Dhanashree Verma shares pics from Dubai
Dhanashree gave a sneak peek into her time out in Dubai on Instagram on Monday. She shared pictures of herself devouring street food like vada pav and pani puri, taking golden hour strolls, and visiting a temple – all while soaking up the laid-back vibe. She added that her trip was high on nostalgia.
Sharing the pictures, she wrote, 'Back in Dubai after what feels like a lifetime…Growing up here gave me so many core memories and seeing how much the city has evolved was both surreal and heartwarming. One of the highlights was visiting this beautiful Hindu temple—peaceful, powerful, and a reminder of how far this city has come in embracing culture and community…Grateful for the growth, the roots, and the reconnection."
This is her first post after Chahal spoke about their divorce and his decision to wear the Be Your Own Sugar Daddy T-shirt. While she has not responded directly to Chahal's statements, the post hits at inner growth and reconnection.
What did Yuzvendra Chahal say
Chahal got candid about his personal life and his divorce from Dhanashree Verma when he joined Raj Shamani for a chat on his YouTube channel.
"I think when my divorce happened, people alleged me of being a cheater. I have never cheated in my life. I am not that kind of a person. You won't find anyone more loyal than me. I think from my heart for my closed ones, always. I do not demand, I always give. When people don't know anything, but they keep blaming me, so you start thinking (otherwise)," Chahal said.
Talking about his decision to wear 'Be Your Own Sugar Daddy' T-Shirt on the day of his final divorce hearing, Chahal said, 'Kyunki saamne se kuch cheez hua tha, aur mera pehle mann nahi tha. Fir saamne se kuch hua toh fir maine kaaha ab sambhaal lo, ab mujhe nahi parwah kisi ki. Maine na kisi ko abuse kra, bus mujhe message dena tha (Something happened from the other side, and I didn't initially intend to respond. But then something happened, and I thought, 'Enough is enough, now I don't care about anyone.' I didn't abuse anyone; I just wanted to convey my message).'
Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree's marriage
Dhanashree and Chahal got married in a low-key ceremony in Gurugram back in December 2020. The two met during the Covid-19 pandemic when Chahal asked Dhanashree for dance lessons.
As per their petition, they separated in June 2022. On February 5, they filed a joint petition before the family court seeking divorce by mutual consent. They were granted a divorce in March this year.
At that time, there were also murmurs that Dhanashree was seeking ₹60 crore in alimony. However, Dhanashree's family dismissed the claims by issuing a statement. The statement read, "We are deeply outraged by the baseless claims being circulated about the alimony figure. Let me be absolutely clear—no such amount has ever been asked, demanded, or even offered. There is no truth to these rumours whatsoever. It is deeply irresponsible to publish such unverified information, dragging not just the parties but also their families into unnecessary speculation. Reckless reporting like this only causes harm, and we urge the media to exercise restraint, fact-check before spreading misinformation, and be respectful of everyone's privacy."

‘My ego is too fragile…': Scarlett Johansson opens up about why she doesn't use social media

Navigating this digital age feels no less than walking across a minefield. Struggling with your follower count, watching people upload their highlight reels on their social media accounts and feeling like you're not doing well enough in love, career, and life are feelings too many of us are familiar with. While it might feel like you are going through this journey all alone, Scarlett Johansson showed us that she is in the same boat as us. In an episode of The Skinny Confidential Him & Her podcast, the Black Widow actor opened up about why she avoids using social media, stating anxiety to be a major contributing factor. 'I honestly am too fragile a person to have social media. I can't. My ego is too fragile. I'm like a delicate flower. I like the smell, but..I have enough anxiety that would give me so much anxiety,' she said. Recalling a particularly self-introspective moment, the Avengers actor shared: 'I had Instagram once for three days, and then I started realising that I had spent 20 minutes looking at somebody's Instagram page, who has worked for a friend of mine, I'm like, 'Now I know you have a pitbull and two children, and now you live in Burbank' and I was like, 'What? I just wasted 17 minutes of my time!' 'I now feel like I should move to California, get this specific dog and change my life in all these ways. I felt so bad, like I was missing out on this random person's life. I can't do this,' Johansson added. spoke to counselling psychologist Srishti Vatsa and understood how social media fuels comparison and what can you do to navigate such situations. 'Comparison, in general, can lead to feelings of unhappiness and dissatisfaction. It's important to understand the difference between healthy competition and unhealthy comparison. The constant showcasing of lives on social media is often driven by a need for validation. Social media makes it easy to see what others are doing, which can lead to constant comparisons — especially in relationships,' explained Vatsa. According to her, what people show online is often far from reality, but many end up feeling inadequate in their own lives or relationships while chasing the 'perfect' images they see. This can lead to frustration, sadness, or resentment. Piyali Maity, Clinical Director, Counselling Operations, 1to1help, told that social media fuels comparison in several ways especially with 'selective sharing'. 'The reel v/s reality is the most common, where people share only the best portions of their lives which are far from day-to-day reality,' she said, adding that the widespread use of filters and editing tools further increases the gap between reality and what is portrayed, making others' lives appear more glamorous or perfect. Validation that one gets from increased followers, likes and comments on the posts unconsciously leads to comparing one's popularity or success with others. 'What makes it worse is the constant exposure to updates and fulfilling experiences of others which can trigger one to compare oneself and feel like they are missing out on something better in life,' Maity added. Social media can inspire some people, but it's important to recognize when it starts having a negative impact. If you find yourself constantly comparing, overspending to match trends, or feeling unhappy with your own life, it's time to take a step back and reflect. To avoid these pitfalls, Vatsa suggested setting limits on your social media usage and focus on spending time with people in real life. 'Mindless scrolling, especially when it's used to escape from reality, can be harmful. It creates a cycle of seeking quick dopamine hits, which can hurt productivity and mental well-being,' she concluded.

Chemirocha explore the depths of instrumental rock in their debut album

Instrumental rock albums are so rare in the Indian independent music landscape that when such an album comes along once in a while, there is behind it stories of perseverance and self-doubt. Chemirocha, who has just released their debut album Short Lived Fantasies of a Two Winged Dream, an instrumental album of progressive rock with a tinge of pop punk, also has such a story to share. Banker Arjun and sound designer Nitin began working on the album close to a decade ago. Both were part of the active independent rock music scene in Kerala in the mid-2000s, with Arjun being the guitarist for bands like Soulburn, while Nitin is the former bassist of metal band Chaos. When they got together in Kochi in 2016, they hit upon the idea of working on an album. 'Both of us have similar music tastes. One of the ideas was to blend modern progressive rock with the pop-punk and similar genres of the 2000s, all of which evoked a sense of nostalgia in us. We began making these songs on acoustic guitars with no idea how it would turn out. It took several jamming sessions over the years to take shape, during which we almost abandoned the whole project. Later, guitarist Fredy Rocazaurus of the Old School Studio helped us at a time when we did not have much of an idea about recording songs. Some of the demo tracks we mixed initially were sent to drummer Nishanth Hagjer, who joined with us to make the entire album, which was produced by Adam Bentley,' says Nithin. The eight tracks in the album do not follow the typical verse-chorus-verse structure, but progresses like a fluid lucid dream with the riffs repeating only rarely. As free flowing as the music is, they also appear to be the reactions of the musicians to specific happenings in their life, although both of them prefer to leave the task of interpretation to the listeners. 'Although we did consider having a vocalist initially, later we thought this is the way to go. One of the strengths of instrumental music is that it is open to interpretation in so many different ways in different countries and cultures,' says Arjun. In fact, the name of the band is also the result of such an interpretation. It was believed to be how the Kipsigis tribe in Kenya used to pronounce the name of legendary country musician Jimmie Rodgers. A track recorded by a musicologist in the 1950s of the tribe singing 'Chemirocha' is now on YouTube. Just like that story, the duo's 'two-winged dream' can evoke myriad interpretations and reactions, each unlike the other. But, unlike the album title, their music is not going to be a 'short-lived fantasy'.
