FORMER Rangers attacker Josh Windass has revealed Steven Gerrard scolded him for the way he left the club after he got off the team bus, got into his car and drove away.
Windass exited the Ibrox outfit joining then-Championship side Wigan on transfer deadline day in August 2018.

But the wheels were set in motion when Windass shared Gerrard took him off the team bus ahead of crucial Europa League match against Maribor at Ibrox to say there was interest in him.
And it all quickly unravelled from there.
Windass told the Open Goal podcast: "I started the first two games of the season then left on deadline day.
"I had a nightmare. They activated my buyout clause.
"He got me off the bus and told me, [there's] a bid in for you.
"I have got to tell you because you're not going to leave to go there'.. and then I left."
The Sheffield Wednesday striker added: " I didn't have an agent at the time. It was a bad decision.
"But I just got in my car and went down the motorway.
"[Rangers assistant] Mick Beale was texting me, saying you're making a big mistake.
"I was 23, I wanted a bigger wage. I was stupid."

Windass said he had not spoke to Gerrard after the abrupt departure until a few months after during the January transfer window and the Liverpool legend was fuming.
Windass says the club looked to bring him back on loan.
But a move never materialised as he claimed the Wigan manager at the time Paul Cook would not sanction a deal.
"We had a zoom call about six months later because I was going to go back on loan," he said.
"Gerrard basically gave me what for. He told me everything that was wrong with me and how I can improve and stuff as a person.
"He said if we are going to bring you back we need to have an honest conversation.
"I never went back anyway and that was it.
"It's ages ago now, so I'm not that bothered by it.
"But for two years after, I thought about it every day until I signed in for Sheffield Wednesday."
Gerrard is favourite to return to the Ibrox dugout and be the next Rangers manager but it is believed he faces competition from Russell Martin.

We told you how the Israeli striker is a top target for the Ibrox club Rangers have been told to up the ante in their pursuit of Dor Turgeman as Maccabi Tel Aviv reportedly told the Ibrox club £4million won't cut it. Record Sport revealed how the 21-year-old striker is wanted by the Light Blues as Russell Martin leads them into a new era. Turgeman is a top target but reports in Israel say the Israeli champions value him higher than the fee being discussed, however, Record Sport understands talks are ongoing. Israel Hayom report that Rangers 'will have to significantly increase the amount'. Ibrox scouts are said to have been watching Turgeman in action for 'several months', including for Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Europa League and for Israel against Estonia and Norway in March. Tottenham will need £60m transfer target to repeat Gareth Bale's Man Utd snub
Tottenham want to rival Manchester United for Bryan Mbeumo if they do land Thomas Frank and they'll need the Cameroon international to turn down a switch an Old Trafford switch Thomas Frank is keen on a Tottenham switch and wants the north Londoners to land Bryan Mbeumo ahead of Manchester United with Brentford demanding £60million for their forward. Mbeumo has just enjoyed his best season to date in front of goal and is set for a move as a result. The Bees have already turned down an offer from the Red Devils, who fell short of their valuation as they look to add more firepower. Now Frank, who has been able to aid Mbueumo's development from a Championship player to a 20-goal top flight star, wants the 25-year-old to follow him across London and has made that demand known to Tottenham. Even given the state of affairs at Old Trafford, players choosing Tottenham over Manchester has been rare. One man who did though was Gareth Bale when he chose to leave Southampton as a youngster. Both teams were keen on the Welshman, who would go on and become a global star. Bale later admitted a desire to play every week was a motive in him knocking back United, who were then the dominant force in England. He said on his Airwayz channel in 2023: "I rejected Manchester United and went to Tottenham. At that time, United were the biggest team in the league, they were winning trophies, they had the biggest players, the best manager. The easiest decision would be to go to Man United and the biggest club. You always want to be at the biggest clubs but I took the approach that I wanted to be playing first-team football." Mbeumo is likely to be a starter whether he joins Tottenham or United, but Frank may lean on the fact that the north Londoners can offer Champions League football following their Europa League triumph. Frank has admitted that Mbeumo was likely to move on given the interest in him and Brentford's record of selling for big profits. 'It is clear that if he is to be sold, it must be for a nice, nice amount,' he said. 'It is a lot. Mucho. Really a lot. How many wingers score 20 goals for a mid-table club? And then with seven assists plus his work ethic. And his character. All these things mean that he has a lot, so he is a good player.' Tottenham have yet to make any major signings this summer and there is talk of Son Heung-min leaving the club after a decade of service. United meanwhile have already spent £62.5m to land Matheus Cunha from Wolves but bringing in more firepower is a priority.
