces can often be worth much more than their face value. This particular valuable rarity is a 2009 Kew Gardens 50p. Earlier this week one of these coins sold for £120 on eBay after a bidding war, with 13 offers placed. Other postings for the same coin are currently listed at £177.52, and £161.92. The coin was designed by Christopher Le Brun in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Botanical Gardens' foundation. It had a very low mintage of just 210,000 copies, which means that it has since rocketed in value as it is the rarest of all 50p pieces. One side of the coin features Kew's iconic Great Pagoda. Its base is encircled with a vine while the word 'Kew' decorates the bottom. The dates 1759 and 2009 are inscribed, honouring the coin's 250th anniversary celebration. On the reverse, the fourth portrait of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II adorns the coin. Five 50ps that could earn you thousands Alongside the portrait the initials identify the engraver as Ian Rank-Broadley. To spot the coin among your collection, look out for the leafy design. Another limited edition 50p recently sold for £262. Dated to 2009, the design was the first of 29 officially licenced London 2012 Olympic coins to be released by The Royal Mint. The coin is the same size and weight as a 50p coin found in your change and measures 8g by 27g in diameter. The starting price was just £5 but six bidders fought it out, with one eventually submitting the winning bid on June 30. The coin's design was created by eight-year-old Florence Jackson from Bristol. How to sell a rare coin If you are lucky to find a rare coin among your spare change or have one at home, you can sell it through online marketplaces such as eBay. Simply take pictures of the coin, any certificates of authenticity you have and any packaging. You can also sell coins via auction, through the Royal Mint's Collector's Service.
