Sheer kurtas, pinstriped dhoti-skirts: Unmissable looks from Shantnu-Nikhil show
Celebs at Shantnu & Nikhil's India Couture Week 2025 show.
advertisementBut for fashion enthusiasts, the designers' couture was equally the cynosure.
At ICW 2025, Shantnu & Nikhil presented a stellar androgynous, workwear-meets-occasionwear collection. Think: a male model walking the ramp in all-sequinned trousers and a woman owning the room in a tailored bandhgala with a pinstriped, lungi-inspired skirt.
Men in sequin at the Shantnu & Nikhil show.
Away from the usual ICW shaadi staples(billowing lehengas, blingtastic sarees, and groom-specific sherwanis) Shantnu & Nikhil's collection was a refreshing departure. It doubled up as a refreshing amalgam of tailored trousers, easily reworn bandhgalas, skirts you'd want to take to the boardroom, and jackets you'd want to style in a hundred different ways.Menswear leaned into high drama this season. A standout look featured a shimmering silver sheer kurta set paired with matching pants, layered under a long, structured achkan. Sequins and sparkle turned pinstripe pants into statement-makers, while cascading strands of glistening embellishments flowed from shirt collars, looking like swinging ties.

Womenswear, too, blurred gendered sartorial lines with a striking mix of silhouettes and styles. Pinstriped lungi-inspired skirts were paired with achkans, while statement ruffled shirts met tailored work trousers, topped with pearl-laden coats. Even seemingly classic workwear - think crisp blazers, structured shirts, and pleated skirts - came with a fashionable twist, embellished with pearls, metallic accents, and couture-level detailing.
Lungi-skirts rule the ramp
With this collection titled 'Metropolis', the designers wanted to disrupt the vocabulary of Indian menswear. Well, they did that and how!- Ends

Sometimes in the world of glitz and glamour, some names get lost, only to be remembered after ages. There are so many actors and actresses who have given hit films but eventually vanished into thin air, leaving no traces. Today, we will discuss an actress whom Bollywood completely forgot. Despite this, Yash Chopra's actress has worked with names like Dev Anand, Raj Kapoor, Rajesh Khanna, and more. Bollywood's Forgotten Actress This actress played Kajol's grandmother in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, and the song Aye Meri Zohra Jabeen from the film Waqt was picturised on her. If it doesn't ring a bell, then let us tell you we are talking about none other than Achala Sachdev. Who Was Achala Sachdev? Born in 1920 in Peshawar, Pakistan, Achala Sachdev was an Indian actress who appeared in classic films of the Hindi-language film industry. She started her career as a child actress and later became known for mother and grandmother roles in Hindi films. Achala Sachdev's Last Days Were Painful For an actress who was loved by the audience for her roles, her last days were painful. She lived alone in her two-bedroom flat in Pune for over a decade, with just one attendant to look after her. Both her children were not in touch with her, and before her demise, she donated her house to an NGO. Like many stalwarts who contributed to the film industry for decades, she was also abandoned by the film industry.
