Jeremy Renner Details Experiencing Death During Snow Plow Accident "I Didn't Want to Come Back" — GeekTyrant

Geek Tyranta day ago

Marvel actor Jeremy Renner went through a death-defying accident and recovery two years ago that he is just now fully detailing in his recently-published memoir, 'My Next Breath.'
In the book, he says he briefly experienced what he believes was death during the 2023 New Year's Day snow plow accident that nearly cost him his life. In a recent follow-up interview on Kelly Ripa's 'Let's Talk Off Camera' podcast, the Oscar nominee described this moment as 'a great relief.'
'It's a wonderful, wonderful relief to be removed from your body,' Renner said. 'It is the most exhilarating peace you could ever feel. You don't see anything but what's in your mind's eye. Like, you're the atoms of who you are, the DNA, your spirit. It's the highest adrenaline rush, but the peace that comes with it… it's magnificent. It's so magical.'
'I didn't want to come back,' Renner continued. 'I remember I was brought back and I was so pissed off. I came back, I'm like, 'Aww!' I came back and saw [my] eyeball and I'm like, 'Oh shit, I'm back.' Saw my legs. I'm like, 'Yeah, that's gonna hurt later.' I'm like, 'All right, let me continue to breathe.''
Renner wrote in his book that he briefly died about 30 minutes after his Sno-Cat, a large snow plow that weighs at least 14,330 pounds, ran him over as he was saving his nephew from injury.
Renner ultimately regained consciousness and was hospitalized for blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries. His injuries included eight ribs broken in 14 places, a broken right knee and ankle, a broken left leg tibia and ankle, a broken right clavicle and shoulder and more.
'I could see my lifetime,' he writes in the book. 'I could see everything all at once. In death, there was no time, no time at all, yet it was also all time and forever.'
Speaking to Ripa, Renner added that feeling like 'a man that didn't want to come back' has made him now 'really be able to be back here and live it on my terms as the captain of my own ship. And get on it or off it, I don't give a fuck. I'm going to live life on my own terms and for nobody else. [It's] very clear. The white noise is ripped away.'
After spending nearly a year in recovery, Renner has since gone on to return to acting via his Paramount+ original drama series Mayor of Kingstown . He also filmed a role in Rian Johnson's next 'Knives Out' movie, aptly called Wake Up Dead Man , which is coming to theaters and Netflix this fall.

‘60 Minutes' has history of cozy interviews and self-promotion

Beware of those who publicly declare that their stuff doesn't stink. Recently, CBS newsman and '60 Minutes' regular Scott Pelley made news and noise when he seized the close of the venerable program to deliver an appeal, threat or whatever, depending on how one heard it, to CBS News parent Paramount, as it was reportedly preparing to settle a lawsuit brought last year by President Trump over the show's very cozy interview with VP Kamala Harris during last year's presidential campaign. Pelley cited the week's resignation of '60 Minutes' executive producer, Bill Owens, adding, 'Paramount began to supervise our content in new ways. None of our stories has been blocked, but Bill felt he lost the independence that honest journalism requires. … Bill made sure they were accurate and fair. Advertisement 'He was tough that way, but our parent company Paramount is trying to complete a merger. The Trump administration must approve it.'

Pair who worked magic on ‘Stranger Things' house flipped this GA gem for sale

A Victorian home for sale in Savannah, Georgia, is brimming with Southern charm after a restoration done by a pair of well-known house flippers. The 3,777-square-foot home — listed for $2.49 million — took two years to renovate, a feat that was done by Shane Fatland and Bryan Schreier, a pair who famously restored the Creel house in Rome, Georgia, a house featured in season 4 of the hit Netflix series 'Stranger Things.' 'The renovation, completed over two years, involved extensive work on the exterior, including rebuilding porches and windows, and interior details like door and window casings,' a news release on the home says. The duo managed to capture the original roots of the five-bedroom, five-bathroom house, which was built in 1920, while updating the residence with modern sleekness. 'The home is bathed w/natural light through floor-to-ceiling oversized windows & historic doors. Elegant hardwood floors throughout. Details & surprises include custom built-ins & a wet bar,' the listing on Compass says. 'The chef's kitchen is truly a culinary enthusiast's dream: premium countertops an expansive 12-foot island over looking a private & secluded, lushly landscaped outdoor oasis features soaring palm trees, an in-ground saltwater pool & fire pit area.' Other details include a one-bedroom, one-bathroom guest apartment that sits above a workshop. There's also a private pool and attic space that was converted to another room. Fatland and Schreier 'left their home in Rome, Georgia, where, although their house was impressive, it gained notoriety after being featured on a television show, which made it difficult for them to live there,' the release says. The listing is held by Liza DiMarco of Compass Georgia.
