The wait is over for Maxton Hall – The World Between Us fans. Prime Video has announced that the hit romantic drama will return with Season 2 on November 7, and dropped a teaser that's already set social media buzzing.
The series, set in a posh British boarding school but produced in Germany, continues the turbulent love story between Ruby (Harriet Herbig-Matten) and James (Damian Hardung). The newly released teaser gives a glimpse into the emotional rollercoaster awaiting viewers. In one scene, Ruby watches James partying with other girls under strobe lights. In another, James is seen being led away at school while looking back longingly at a heartbroken Ruby.
The official synopsis teases deeper drama: 'Those who fly high can also fall low… After their passionate night together in Oxford and her greatest life goal within reach, everything seems to be going perfectly for Ruby. But a stroke of fate in James' family changes everything and James himself, of all people, brings her back from cloud nine to a harsh reality. Ruby is devastated. She has never had such strong feelings for anyone as she does for James – and never before has anyone hurt her so deeply."
Ruby finds herself wishing for her old life, where she wasn't entangled in the elite world of Maxton Hall. But forgetting James proves impossible — especially since he's trying everything to win her back.
Returning cast members include Sonja Weißer, Ben Felipe, Fedja van Huêt, Runa Greiner, Justus Riesner, Andrea Guo, Frederic Balonier, and Eli Riccardi. The upcoming season follows the events of the second book in Mona Kasten's best-selling young adult trilogy.
Season 1, which premiered in May 2024, quickly became a breakout hit. With speculation already building around a possible Season 3, fans are eager to see how the story evolves.
Maxton Hall is directed once again by Martin Schreier. The show is produced by Markus Brunnemann and Ceylan Yildirim, who also returns as head writer, along with Juliana Lima Dehne and Marlene Melchior.

Frederick Forsyth, author of ‘The Day of the Jackal', dies at 86; a look back at his 5 most iconic thrillers

Frederick Forsyth, the British author of 'The Day of the Jackal' and numerous best-selling thrillers, died at the age of 86 after suffering a brief illness. The piece of news was shared by his literary agent on Monday. On early Monday, Jonathan Lloyd, the literary agent of Forsyth, said that the author died at his home, surrounded by his family. He said, "We mourn the passing of one of the world's greatest thriller writers." Following this, The Jackal went on to be made into a blockbuster film starring Edward Fox as the assassin. Not only this, but last year, a Netflix remake was also made with Eddie Redmayne playing the lead role. Moreover, according to Forsyth, he attributed most of his success to 'luck', recalling how a bullet just missed him during his coverage of the brutal Nigerian civil war between 1967 and 1970. Total sadness to hear my friend #FrederickForsyth, author, has passed. Wonderful memories of such a marvelous trip to India with his late wife Sandy. His academic knowledge of places, palaces & geography was bar none. He'll be much missed for so many reasons. Harry Potter fans furious after HBO casts Italian actor as Parvati Patil in upcoming TV series: ‘So much for diversity'

The casting announcement for the upcoming Harry Potter TV series has sparked significant discussions—especially among the Indian fanbase—following Monday night's reveal that Italian actor Alessia Leoni will portray Parvati Patil, one of the beloved side characters from J.K. Rowling's wizarding world. Social media backlash quickly followed, with fans on Reddit and X (formerly Twitter) voicing frustration at the choice. A Reddit user captured the sentiment: 'I'm so sick of Hollywood casting biracial, half white desi actors.' Another remarked: 'I'll gladly delete this and eat my words if she is Desi, but with a name like Alessia Leoni I don't have much hope.' On X, one user asked: 'This is frustrating. Why cast an Italian who just looks brown to play Parvati Patil? They easily could've cast an actual Indian actress. So much for 'diversity' @HBO. No hate to the kid, but still…' Monday also saw the announcement of nine additional roles in the new series: Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley; Lox Pratt and Johnny Flynn as Draco and Lucius Malfoy; Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan; Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown; Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby as Petunia and Vernon Dursley; and Bertie Carvel as Cornelius Fudge. This controversy echoes earlier backlash over the casting of Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, a character originally portrayed by Alan Rickman in the films. At that time, fans expressed outrage that the new series chose a non-white actor for a role widely identified with a white British wizard—an uproar that resurfaced debates about fidelity to the source material and authentic representation. To understand why casting authenticity matters so much to Indian fans, it helps to look back at the original Patil portrayals. In the film series, Parvati and Padma Patil were played by British actors of Bangladeshi heritage, Shefali Chowdhury and Afshan Azad, who were discovered through local school auditions. Therefore, in sum, the current casting decision has reignited frustration among fans who feel authentic representation is being overlooked once more.
