The Kashmir Day Pakistan Rangers Cup girls & boys basketball tournament commenced here on Thursday in a colorful ceremony at the International Abdul Nasir Court, Aram Bagh.
The tournament was inaugurated by Lieutenant Colonel Amanullah Faiz, Wing Commander of Pak Rangers 31m wing, Abdullah Shah Ghazi Sector.
On the first day, five girls' matches were played. In the first two matches, Dow Club beat Aram Bagh Club 12-9 while Bahria Club White beat Soul Club 9-5.
In the remaining matches, Government Degree College Lines Area outplayed Usman Girls Club 8-6 while Government Girls College Lines Area overcame National Club 13-10.
In the last match of the day, Karachi Colts won against Nishtar Club by 7-5.
Players who put up exceptional show included Afghanan, Hoorain, Aniqah Khan, Sarah Ahmed, Tayyiba, Dua Batool, Anita, Ayesha, Fabia Tariq, Manahil Khan, Laiba, Raheema Khan, Alisha Saleem, and Afza Ali.
The event was also attended by Director of Sports Commissioner Karachi, Ghulam Muhammad Khan, DSO South Fareed Ali, business leader Asif Gulfaam, MCB VP Muhammad Haider Khan and SOA's Khalid Rahmani.
The tournament is being supported by Engineering Solutions and Aram Bagh Market Alliance Association. The technical officials and referees for these matches were Nusrat Afzal, Zaeema Khatoon, Zahid Malik, Muhammad Ashraf, Amir Sharif, and Muhammad Usman.

Karachi District South edged past Karachi Malir District by 68-59 points to win the boys basketball title while Bahria Club triumphed over Dow Club with a score of 18-14 points to clinch the girls basketball title in the Kashmir Day Rangers Cup Basketball Tournament that concluded at International Abdul Nasir Basketball Court, Aram Bagh on Sunday night. The chief guest at the final was Lieutenant Colonel Amanullah Faiz who distributed the prizes among the winners and runner-up teams. He was accompanied by Asad Shakir as well as other military and civil officers. In the boys final, Nabeel Ahmed (20 points), Haris Shahid (18 points) and Muaz Ashraf (18 points) excelled on the court for Karachi District South while for the losing side Karachi Malir District, Daniyal Khan Marwat (17 points), Abdullah Khan (15 points) and Hassan Ali (14 points) were the outstanding performers. In the girls final, notable performances came from Dua Batool, Fiza Khan, Raheema Khan, Umaima Baig, Fiza Khan and Hafsa Khan. KBA President Barrister Ghulam Abbas Jamal Chaudhry honoured Rangers officers and other distinguished guests with the Shahida Parveen Kayani Award for their dedicated service to sports on behalf of the Kashmiri people. Also present on the occasion were Ghulam Muhammad Khan, Ghulam Abbas Jamal Advocate, Sheikh Aqil Ahmed, Kaleem Awan, Sheikh Shakeel, Haider Khan, Khurshid Alam, Khalid Rahmani, Dr. Nighat Aqil, Nasir Hussain Khan**, and several others. The tournament was organized by 31 Wing Abdullah Shah Ghazi Rangers and Karachi Basketball Association with the support of Engineering Solution Company and Aram Bagh Alliance of Markets Association.

Four matches were decided in the Kashmir Day Rangers Cup Girls and Boys Basketball Tournament, being played at the International Mohammad Nasir courts at Aram Bagh on Sunday. In the boys' event, Karachi South White defeated Karachi Central by 54-46 points. For the winning team, Nabeel Ahmed scored 16 points, Ahsan Iqbal 15, and Zaid Ashraf 10, while for the runner-up team, Usman Khawaja scored 18 points, Zardat Khan 12, and Shoaib Ahmed 10. In the second match, Karachi East defeated Karachi West 35-28. For the winning team, Abdullah Zia scored 10 points, while Abdullah Rahman and Niyar Zaman scored 8 points each. From the runner-up team, Razeen scored 10 points, while Yusha and Hamam scored 6 points each. The girls' event has entered the semi-final stage. In the first quarter-final, Dow Club defeated Karachi Colts 6-2. In the second quarter-final, Bahria White secured victory over Government Degree Girls College Lines Area with a score of 8-5, earning both Dow Club and Bahria White a place in the semi-finals. Outstanding performances were put in by Fatima, Amina, Areesha, Afghanan, Dua Batool, Fiza Khan, Raheema, and Manahil Irfan. The matches were officiated by referees and technical officials Zahid Malik, Amir Sharif, Muhammad Ashraf, Zaeema Khatoon, Muhammad Naeem, and Zulfiqar Abbas Khan. The tournament, organized by the Karachi Basketball Association with the support of Engineering Solution Company and Alliance of Aram Bagh Market Association, is witnessing thrilling competitions in both the girls' and boys' categories. At the start of the day's matches, the players were introduced to MCB Vice President Muhammad Haider Khan.
