Knibb roars to victory women's race in Vancouver
Knibb lost the first T100 race of her career in San Francisco two weeks ago but was back on top form in Canada, as she took the tape over two minutes ahead of Julie Derron.
The American's strength on the bike once again proved pivotal, as she pulled ahead from the pack alongside Jess Learmonth before closing out victory on the run.
Learmonth eventually finished third to earn her first T100 podium behind Derron, and Knibb was pleased to have the Brit to battle against for much of the contest.
Knibb said: 'My run felt a lot better than San Francisco. My coach made a few changes to my training to help me, and it really helped, so thank you.
'It was really fun racing with Jess. I'm really pleased she got a Hot Shot [for the T100 series] and she made me better out there and I was really grateful for it.
'It was a fun race; it's so much better having Jess. Like on the technical section I wasn't taking it as well as she was, so I ended up following her line and wheel and that made me better.
'That is the fun thing about a lap course, is that you can learn on each lap and get better. She was really strong on that section, and I was better at others and I'm glad that we could trade off each other.'
Knibb's victory leaves her second in the overall standings, nine points behind Derron and four points ahead of Kate Waugh, who was absent in Vancouver.
Derron took the win in San Francisco a fortnight ago but was not quite able to make it back-to-back victories, as the Swiss athlete was left to rue difficult swim and bike legs.
'I gave myself quite a bit of work after the swim,' she said. 'My swim was terrible today, I don't know what happened.
'Then I found myself a bit in no man's land on the bike, but I just had to focus and keep pushing away and onto the run I knew I was aiming for the podium and I was just hunting down Jess, which really kept me honest and kept me going all out until the finish line.
'To come second when things didn't go that well, I'm really pleased with.
'After Singapore the goal was to get back on the podium in these two races [San Francisco and Vancouver] and I've done that so I couldn't ask for more.'

Although their competitive spirit persists, Woods and Thomas are also neighbours in Florida and have grown close over time. After Thomas and his wife, Jillian Wisniewski, welcomed their first child in 2024, he began to see a softer, more personal side of Woods. At the end of last season, Thomas spoke about Woods' support during that major life transition. "He's been unbelievable. I've seen a new side of him. I mean, it's just been really cool," Thomas said. "He's always checking in, wanting to see how I'm doing, how Jill's doing, how Molly's doing. He knew when Jill's surgery was and he called the night before asking how everybody's doing. Tommy Fury finally reveals truth behind his Jake Paul rematch snub
The two boxing stars have been teasing a rematch ever since they first went head-to-head in Saudi Arabia back in 2023 Tommy Fury has admitted he turned down a rematch with Jake Paul, stating his desire for at least two or three warm-up bouts first. The pair initially squared off in Saudi Arabia back in 2023, where despite being knocked down in the final round, Fury emerged victorious on points. Since then, there's been plenty of verbal sparring between the two, fuelling speculation about a potential rematch, but nothing has come to fruition so far. In the new BBC iPlayer documentary series "Tommy: The Good. The Bad. The Fury", the 26 year old boxer explains why he declined a rematch with Paul, which was scheduled for June 28. Instead, 'Problem Child' Paul went on to fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., failing to secure a knockout but still sailing to a points victory. During one episode, Fury Snr receives a call from family lawyer Robert, who queries whether his son would be prepared for a rematch with Paul on June 28th. "Listen, that is the oldest trick isn't it?" retorts Fury Snr, reports All Out Fighting. "Tommy has not boxed in 18 months." The camera then cuts to a solo interview with Tommy's father, who asserts: "My job as a father is to get the right opponent. Get him in the ring. Get some rounds under our belt. Get the hand tested and see where we go from there." The video then cuts back to the family gathered around the campfire, with Fury Snr still engaged in a phone call. He continued to tell his lawyer: "I think the answer on that one is going to be no, Robert. We want to be ready and we just want to beat these guys." After rejecting the rematch, Fury sought his father's opinion. A rather stern Fury Snr responded: "They are trying to get you at your worst possible time. They are thinking 'he has had an 18 month lay off, come off hand surgery, how good can he be?'" The scene concludes with 'TNT' disclosing that he needs a few more bouts before facing his adversary again. "It'll be interesting to know how much they were offering. I know myself that I need two or three fights," he stated. Earlier in April, Fury was accused by Paul's promotional partner Nakisa Bidarian of declining "multiple offers" to square off with the American once more. In a chat with The Sun, Bidarian claimed: "Tommy was offered an unbelievable deal to headline versus Jake on Netflix and they had a false sense of expectations. "But they've never made an offer once. And we've made multiple offers to try to make that rematch happen. And if you're very confident that you're gonna be Jake Paul, you should have jumped at the opportunity to fight him for $6million plus upside on Netflix. Fury stepped back into the ring in May for the first time in nearly two years, securing a points victory over Kenan Hanjalic. Jake Paul told his plan to fight Anthony Joshua after Gervonta Davis will fail
Jake Paul was reportedly in line to face both Anthony Joshua and Gervonta Davis, but the American has been dealt a blow as the heavyweight intends to move on Jake Paul has suffered a significant setback in his quest to secure bouts with both Anthony Joshua and Gervonta Davis after confirmation the heavyweight plans to pursue other opportunities. The YouTuber-turned-pugilist is set to return to action on November 14 against Davis in an exhibition match at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. This marks Paul's second outing of the year following his victory over former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in June. For several weeks, it appeared highly probable that the American would clash with Joshua in a heavyweight encounter early next year. The British fighter's promoter, Eddie Hearn, recently disclosed that the YouTuber-turned-boxer was leading the race for the fight. Paul was so keen to share the ring with the heavyweight sensation that he was prepared to accept just ONE PER CENT of the prize money. Nevertheless, despite the latest developments, Paul suggested he still has Joshua in his sights. In a message posted on X - previously Twitter - the social media star declared he would "kill David," then "slaughter Goliath" - possibly hinting at his desire to face the two-time heavyweight champion next year, reports All Out Fighting. "His nickname might be Tank, but I'm an FPV drone and I'm about to disable tiny boy. Yes, he's one of the top pound-for-pound boxers in the world, but my motto is anyone, anytime, anyplace, against all odds. And I like my odds. First, I am going to kill David, then I will go on to slaughter Goliath," Paul wrote. Despite cryptically revealing his plans for the next year or so, it now appears more likely that Joshua will move on - serving as a real blow to Paul. In an interview with FightHype, 'AJ's' promoter Hearn clarified the Brit's future, explaining that the 35 year old will fight another opponent in either January or February. When asked whether he has spoken to the British boxer since the Paul news, he replied: "No. He was quite chilled about the whole thing anyway. He is kind of like that guy that just says 'look, just phone me when it is done.' And, until it is done, I do not think a lot of it. I do not know if it is real or not, but whatever. We were talking about a fight in February or March. We knew that Jake Paul might fight November. I did not expect it to be Gervonta (Davis)." Hearn added: "I do not know how it affects us in terms of would we do the fight. The issue is, we are not going to wait until November. I won't speak on his behalf like that, but I doubt we commit to the fight until the Tank fight is over. We are not going to wait until November to make our move. So it is very likely that AJ will fight January, February, now probably against someone else." Regarding who's lined up next for Joshua - that remains unclear. The two-time world champion hasn't stepped into the ring since his devastating knockout loss to Daniel Dubois. Recently, Dubois' manager, Sam Jones, suggested that a rematch between the pair of heavyweights could be in the pipeline. "The rematch with AJ is always there. I'm a big AJ fan - I've made no secret of that," Jones told Sky Sports. "He's a proud man, and I know he won't want to keep seeing that knockout by Daniel on his screen. I'm sure he'll want to right that wrong. And if he ever wants to, then let's get it on. It's all about what's best for Daniel now - WBO, IBF, WBC. He belongs at the top table in heavyweight boxing. He's an elite-level heavyweight. All those names you mentioned - Daniel will be back in the mix."
