'Got hammered on a f**king boat': Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski call out Tom Brady for being a lame teammate off the field

For two players who bled for Tom Brady on the field, Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski never got the off-field celebration they say they deserved. Years removed from their
Super Bowl
triumphs, both Edelman and Gronk are now speaking out—not with bitterness, but with a raw honesty that's turning heads across the NFL world.
Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski say Tom Brady's fun side was nowhere to be found in New England
On the 'Dudes on Dudes' podcast, Julian Edelman didn't hold back when he labeled Tom Brady 'pretty lame' during their New England years. 'Except for when he won the Super Bowl for Tampa Bay and got hammered on a f**king boat,' he said. 'Where was that f**king Tom around us?'
Gronkowski agreed, recalling how his dream of getting drunk with Brady never materialized, even after a decade of shared history. 'That's why I went to Tampa,' he joked.
'Just wanted that moment where I could actually get wasted with Tom. Guess what? He was on a separate boat. I still never had a drink with Tom.'
One of the only times Gronk saw Brady take a shot was at the Kentucky Derby. Even then, Brady recoiled at the sip of Fireball. 'Like, 'I'm putting this alcohol in my body?'' Gronk said, laughing.
Edelman and Gronk weren't just teammates; they were Brady's most trusted soldiers. Edelman had to 'earn Tom's trust by grinding through practice after practice,' while Gronk transformed his lifestyle to stay in sync with Brady's obsessive regimen.

But the payoff, they say, wasn't measured in Super Bowl rings alone—it should've included a bit more camaraderie.
Instead, their postgame celebrations were avocado ice cream, not tequila-fueled boat parties.
In a twist of irony, both Gronkowski and Edelman recently appeared in a Tiffany & Co. ad with Peyton Manning, the longtime rival they once lived to defeat. Edelman even wrote, 'Playing the field. Sorry @tombrady.'
It's a statement that suggests some emotional distance from their former QB, despite years of loyalty.
The final kicker? Manning once joked that New England owed him royalties for running one of their signature plays. Belichick laughed. Brady commented, 'Checks in the mail.'

After surgery, Russian teenager returns to compete from her bed, wins both rounds

Khlypovka Lada missed four rounds due to surgery and hospitalisation but still has two points from two games at the championship Panaji: Khlypovka Lada refused to give up. The Russian teenager had a fall after the opening ceremony of the World Chess Championship for Persons with Disabilities in Dona Paula last week. She needed surgery and three days of hospitalisation for a fractured leg. But instead of simply recuperating after being discharged, she decided to compete from her hotel bed. 'It would have been a shame to come here and not play,' Lada, who is a wheelchair player, told TOI, using Google translate to communicate. 'My mother (who is accompanying) said it's okay (if you don't play), and the decision is up to me. But I didn't want to give up so easily.' In keeping with the tournament's spirit of inclusion and empathy, the wheelchair player was allowed to play from her room itself. Lada remained on the bed while her opponent sat on the chair across the chess board, with two arbiters – officials who oversees matches and ensure that the rules are followed -- monitoring the game. The 16-year-old first won against Dushyant Pal (India), and after missing four rounds, picked up another win against Iniyan Gopinathan in the sixth. She is next drawn to face Kanishri R P (India) on Monday 'My leg hurts a bit, the pain is there, but I can bear this and play. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Up to 70% off | Shop Sale Libas Undo We went to a good hospital here, the doctors treated us well and I must say there are very friendly people in Goa,' said Lada. Lada arrived in Goa last week with plenty of expectations. At the last World Chess Championship for Persons with Disabilities in Armenia, the Russian teenager had won plenty of honours: first among junior girls, second among women in a wheelchair and third overall. In blitz, Lada achieved the best result among all participating women. In Goa, it did not go according to plan. 'Because of this injury, I missed out on the chance to take part in the blitz and rapid (championships). I missed four rounds too. Now there are not too many rounds left but I will keep fighting till the end,' she said. Born with a genetic disability and on a wheelchair since age six, Lada does not know much about India, just that 'it's the birthplace of chess,' a sport she fell in love after watching the 2016 World Championship title clash between Magnus Carlsen and his childhood rival, Sergey Karjakin. Her idols include Mikhail Botvinnik, generally regarded as the Patriarch of the Soviet Chess School, five-time world champion Carlsen, Anatoly Karpov, at his peak the highest-rated player in the world for over 100 months, and Alexander Alekhine, who is reported to have played some of the finest games the world has ever seen. 'Chess is a great sport, playing really makes me happy,' said Lada. 'Here, I can't go outside (in the hall) and play which makes me sad, but I will try and win from the bed itself.' That should make her happy, again.

Ganpati mandals rejoice as HC permits idol immersion in sea

Mumbai: Ganpati mandals are relieved at Thursday's Bombay High Court order permitting PoP idols over 6 ft tall to be immersed in the sea. They had been wary of organising full fledged celebrations in the absence of proper permissions. Now that the curbs have been lifted they are going ahead full steam with their usual tall moortis, decoration and fundraising. Ankur Lad, spokesperson for Khetwadi Cha Vighnaharta of Girgaum, said artificial tanks were not suited to tall moortis. "PoP idols of 20-25 ft contain metal and iron rods and frames inside for support. In fact even clay idols of that height, like Girgaon Cha Raja, have wood inside. Such idols won't dissolve at all, because how deep can you make artificial ponds," he reasoned. Even as the tug of war over PoP was under way, some mandals voluntarily switched to eco-friendly raw material. Rajendra Sawant, secretary of the 77-year-old Ambedkar Nagar mandal in Worli, said, "Our 10 ft idol was usually made of PoP. But after the earlier ban and concerns over environment safety we used a clay idol. This year it is carved from tissue paper. The decision had to be made quickly as we were sceptical about waiting for the decision over PoP immersion. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Private Browsers That Keep You Safe vividtrendlab Undo " You Can Also Check: Mumbai AQI | Weather in Mumbai | Bank Holidays in Mumbai | Public Holidays in Mumbai Abhinay Hate of Kandivali Cha Vighnaharta said their idol is 14 ft tall. "We too were tense about the ban even though we immerse our idol in a pond in any case. But this time there is no confirmation yet for the protocol to be followed at the pond where we usually go. The HC order is a big relief, though." The prominent Chandanwadi Ganeshotsav mandal near Marine Lines hosts a 26 ft tall moorti. Secretary Prathamesh Sakpal said, "Thousands of Ganpati idols are immersed every year amid processions that include lakhs of people. It would be problematic if there was an interruption." In Andheri West, the Saat Bangla Cha Raja stands 22 ft tall. Vice president Amith Kadam said, "Immersion of tall idols beyond 6 ft would have been impossible to execute in artificial tanks. Thanks to the HC order we can now continue our preparations with ease." Santosh Narkar, newly elected chairman of Khetwadi Cha Raja in Girgaum said their idol is 31 ft tall. "Our moortikar Aniket Shevale has carved an outstanding idol this year."
