Colorado came back onto the national scene with a bang after hiring former NFL great Deion Sanders as its head coach ahead of the 2023 campaign.
Sanders immediately infused the program with celebrity and swagger, which was only increased by two of the players who arrived in Boulder along with him -- his son and quarterback Shedeur Sanders as well as future Heisman Trophy winner and two-way superstar Travis Hunter (wide receiver/cornerback).

But it was more than flash that Sanders and company brought to the Buffaloes. The team, which was among the worst Division I outfits in the country for years, turned around its fortunes and has earned a 13-12 record during Sanders' two-year tenure, including an 0-1 record in postseason action (Alamo Bowl, 2024).

How Colorado moves forward in the post Shedeur Sanders-Hunter era is one of the most pertinent questions not just in the Big 12 Conference but nationwide. Buffaloes fans have already displayed their expectations, hopefulness and loyalty to the new-look program under Sanders' leadership, which the university announced via social media on Monday, June 2.
"The Colorado Buffaloes have sold out their season tickets for the third straight year, via @YahooSports," the Sportskeeda Pro Football X account wrote.
Colorado opens its 2025 campaign on Friday, August 29, with a home game against Georgia Tech.
