Pair who worked magic on ‘Stranger Things' house flipped this GA gem for sale

Miami Herald3 days ago

A Victorian home for sale in Savannah, Georgia, is brimming with Southern charm after a restoration done by a pair of well-known house flippers.
The 3,777-square-foot home — listed for $2.49 million — took two years to renovate, a feat that was done by Shane Fatland and Bryan Schreier, a pair who famously restored the Creel house in Rome, Georgia, a house featured in season 4 of the hit Netflix series 'Stranger Things.'
'The renovation, completed over two years, involved extensive work on the exterior, including rebuilding porches and windows, and interior details like door and window casings,' a news release on the home says.
The duo managed to capture the original roots of the five-bedroom, five-bathroom house, which was built in 1920, while updating the residence with modern sleekness.
'The home is bathed w/natural light through floor-to-ceiling oversized windows & historic doors. Elegant hardwood floors throughout. Details & surprises include custom built-ins & a wet bar,' the listing on Compass says.
'The chef's kitchen is truly a culinary enthusiast's dream: premium countertops an expansive 12-foot island over looking a private & secluded, lushly landscaped outdoor oasis features soaring palm trees, an in-ground saltwater pool & fire pit area.'
Other details include a one-bedroom, one-bathroom guest apartment that sits above a workshop.
There's also a private pool and attic space that was converted to another room.
Fatland and Schreier 'left their home in Rome, Georgia, where, although their house was impressive, it gained notoriety after being featured on a television show, which made it difficult for them to live there,' the release says.
The listing is held by Liza DiMarco of Compass Georgia.

Look: Adult animated comedy 'Haunted Hotel' coming to Netflix Sept. 19

June 3 (UPI) -- Netflix announced Haunted Hotel, an adult animated comedy series from Rick and Morty writer Matt Roller, will debut Sept. 19 on the streaming service. The series will center on a single mother who runs Undervale, the titular haunted hotel, with help from her children and her estranged brother, who is one of the phantoms haunting the accommodation. He served as co-executive producer on series including Dan Harmon's Krapopolis, Tina Fey and Robert Carlock's Mr. Mayor and two seasons of The Goldbergs. Netflix: Jefferies remains bullish, sees a favorable catalyst path

-- Jefferies reiterated its Buy rating on Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) and raised its price target for the stock to $1,400 from $1,200 in a note Tuesday, citing confidence in the streaming giant's long-term growth trajectory and favorable near-term catalysts. The analysts see 'a favorable catalyst path with U.S. price hikes and a robust content slate driving potential upside in 2H25.' Following a record 41 million net subscriber additions in 2024 and an 84% stock gain over the past year, investors have debated how Netflix can sustain its momentum. Jefferies believes growth will continue, supported by upcoming hits such as Squid Game, Stranger Things, and Wednesday, as well as limited churn from recent price increases. 'Churn from recent price increases has been limited, suggesting long-term pricing power is intact,' the firm wrote. Jefferies expects advertising to be a major revenue engine in the coming years. 'The ad business is still in its infancy with the potential for revenue to 5x from $2B in FY25 to $10B+ longer term,' Jefferies said. The analysts forecast Netflix can sustain over 20% annual free cash flow growth, reaching $18 billion over five years, up from $6.9 billion currently. Risks include tough comparisons in 2026, especially in the U.S. and Canada, and potential pressure on margins from live sports investments. Still, Jefferies raised its FY26 and FY27 EBITDA forecasts by 4% and 5%, respectively, and noted that 'long-term valuation analysis supports upside.' Jefferies' new $1,400 target implies about 15% upside from current levels and reflects '~36x our FY26 EBITDA.' The firm concluded: 'We continue to see a favorable catalyst path for NFLX over the short, medium, and long-term.' Arnold Schwarzenegger 'couldn't believe' son Patrick's nudity on 'The White Lotus': 'All of a sudden, I see the weenie'

Like father, like son. Arnold Schwarzenegger was stunned to see his son, fellow actor Patrick Schwarzenegger, follow in his footsteps with a nude scene on The White Lotus. The father-son duo sat down for Variety's newest Actors on Actors to chat about the biz and nepotism when the topic predictably veered to Schwarzenegger's experience of seeing his son's "weenie" on television. "I couldn't believe [it]. I said to myself, 'I'm watching your show, and I'm watching your butt sticking out there.' And all of a sudden, I see the weenie," Schwarzenegger said. "What is going on here? This is crazy." That's when the former California governor realized they had something in common. "Then I said to myself, 'Well, Arnold, hello. You did the same thing in Conan and Terminator, so don't complain about it," he told his son. "It was a shock to me that you were following my footsteps so closely." The proud papa continued, "Your acting surprised the hell out of me. Not that I didn't know you're good. But it was just unbelievable, the kind of stuff that you did in the show." The young Schwarzenegger broke out in the recent season 3 of Mike White's acclaimed dramedy The White Lotus, playing a wealthy finance bro on vacation with his Southern family in Thailand who unravels following an incestuous encounter with his younger brother (Sam Nivola). He previously spoke about watching the show with his family, including mother Maria Shriver, and how they "had different reactions to seeing me completely nude." 'My dad thought it was hilarious. My mom didn't even really understand what was happening," the actor recounted during an appearance on Today earlier this year. "You know, everyone had a different kind of thought.' His fiancée, model Abby Champion, he added, 'melted into her chair' and "was kind of flustered by it."Arnold first commented on the shock of his son's nudity after he attended the season 3 premiere of the show back in February, writing on Instagram alongside photos with Patrick on the red carpet: "I could claim to be surprised to find out he has a nude scene, but what can I say — the apple doesn't fall far from the tree." Elsewhere in the Actors on Actors interview, Patrick spoke about navigating the industry as a nepo baby and how he considered going under an alias to distance himself professionally from his famous parents. "It took a while for me to get to a point where I was less worried about living in your shadow versus wanting to do it the way I thought I should do it," he told his dad. "I'm glad you kept the name, because now I can take credit," Arnold said in response. "You joined a very short list of people: You know, Jamie Lee Curtis — I think she's one of the greatest actors in history. If you show you have the substance, you can get rid of the whole idea of nepotism." Watch the segment in full above. Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly
