Two Fake Embassy Victims, Duped Of Rs 9 Lakh In Total, Reveal Ordeal
One victim is a resident of Delhi who gave Jain Rs 7 lakh in many installments for getting a job in Iraq.
Another person is from Uttar Pradesh's Deoria, who had given Jain Rs 2 lakh.
Jain was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police last week for impersonating an ambassador and allegedly duping people by promising overseas employment. The 47-year-old accused claimed to have acted as an adviser or ambassador to various non-existent or unrecognised 'micronations' such as "Westarctica", "Saborga", "Lodonia" or "Poulvia".
Officials said that Jain and his aide, Ehsan Ali Syed, had opened 22 shell companies in India and abroad. Many of these companies had names resembling well-known brands to mislead and trap victims. The names included East India Company UK Ltd, State Trading Corporation UK, Island General Trading in Dubai, Indira Overseas Ltd in Mauritius, and Cameroon Ispat SARL in Cameroon.
Additionally, cops said that Jain has at least 11 bank accounts - six in Dubai, three in Mauritius, one each in London and India.
They are probing Jain's possible link to a scam worth nearly Rs 300 crore, 162 foreign trips in 10 years, and multiple overseas bank accounts.
The STF recovered four cars with diplomatic number plates, 'diplomatic passports' of 12 micronations, documents with stamps of the External Affairs Ministry, stamps of 34 nations, Rs 44 lakh in cash, foreign currency, 18 diplomatic number plates, and a luxury watch collection from Jain's rented premises in Ghaziabad.
During the raids, the police also found photos of Jain with controversial "godman" Chandraswami and Saudi arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi. Further investigation revealed that it was Chandraswami who introduced Jain to Khassogi and conman Syed.

Red choora still on her wrists, wife bids adieu to Ludhiana soldier; cremated with full military honours
Draped in tricolor, the body of Lance Naik Pritpal Singh, 27, from Manupur village of Ludhiana district, reached his village Sunday and the cremation was performed with full military honours. He was killed in action during a gunfight with terrorists in South Kashmir's Kulgam, Friday. He had got married just five months ago. The family was expecting him on Diwali to celebrate the newlywed couple's first festival together in their recently renovated house. Speaking to The Indian Express, Harbans Singh, father of the deceased soldier said: 'We have been devastated. Just two days ago on August 8, my daughter-in-law Manpreet had applied mehendi (henna) on her hands as she was preparing for Raksha Bandhan festivities and had to go to parents house to tie Raakhi to her brother. My son (Pritpal) had sent some money to buy whatever she wanted for the festival. The same day my son died fighting the terrorists in Kashmir. She is our like our daughter.' Owner & tenant away, burglars break into house
Ludhiana: Burglars targeted a locked house in Basant City area of Daad village here recently, and made off with cash and gold. The incident took place while the owner of the house and the tenant were away. The owner mostly stays in Chandigarh, where he works with a builder. He has let out the first floor of his house to a tenant, who stays there with his family. The tenant was reportedly out of town when the burglars broke into the house. Gurdeep Singh Virk, 62, told police that he got a call from his tenant, Manjeet, on Aug 8. Manjeet said he would be going to Haryana with his family for a few days. When they returned, they found the house had been ransacked, and his two gold rings and a laptop had been stolen. As soon as Gurdeep came to know about it, he said he rushed to Ludhiana and checked his belongings as well. He too found that his gold kara, ring, some Canadian dollars, a laptop, a hard disk, and Rs 10,000 in cash were missing. Thereafter, he lodged a complaint with Sadar police. ASI Satvir Singh, the officer investigating the case, said CCTV cameras are installed in the house. However, the accused took away the DVR while fleeing. Bodakdev man loses 13.5cr in property fraud, wife files plaint
Ahmedabad: A 40-year-old resident of Bodakdev on Saturday lodged a complaint with Satellite police, accusing three men of defrauding her husband of Rs 13.52 crore. The alleged scam revolves around a fraudulent property investment scheme involving apartments and agricultural land. The complaint details that the husband, who runs a building material supply business for the past three years, was introduced to a property broker in June 2024. This broker allegedly then introduced the man to two others, who were partners in a real estate firm and reportedly developing residential projects in Ahmedabad. The trio allegedly convinced the man to invest in their upcoming project near Bopal with promises of lucrative returns. On July 23, 2024, the man agreed to buy five flats valued at a total of approximately Rs 8 crore. He paid Rs 5 crore through RTGS procured through a loan and an additional Rs 3 crore in cash, paid in instalments at the accused's office and residence. The accused provided a promissory note, assuring the delivery of property documents at a later date.
