And the good news for United boss Ruben Amorim is the world's No 1 keeper would be up for the challenge — if Aston Villa decide to cash in this summer.

That is the word from Neil Cutler, Martinez's old coach at Villa, who remains close pals with his former star pupil.
Cutler, 48, said: 'This summer is pivotal for Emi in terms of his career.
'He's been voted the best goalie in the world twice and there seems to be an opportunity for him this summer, with all of his options open.
"Big clubs are queuing up to speak to him and he either stays at a massive club like Villa or he goes to a truly world-class club.

'I don't think it's about money with Emi so I don't think he is ready to move to Saudi yet.
'If he does move it would be to a much bigger club — one of the really big-hitters like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico... or even Manchester United.'
Martinez, 32, fuelled speculation when he broke down in tears and took a bow in front of the Holte End after Villa's final home game of the season.
Some feared it was a farewell and since then he was linked with a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League.

United, Arsenal, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also rumoured to be keen.
Martinez's contract runs until 2029 but a bid of £40million or more would ease Villa's PSR concerns.

The Villans have been linked with moves for Lille stopper Lucas Chevalier, Espanyol's Joan Garcia and Nice's Marcin Bulka.
Cutler believes this could be one of the rare moments in football when a move could suit everyone.
Amorim certainly needs a new keeper after Andre Onana looked weak at Tottenham's Europa League final winner again and Martinez could be the inspirational figure he is searching for.
"United can't offer him Champions League football but the sheer size of the club and the size of the challenge might appeal to Emi," said Cutler, now in charge of Wolves' goalkeepers.
"Emi has the confidence required to play for a massive club like United and would feel he could affect the club in a really positive way.
"He would look at United and say: 'Right, I can make this place better. I can help this club get back to where it was.'
'HE THRIVES ON THE BIGGEST OCCASIONS'
"He's all about the challenge, he's all about the drive and the desire so I think United would suit him.
"He thrives on the biggest occasions and could play for any team in the world as he's shown by winning the World Cup and Copa America with Argentina.
"He would be a comfortable fit at United and would hit the ground running.
"It's all down to what Villa want but, at 32, they will know this is when they can get the maximum return on him. If they hold off until next year they'd get less.
"Unai needs a possession-based goalie and the keepers he's been linked with are top class and younger.
"It could be one of those times when it suits all parties.
"I'm a big Villa fan so I'd love to see him stay - and I wouldn't be surprised to see Emi lifting the Europa League trophy for Villa in 12 months time.
"But I also want to see him play at the highest level possible and, if one of the really big hitters comes knocking, then he could have a huge decision to make."

Nathan Patterson and Aaron Hickey are also coming back from long-term injuries. Scotland are well stocked in that department. Johnston's career trajectory is only upwards right now. His father Allan was also a Scotland internationalist, landing 18 caps and two goals, and has played a key part in his son's development, taking him on loan to Queen of the South and offering plenty of advice. Back when it is was largely unfashionable for Scottish players to leave the UK, Johnston Snr decided to make the move to French club Rennes for a season in 1996. He played 23 games for the Breton outfit after six years at Hearts, before moving back to Britain with Sunderland. His experiences meant that Johnston Jnr had an easy sounding board when Sturm Graz came calling. "But of course I was lucky enough that I got to ask him for a bit of advice on how he managed to deal with moving abroad and stuff. He's been a really big help and he really pushed me to do it. "I think he was telling me that sometimes you just need to take a chance. There's always going to be competition no matter what club or where you play your football. There's always going to be competition, but sometimes you just need to be brave enough to take that step and work your way into the team. I think that's what I've done. "I think I was just more excited that I had the opportunity to go out and try something different. You see how well the other boys over in Italy had done at that time. They had a lot of success, so for me it was a great opportunity. "It's a reality shock when you know you're going to have dinners made for you and that and you're coming home from training. Johnston is bashful when he is asked how his German is coming along. "Don't ask, I don't want to know!" he laughed. I'm contracted for another two years over there and I'm really enjoying it. But obviously as a player, there's a level I want to reach, so we'll see what happens. "The club's been really good to me since I went over. They really helped me out, helped me settle in when I first got over. It's good, we've got a good changing room as well, so the boys are quite close and we spend a lot of time together." 'The experience of winning the double last year and winning the league this year, you just see how much it means to the fans and the city's amazing to be fair. "This year we had a big stage just outside the stadium and we just went and seen the fans for a bit and stuff, but it was amazing. One I'll never forget. I don't know how many fans were there, but it was a lot of people." Johnston's father faced an arduous journey to be a proud parent on the sidelines in Piraeus three months ago - "I think he got three flights that day to get over just for the game, so I'm very grateful that I've got him on my side and I'm just lucky that he got to see it," said Johnston. He is hoping his dad won't have to travel quite as far for his next one, when Scotland play Iceland at Hampden on Friday.

Cesc Fabregas says he believes in ‘long-term' Como project amid links to Inter
A first season in senior management for the 38-year-old ended with his reputation as a head coach significantly raised, reportedly catching the eye of Inter who are without a manager after Simone Inzaghi departed this week in the aftermath of Saturday's 5-0 Champions League final loss to Paris St Germain. Cesc Fabregas played for Chelsea and Arsenal in the Premier League (John Walton/PA) 'I really believe in the Como project,' Fabregas said at the SXSW event taking place in London, as reported by La Gazzetta della Sport. 'I started with this club because I was thinking about a long-term project. I don't want to finish my career at a club where there's a project for one or two years and then everything ends.' Fabregas, who is a minority shareholder of the club, joined Como as a player in 2022 and played out the final year of his career with the club in Serie B. After retiring the following summer, he joined the coaching staff, briefly taking charge of the first team as caretaker after boss Moreno Longo was sacked. Welsh coach Osian Roberts took charge for the remainder of the promotion-winning season while Fabregas completed his UEFA coaching qualifications, with the World Cup and Champions League-winner taking over last summer. 'I really believe in Como's long-term project,' he said. 'I arrived here as a player and I'm very, very happy because I get to work in the way that I want. We have the same goals and the same ambition. 'The President allows me to work the way I want, the way I see things. Fortunately, we share the same vision and have the same goal, which is to go as far as possible. 'We've become a really good team together, in a small town, in a small club but with big, very big ambitions for the future.' Inter meanwhile have signed Croatia international Petar Sucic from Dinamo Zagreb. The midfielder, who has seven international caps, played last season on loan at Bosnian side Zrinjski Mostar.
