Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier is a fan of Chicago Sky star Angel Reese. Collier is calling she and Reese a fun name, ahead of the WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday night. Collier says the two players are 'Team Pheebounds.'
Collier and Reese are both playing for Team Collier in the All-Star game. In a social media post, Collier appeared with Reese and complimented the Sky star.
'You are so aggressive, and so when you're like that it's impossible to stop,' Collier said to Reese. Reese thanked Collier for the compliment.
Collier is having an outstanding season with the Lynx. This season the club has the best record in the league's Western Conference. Minnesota has 20 wins so far this campaign.
The WNBA All-Star Game is without one of its stars
Some of the excitement of this year's All-Star game has been dissipated, since Caitlin Clark is sitting out due to an injury.
'I'm so excited for Indy to host WNBA All-Star this weekend. … I know this will be the best All-Star yet,' Clark said in a statement, per ESPN. 'I am incredibly sad and disappointed to say I can't participate in the 3-Point Contest or the All-Star Game. I have to rest my body. I will still be at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for all the action and I'm looking forward to helping Sandy [Brondello] coach our team to a win.'
Many feel that Team Collier will have an advantage since Clark is out for her team. Collier is averaging more than 23 points a game this season. She is also making close to 52 percent of her shots. Collier was able to pick her teammates on her All-Star team.
'I feel like got to try to get some of my (Unrivaled) Owls girls on here and got to try to get some of my (UConn) Huskies girls on here. So, I've got an agenda coming into today,' Collier said, per USA Today.
Other members of Team Collier include: Breanna Stewart, Paige Bueckers, and Allisha Gray. The All-Star game is at 8:30 ET on Saturday night.

LeBron James' fiery Instagram post includes Clippers twist

LeBron James got a few things off his chest in a new Instagram post on Thursday. The Lakers superstar, who's been at the center of trade rumors this offseason, cautioned to appreciate him while he's still playing. It included a snapshot of him working out in front of a Clippers sign, which raised some eyebrows from fans. Is Caitlin Clark playing today? Injury status for Fever vs. Wings, Paige Bueckers

The Indiana Fever begin a daunting stretch of five games in nine days with a matchup against the Dallas Wings on Friday, a contest that features two No. 1 overall draft picks in Aliyah Boston (2023) and Paige Bueckers (2025). Caitlin Clark, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft, however, won't be available. The Fever All-Star guard has been ruled out of Friday's matchup against the Wings with a right groin injury that has kept her sidelined for six consecutive games. Clark suffered the injury in the final minute of the Fever's win over Connecticut on July 15, another setback in Clark's injury-riddled sophomore season. Clark had never missed a collegiate or professional game entering the 2025 WNBA season, but she's missed 14 of the Fever's 27 games this year. Friday will mark her 15th absence from a regular-season game. Indiana has managed to stay in playoff contention without Clark — the team is 8-5 with Clark in the lineup and 7-7 without her on the floor — but the Fever hope Clark's extended absence will give her enough time to fully recover to ensure she's ready to go later in the season and in the playoffs. The Fever (15-12) are in sixth place in the WNBA standings. Here's everything you need to know about Clark's injury status: Is Caitlin Clark playing today? Injury status for Fever-Wings Clark was ruled out of the Fever's matchup against the Wings on Friday with a right groin injury. There is no timetable for Clark's return. How many games has Caitlin Clark missed this season? Friday will be the 15th regular-season game that Clark has missed due to injuries this year. Clark was previously sidelined five games with a left quad injury and four games with a left groin injury. She also missed the Fever's Commissioner's Cup win over the Minnesota Lynx on July 1, in addition to the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game and the 3-point competition held in Indianapolis. Last month, Clark said battling injuries has been "challenging mentally," despite doing everything "to put myself in a position to be available the rest of the year." How was Caitlin Clark injured? Clark suffered a right groin injury in the final minute of the Fever's 85-77 victory over the Sun at TD Garden in Boston on July 15. With 39.1 seconds remaining in the contest, Clark completed a bounce pass to Kelsey Mitchell to put the Fever up 84-75. After the pass, Clark immediately grabbed for her right groin and grimaced as she gingerly walked over and headbutted the stanchion. She did not return to the game. On July 24, the Fever said Clark's medical evaluations confirmed there's "no additional injuries or damage," but the team said it will be cautious with Clark's rehab and recovery. Caitlin Clark stats Clark is averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and a career-high 8.8 assists in 13 games this season. Her assists average is the second-highest in the league, behind Phoenix's Alyssa Thomas (9.2). The USA TODAY app gets you to the heart of the news — fast. What we learned from Indiana football's first week of fall camp

BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football was back on the practice field this week for the start of fall camp. Veteran linebacker Aiden Fisher told reporters after Thursday's practice that the continuity on IU's coaching staff and experienced roster has made this a 'seamless' offseason for the Hoosiers as they eye a return to the College Football Playoff. 'We are way further ahead than we have been in the past,' Fisher said, after Thursday's practice. Indiana retained all but one assistant coach from last year's staff while bringing back a veteran-laden squad that includes seven players who earned All-Big Ten honors last season. 'I think the staff, we know what to expect from one another,' Indiana coach Curt Cignetti said. 'The experienced guys that we have a long history with, the same. To bring in experienced guys from other programs is good.' Here's what stood out during the first week of camp: IU football news: 5 (plus) Indiana football players with biggest breakout potential in 2025 Re-live Indiana football's memorable run to the College Football Playoff with our commemorative book Indiana offensive linemen Drew Evans and Kahlil Benson were full participants at practice on Wednesday and Thursday. They are looking to make up for lost time having missed spring camp while recovering from injuries. The Hoosiers didn't disclose Benson's injury, but Evans returned to action less than nine months after suffering an achilles injury. 'It is a credit to them and their hard work to get back on the field,' IU center Pat Coogan said, after Thursday's practice. 'During the spring they were there mentally and physically watching everything -- obviously they couldn't do much skill-wise and football-wise.' Coogan, who exited spring as the starting center on the first-team offense, told reporters that he's been working alongside Evans to open fall camp. The former Wisconsin walk-on started nine games for the Hoosiers last season at left guard. 'Super strong guy and he knows his stuff really well,' Coogan said. 'Excited to keep growing that relationship with those interior guys.' Baldwin is doing all the right things to earn early playing time. The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder looks the part, but his off the field approach is similar to the one Ponds relied on to win a starting role as a true freshman for Cignetti's staff at JMU in 2023. 'He brings a lot of energy,' Ponds said. 'He's a young guy, he's wanting to learn. He reminds me of myself kind of, he asks questions about everything, and he wants to learn. I see he's got a lot of potential in himself. I definitely see a little bit of myself in him.' He's in the mix at safety where the Hoosiers are trying to build around returning starter Amare Ferrell. Baldwin is looking to jump over some experienced names in the secondary that include Bryson Bonds along with sixth-year transfers Devan Boykin (NC State) and Louis Moore (Ole Miss). Bonds has played in 47 career games, but he's had a more prominent role on special teams than on defense, but Boykin and Moore both have starting experience. More: 'We are really playing for postseason opportunities': Indiana football's recent scheduling moves explained Coogan offered an interesting perspective on what helps Indiana offensive line coach Bob Bostad get the most from his players. The fifth-year senior played for three different offensive line coaches (Jeff Quinn, Harry Hiestand and Joe Rudolph) during his time at Notre Dame. 'He's very intentional with his work,' Coogan said. 'He's very intentional with what he wants to see out of his guys. There's no real gray area. He's detailed, he's very detail-orientated, his meetings are set up that way.' Bostad helped IU's offense make major strides over the past two seasons. The Hoosiers only gave up 21 sacks last year and averaged more than 150 rushing yards per game for the first time since 2018. They lost an expected starter (Nick Kidwell) before the season even started and had to replace Evans just days before facing Michigan. 'He knows how to work guys on the field as well,' Coogan said. 'The drills we do are very purposeful and they translate directly into how the defense is going to play in practice or a game. Everything has a purpose, I think that's why we see success at the line of scrimmage.' Bostad rivals defensive tackles coach Pat Kuntz as the most vocal of IU's assistant coaches at practice. He doesn't hesitate to stop the proceedings if he sees something he doesn't like, and a sternly-worded message is sure to follow.
