AMMAN — The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO), Al Quds University (AQU), and the Kids Operating Room Organisation (KOR) on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to support the Gaza HOPES initiative, which aims to establish three field hospitals in Gaza, specialising in maternal and child care, emergency services and surgery.
The three organisations will cooperate on the planning, deployment and continuous supply of medical resources for these hospitals, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Their joint efforts will focus on supporting affected communities and optimising resources to ensure the successful establishment and long-term sustainability of these facilities, the JHCO said.
JHCO Secretary General Hussein Shibli emphasised that Gaza's healthcare system is facing unprecedented challenges, making the support of emergency hospitals and medical facilities a top priority.
'Through this partnership, JHCO will play a crucial role in facilitating the delivery of medical aid and ensuring the continuity of essential healthcare services to save lives during these difficult times,' Shibli said.
This initiative is part of JHCO's ongoing relief efforts, which span various sectors to address the needs of the people of Gaza, Shibli said.
Al Quds University President Imad Abu Kishk underscored the urgency of the initiative, highlighting the dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
He stressed that the establishment of field hospitals is not only a necessity but a moral obligation that must not be delayed. "These hospitals will provide critical medical care to children and mothers who are in urgent need of assistance," he added.
Abu Kishk also reaffirmed the university's commitment to leveraging its resources, expertise and international partnerships to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
He expressed gratitude to the JHCO for its ongoing support and cooperation in this vital humanitarian effort.

Jordan field hospital in Gaza's Khan Younis distributes over 1,000 food parcels
AMMAN — Following the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah, the Jordanian Field Hospital Command in South Gaza on Saturday distributed over 1,000 food parcels in Khan Younis. The parcels, containing essential items such as rice, flour, and cooking oil, were delivered in cooperation with the Jordanian Hashemite Charitable Organisation (JHCO) through various local charitable associations and institutions, aiming to meet urgent needs and strengthen community resilience. The hospital commander said that the aid reflects Jordan's continued dedication to humanitarian efforts in Gaza, particularly in light of the severe challenges facing families in the Strip, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Palestinians in Gaza expressed their deep gratitude to His Majesty and Jordan's steadfast support, voicing pride in the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) for their ongoing medical and humanitarian efforts in the Strip. Jordan runs two military field hospitals in Gaza, one in the Strip's north, which was established in 2009 following the war in 2008. The second was established in Khan Younis in the south in November 2023 at the peak of the Israeli war of aggression on the coastal enclave that erupted on October 7, 2023. Besides the field hospitals in Gaza, the JAF established the Jordanian field hospital in Nablus in late November 2023 and has conducted over 900 surgeries and received more than 83,000 patients ever since. The Kingdom, in cooperation with the World Central Kitchen, has also dispatched a mobile bakery with a production capacity of 3,500 loaves of bread per hour to Gaza.

Jordan Armed Forces conduct three airdrops to deliver aid to Gaza Strip, one in cooperation with UAE - Jordan News
The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) and the United Arab Emirates on Sunday conducted three airdrops to deliver humanitarian aid and food to several locations in the Gaza Strip. اضافة اعلان The airdrops were carried out by Royal Jordanian Air Force and UAE Air Force C-130 aircraft, carrying 25 tonnes of food and basic necessities, in light of the difficult humanitarian conditions facing the Strip. These airdrops are a continuation of Jordan's ongoing efforts, in cooperation with other countries and partner humanitarian organisations, to support the Palestinian people, and in coordination with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO), in order to alleviate humanitarian suffering and support the people of Gaza in overcoming the challenges imposed by the war. The JAF have carried out 127 airdrops since the war started, in addition to 267 airdrops conducted in cooperation with other countries. Airdrops represent an additional means to deliver aid within a short time, allowing for the provision of urgent humanitarian and relief aid to areas that are difficult to access. However, airdrops do not supplant the delivery of aid by land, as ground convoys are the primary, most effective, and prioritised means of delivering aid. The JAF continue to dispatch aid convoys by land in coordination with the JHCO, the World Food Programme, and the World Central Kitchen, with the number of convoys sent since the start of the war standing at 181, comprising 7,932 trucks. As part of the medical response in Gaza, Jordanian field hospitals in the north and south of the Strip continue to provide treatment to injured and sick Gazans. So far, more than 120,588 patients have received treatment at the field hospital in the north of Gaza, while 362,389 patients have been treated at the field hospital in the south. More than 36,000 major and minor surgeries have been performed at these hospitals, and their cadres have fitted 532 upper and lower limb prostheses for Gazan amputees as part of the Restoring Hope Initiative. Also within Jordan's humanitarian efforts in support of Gaza, 112 injured and sick children, accompanied by 241 family members, have been evacuated for treatment in Jordanian hospitals as part of the Jordan Medical Corridor initiative launched by His Majesty King Abdullah II, which aims to treat 2,000 sick children from Gaza.

Charity Commission: Israeli Occupation Obstructs Aid Flow; 150 Trucks Await Distribution - Jordan News
The Secretary-General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), Dr. Hussein Al-Shibli, confirmed that the Israeli occupation is deliberately obstructing the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza amid a worsening food and humanitarian crisis in the besieged strip. اضافة اعلان Speaking to Husna Radio on Monday morning, Al-Shibli said the suffering endured by the people of Gaza—hunger, thirst, and systematic killing—defies description, adding that feelings of pain and responsibility now dominate all those working in the relief field. Expressing his own emotions and those of the aid teams monitoring the situation in Gaza, he stated: "One's heart breaks when witnessing what is happening. The sense of responsibility is overwhelming in light of the deliberate starvation, thirst, and killing of families." Arbitrary Measures and Intentional Obstruction of Aid Convoys Al-Shibli pointed out that Israel is engaging in unprecedented obstruction of aid delivery into Gaza. He explained that while trucks are being allowed to enter through the northern crossing, the occupation forces are preventing their contents from being distributed within Gaza. 'Three recent convoys, each comprising around 50 trucks, entered through the crossing but remained stuck there, with Israel preventing their distribution,' he said. Aid Workers Killed During Distributions He revealed that several relief workers inside Gaza have been killed while attempting to distribute food aid, highlighting the severe risks facing even those trying to save lives. He stressed that the organization is utilizing all available means—including coordination with the Jordanian Armed Forces and international organizations—to overcome these obstacles. Severe Shortages and Skyrocketing Costs Food supplies, especially flour, have become extremely scarce, Al-Shibli explained. The price of a single kilogram of flour in Gaza has now exceeded 30 Jordanian dinars. Some trucks cost as much as 600,000 dinars due to the extreme conditions and the unprecedented costs of transportation, storage, and distribution. Hundreds of Aid Trucks Ready for Daily Delivery Al-Shibli stated that the organization has large quantities of ready-to-ship food supplies and can sustain the entry of hundreds of aid trucks daily once clearance is granted. He emphasized that over 150 trucks loaded with flour and other essentials are currently inside Gaza but are still waiting for authorization to distribute their contents. Bakeries and Community Kitchens Still Operating Despite the crisis, the organization continues to operate several bakeries and community kitchens in northern and central Gaza, distributing bread and meals even amid severe shortages. Some bakeries have had to reduce daily output in order to reach as many needy families as possible. Royal Leadership in Diplomatic and Humanitarian Efforts Al-Shibli praised the tireless efforts led by His Majesty King Abdullah II on the international stage, including engagement with European and American leaders to secure the flow of humanitarian aid. He emphasized that these political efforts remain the most vital hope for preventing mass starvation in Gaza.
