Satheesan, speaking to the media at the KPCC headquarters on Thursday, called the act "unfortunate and inappropriate" and demanded that the state govt formally convey its protest to the governor.
He clarified that while there was no objection to the event itself, Raj Bhavan platform is not the place for political remarks against past govts or prime ministers. "If it's a seminar, bring in military experts or foreign policy professionals.
Calling an RSS leader to make political statements is unbecoming," he said. The opposition has demanded a clear stance from the chief minister on this issue and criticized the governor's conduct for allowing political narratives to be pushed through Raj Bhavan.
He said the govt must clarify whether media organizations were paid for promoting the 4th anniversary of the govt beyond advertisements. He accused the govt of paying media houses and online platforms for coverage aimed at promoting individual ministers rather than informing the public.

Buddhist monk from Bangladesh who applied for citizenship under CAA booked for holding fake Indian passport
Nagpur: Joysen Barua, a 41-year-old Buddhist monk from Chittagong in Bangladesh, who was among the first to apply for citizenship in Nagpur under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), is now on the run facing charges of holding a fake Indian passport. An FIR was registered against him on Tuesday. This happened even as his application under CAA was being processed by the district level committee (DLC). CAA allows Hindus, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis, and Christians from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan to obtain Indian nationality on a fast-track basis. The DLC holds its meetings at the General Post Office from time to time to process the applications. Living in India since 2011, Barua applied for citizenship under CAA and first appeared before the committee in June 2024. His case could not be processed as he needed to submit more papers to prove his Bangladeshi citizenship. He again appeared before DLC on August 8 this year, but again sought time for getting the papers. A source said he did not have an original Bangladeshi passport and submitted a coloured photocopy of the passport. However, the DLC needs original documents. He came to India in 2011 on a tourist visa to visit Bodh Gaya in Bihar, but overstayed. "There were other monks from Bangladesh who eventually reached Nagpur. In 2014, communal strife back in Chittagong prompted him to stay back in India. His parents and brother continue to live in Chittagong," he said. Digitise staff service book: Teacher associations
Nagpur: Teacher associations have urged the education department to expand its digitisation drive to bring under it service book of teachers and non-teaching staff. The department has already directed schools to upload staff documents on the state portal, but associations say unless the service book is digitised, the exercise remains incomplete. The service book contains comprehensive history of an employee, recording appointment details, pay fixation, promotions, leave records, and other service-related information. Traditionally, this document is kept in the custody of the school and is handed over to the staff member only after retirement. Teacher groups pointed out that this system gives undue power to management, and in some cases, service books have allegedly been withheld due to disputes, resulting in long delays in securing retirement benefits. Milind Wankhede, president of Vidarbha Prathmik Shikshak Sangh, said there is no justification for continuing with an offline system when most other services are going online. "There is urgent need to completely digitalise the service book of teachers and non-teaching staff. There should be no need for the paper version at all.
