Snelling and St. Clair intersection fully reopens after construction

A year-long construction project on Snelling and St. Clair avenues wrapped up this week and the intersection now hosts two-lane traffic again, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The project, which began in May 2024, included resurfacing a half-mile of Snelling Avenue between St. Clair and Grand avenues and replacing the signal system. MnDOT also installed pedestrian bump-outs and ADA-compliant crossings at each intersection from St. Clair to Grand Avenue. After intermittent closures last week, the intersection opened and the new signal system turned on Thursday. Minor construction activities, such as replacing the boulevard's trees and sod, will continue throughout the summer. No citation issued after failure to yield right-of-way causes crash

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — One person has been taken to the hospital after two vehicles collided on private property near Panda Express in the morning of June 6. According to a San Angelo Police Department officer at the scene, the collision occurred in the 5600 block of Sherwood Way on a private roadway near a Panda Express and a Chick-fil-A. Fundraiser started after 5-vehicle crash 'totaled' family's only car The officer said the crash happened after a Kia 'coming in off of Sherwood Way' attempting to make a left turn 'turned in front of' a Ford Mustang driving toward the nearby H-E-B grocery store. The officer stated that no serious injuries were reported. However, the driver of the Kia was transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure. The officer also said that, although the crash was caused by a failure to yield right-of-way, no citation will be issued as the incident occurred on private property rather than a public roadway. Construction Updates on Two Waco Road Rehab Projects

WACO, Texas (FOX 44) — Construction is a familiar sight in Central Texas. Still, when orange cones line the roads and traffic backs up, many drivers find themselves wondering what exactly is going on. Two major road rehabilitation projects — one led by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the other by the City of Waco — are currently underway on West Waco Drive and Cobbs Drive. Both are designed to improve roadway conditions and pedestrian safety – but in the meantime, they're causing delays for local commuters. According to TxDOT, the West Waco Drive project spans from U.S. 77 to Valley Mills Drive and encompasses pavement milling, full-depth repairs, and asphalt overlay — all designed to enhance safety and improve the overall driving experience. Ronald Kennedy, a Waco native who commutes daily along West Waco Drive, feels the construction is necessary but concerning. 'I know it can cause a few wrecks,' Kennedy said. 'Mainly when they're picking up all the dust and dirt — you can't really see where oncoming traffic is coming from.' Kennedy hopes drivers will follow the posted signs and traffic cones because safety remains his biggest concern. 'Waco does need to change,' he added. 'A lot of streets need to be better.' Meanwhile, the City of Waco is overseeing construction on Cobbs Drive between Bosque Boulevard and Lake Air Drive. That project includes pavement overlays and significant pedestrian improvements, including new sidewalks, ADA-compliant ramps, and upgraded signal lights. Officials say work on Cobbs Drive is expected to be completed by October 2025. The West Waco Drive rehabilitation is slated to wrap up by early next year. In the meantime, officials urge drivers to remain cautious, slow down near construction zones, and watch for workers. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
