Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi rules out tie up with INDIA bloc for Bihar polls

on Monday firmly ruled out any alliance with the INDIA bloc (Mahagathbandhan) for the upcoming
Bihar assembly elections
, stating that "one-sided love will not work."
The clarification comes after AIMIM's Bihar state president, Akhtarul Iman, had written to RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, proposing entry into the Mahagathbandhan to avoid vote division that could benefit the
BJP
. However, the RJD responded by urging AIMIM not to contest the elections at all if it was truly committed to defeating the BJP-while also accusing the AIMIM of acting as a 'B-team' of the BJP.
Speaking to a news agency, Owaisi dismissed these allegations and said the party is exploring alternatives, including the formation of a third front.
"The accusations against us are lies-they fear a leader from the poor and oppressed rising to power," he said. Owaisi confirmed that AIMIM will contest the Bihar elections, either as part of a third front or independently. "Whatever happened is in front of the people.
We are committed to contesting with full strength. We are being defamed because we represent Dalits, Adivasis, Backward Classes, and Muslims. They want Bihar's poor to remain political slaves," he charged.

Referring to the 'targeting' of Muslims and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in poll-bound Bihar, Mufti said the community is being pushed into 'desperate situations'. 'Under the pretext of targeting 'Bangladeshis' and 'Rohingyas', Muslims are being pushed into increasingly desperate situations. Disturbing media reports have even suggested that some were forced into the sea in attempts to expel them from India. As you rightly highlighted during your visit to Assam, the large-scale demolition of thousands of Muslim homes is deeply troubling. The latest development the SIR being conducted in Bihar appears to be yet another systematic effort to dispossess, disempower, and ultimately disenfranchise Muslims, effectively erasing their presence both symbolically and literally,' she said in the letter. The former CM said while India rightly expresses rage over the treatment of Hindu minority in Pakistan and Bangladesh, there is 'complete silence' when Muslims are targeted in our country. 'There is an unsettling silence, a fear that prevents many from speaking up. As a politician from one of the only Muslim-majority regions that chose to join the Indian Union largely due to the vision and secular character of your great-grandfather, I feel extremely helpless at times. Placing great hope in your leadership I urge you to continue speaking up for a minority that is being steadily marginalised and pushed to the fringes of Indian society,' she said.

Adivasi organisations observe bandh against GO 49 in Telangana's tribal heartland of Adilabad district
The Agency areas of the erstwhile Adilabad district witnessed a near total bandh in response to a call given by the Adivasi Hakkula Porata Samithi (Tudum Debba) against the Government Order No 49 announcing 'Kumram Bheem Conservation Reserve'. The GO 49, dated May 30, 2025, declared the tiger corridor straddling between the Kawal Tiger Reserve in Telangana and the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra as the conservation reserve. Adivasi organisations like Tudum Debba have been vociferously opposing the GO 49, saying the proposed conservation reserve will lead to largescale displacement of Adivasis from their traditional habitat and loss of their forest-based livelihoods, leaving them with uncertain future. The bandh evoked good response in the agency areas of Telangana's tribal heartland of former composite Adilabad district with shops and other business establishments downing their shutters voluntarily in response to the bandh call. The impact of the bandh was felt in most parts of Kumram Bheem Asifabad and Adilabad districts. Normal life was cripped in several agency mandals in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district. The TGSRTC bus services were disrupted for a few hours on Monday morning. The bandh evoked partial response in Mancherial and Nirmal districts, sources said. Members of various Adivasi organisations staged a sit-in at the bus depot in Adilabad town on Monday morning. Addressing the demonstrators, Tudum Debba State leader Godam Ganesh alleged that the GO 49 is violative of the rights of Adivasi communities in scheduled areas protected by special legislations like the Panchayat (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act. The proposed conservation reserve will not only lead to largescale displacement of Adivasis from more than 300 tribal settlements along the fringes of forests in the erstwhile Adilabad district but also snatch away their traditional livelihoods and threaten their age-old traditions and customs, he said. He demanded that the GO 49 be immediately scrapped to protect the interests of tribal people.

"No Closure For 180 Families": Asaduddin Owaisi After Mumbai Blasts Verdict
New Delhi: Hours after the Bombay High Court acquitted 12 convicts in the 2006 Mumbai train blasts case, noting that the prosecution had "utterly failed" to prove the charges, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi asked if the government would act against the investigators who probed the serial train bombings that killed 189 people. The AIMIM chief said 12 Muslim men spent 18 years in jail for a "crime they didn't commit," and the families of those killed in the blasts have "no closure" today. Rigged pressure cookers were used for the bombings to amplify the damage caused. The first occurred at 6.24 pm -- rush hour due to people returning from work -- and the last at 6.35 pm. The bombs were placed in first-class compartments of trains from Churchgate. They exploded near the stations of Matunga Road, Mahim Junction, Bandra, Khar Road, Jogeshwari, Bhayandar and Borivali. In 2015, a trial court convicted 12 people in this case, sentencing five of them to death and the others to life imprisonment. Their conviction was set aside today. "Innocent people are sent to jail and then years later, when they are released from jail, there is no possibility for reconstruction of their lives. From last 17 years, these accused are in jail. They haven't stepped out even for a day. The majority of their prime life is gone," Mr Owaisi said. "In such cases where there is a public outcry, the approach by police is always to first assume guilt and then go from there. Police officers take press conferences in such cases, and the way the media covers the case, it kind of decides the guilt of a person. In many such terror cases, investigating agencies have failed us miserably," he added. Mr Owaisi said two of those acquitted today lost both their parents when they were in prison. Another lost his wife without having a final conversation with her.
