The accused asked how his friend came to know about the incident, to which the friend explained that he had met a common acquaintance on the road who told him about it.
'Tell him (the common friend) that I killed him. He knows me, tell him right now,' the accused said, according to a report by India Today.

'The accused was detained following the incident,' ANI on Wednesday quoted Joint Commissioner of Police Jaipal Singh Rathore as saying.
The age of the deceased student was not immediately clear, though police and a PTI report said he was a student of Class 10, thus about 15 years old. The alleged attacker was in Class 9.
Netizens on X raised serious concerns about the misconduct by the accused and demanded strict measures.
A parent had told ANI that she had repeatedly complained to the school authorities over misconduct, including boys using abusive language, making obscene gestures, molesting girls, carrying knives and phones, and even watching porn in the computer room.
"For the past two years, such incidents have been coming to light. I have complained twice. Boys speak indecent language on the school bus,' ANI quoted her as saying.
She said the school administration dismisses such cases by calling parents, taking written apologies, and letting students off without strict action.

Pakistan-based JeM launches Rs 3.91 billion fundraising drive after losses during Operation Sindoor
ANI Terrorist infrastructure was targeted during Operation Sindoor After suffering severe setbacks during Operation Sindoor, Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror outfit has launched a massive fundraising drive in that country under the garb of building over 300 mosques to replicate Lashkar-e-Taiba's decentralization policy, security officials said. The JeM has come out with a new mechanism with the support of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) to collect funds. It is using digital wallets like 'EasyPaisa' and 'Sadapay' controlled by its founder and most wanted terrorist Masood Azhar's family members to bypass scrutiny by global agencies like the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the officials said citing inputs from across the border. The Rs 3.91 billion fundraising drive would secure JeM's operational and weapons financing for at least a decade, they armed forces carried out missile strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in the early hours of May 7 in retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack. Pakistan retaliated and the intense border skirmishes continued till May 10 before the two countries reached an understanding to end the officials said the JeM's headquarters 'Markaz Subhanallah', along with four other training camps -- Markaz Bilal, Markaz Abbas, Mahmona Joya, and the Sargal training camp - were destroyed during the Operation Sindoor. While Pakistan's government has announced funding to rebuild these destroyed facilities, the JeM has launched an online fundraising campaign through digital wallets to collect Rs 3.91 billion for constructing 313 new markaz buildings under the garb of constructing mosques across Pakistan, the officials said. On social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp, JeM-linked proxy accounts and those used by JeM commanders have posted posters, videos, and a letter from Masood Azhar, urging supporters to donate wholeheartedly as each mosque requires Rs 12.5 million (Rs 1.25 crore) for construction and smooth running, they said. According to the officials, several of the digital wallet accounts were found linked to the mobile number of Azhar's brother Talha Al Saif (Talha Gulzar) and JeM Haripur district commander Aftab Ahmad based in Khala Batt Township. They said another fundraising channel was linked to a mobile number run by Azhar's son Abdullah Azhar (Abdullah Khan) while in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, JeM commander Syed Safdar Shah is collecting donations for the organization's markaz via a number registered near Melwarah post office, Oghi, Mansehra district. In addition to these three accounts, over 250 EasyPaisa wallets are reportedly being used to raise funds for the JeM's fundraising campaign. Alongside social media appeals, the terror outfit circulated an audio recording of Azhar's brother, Al Saif, via its official propaganda channel, MSTD Official, urging supporters to contribute Rs 21,000 per person, the officials said. The speech was delivered at a gathering at Markaz Usman-o-Ali during a Friday congregation on August 15. In the audio clip, Al Saif also instructed the establishment of 20 new markaz this year, as part of JeM's overall target of 313 centres, the officials said citing JeM's organizational posters and videos. To build these mosques, the officials said the JeM may have two key motives -- first, to replicate LeT's vast markaz network, decentralising its training camps so that future Indian strikes would have minimal impact on its terror infrastructure in Pakistan. Second, to establish secure, lavish safe houses for Azhar and his family to allow Pakistan to maintain plausible deniability about their whereabouts, the officials said. Under this plan, three-four large markaz centres would function as safe houses, medium-sized facilities would serve as training camps, and the remainder would handle logistics, allowing JeM to operate nationwide while Pakistan's government continues to deny Azhar's presence, they said. While JeM claims each markaz will cost Rs 12.5 million, estimates suggest a Markaz Bilal-sized facility costs only Rs 4-5 million. Larger markaz like Subhanallah or Usman-o-Ali may cost around Rs 100 million, but it is unlikely all 313 will be this large. If built, with three large markaz and 310 smaller ones, the total construction cost would be about Rs 1.23 billion (Rs 123 crore) leaving a large surplus for weapons purchases, the officials said. Given JeM-Hamas-TTP (Tehreek-e-Taliban) connections and leadership meetings, the officials said the surplus could be used to acquire advanced weaponry and maybe attack drones or quadcopters used by TTP. It is widely known that Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI helps JeM procure arms cheaply from the black market, the officials said. "Today, JeM's arsenal already includes machine guns, rocket launchers, and mortars. Thus this Rs 3.91 billion campaign could heavily bolster its arms stockpile," an official said. In 2019, Pakistan was placed in grey list by the international watchdog working on blocking terror financing and accordingly, the Pakistani Government implemented the National Action Plan and presented to FATF that it had curbed JeM by taking its markaz under government control and placing JeM chief and his brother's bank accounts under official watch, the officials said. It also banned cash transactions, animal hide donations, and other forms of fundraising which resulted in Pakistan getting formally removed from FATF's grey list in 2022. Now, instead of donations going into bank accounts, the money is being transferred to the digital wallets used by Azhar's family members and this way, Pakistan could falsely claim to FATF by showing only bank account details that JeM's funding had been cut off, the officials said.

Protest Over Ahmedabad School Murder Continues For Second Day, Over 500 Booked For Vandalism

Protests over the murder of a Class 10 student by a junior at a private school in Ahmedabad continued for the second day on Friday, with the Congress's student wing alleging the authorities ' negligence and demanding that the institute be shut down. The students of Seventh Day Adventist School and their parents also held a protest, holding placards, and alleging regular instances of thefts, arguments and brawls on the premises. They alleged inaction despite complaints. This comes after a mob ransacked the premises and thrashed its staff over the death of a student, identified as Nayan Santani, who was stabbed by a Class 8 junior during a minor scuffle on Tuesday. The National Students' Union of India (NSUI) on Friday held large-scale protests demanding the school's closure. Several members were detained after attempting to force their way into the campus, leading to clashes with police deployed at the site, NDTV reported. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad also staged protests. Around 200 schools in Maninagar, Khokhara and Isanpur areas remained shut as part of a bandh call given by the outfit. Students and parents called for strict action against the accused. 'What are you teaching the students after taking lakhs of rupees? The school never takes any responsibility. Had the school management taken the right steps, the murder would not have happened," one of the parents said, seeking anonymity. There was no immediate reaction from the school. The student was attacked with a knife outside the school building after classes had ended, with CCTV footage capturing the assault. The accused was spotted by a security guard while attempting to escape from behind the premises. The victim's family alleged the school did not call the ambulance on time and that a water tanker was summoned to wash away the blood stains in an alleged bid to destroy evidence. An FIR has been registered, and the accused student has been taken into custody for questioning. The school administration has filed a police complaint in connection with the vandalism at its premises. Over 500 people have been booked on charges of rioting, assault and causing damage in the case, sources said. Meanwhile, the accused admitted to the crime in Instagram chats with a friend, which have since gone viral. The investigators have said that the 41-year-old attacker revealed that he wanted to tell the Chief Minister that it is a matter of question of the lives of three lakh dogs in Delhi. Officers said that the claim is being verified as part of an ongoing probe. Officials probing the case said that Sakriya, a native of Gujarat's Rajkot, has been sent to five-day police custody. The Delhi Police, along with the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Special Cell are investigating the case from all possible angles, sources said. The officials said that Sakriya's phone is being examined by forensic experts and police are scrutinising his social media accounts for any leads. They further said they will also take the attacker to every location he visited in the national capital. The Delhi Police are also in touch with the Rajkot Police. He then shouted, slapped her, pulled her hair, and abused her. The accused grabbed the Chief Minister by her hair and did not let go for quite some time. He was quickly overpowered by the security team and arrested. The police also registered an attempt to murder case against the accused for attacking the Delhi Chief Minister. Meanwhile, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has taken over Gupta's security, with Z-category security now in place. Criminal History Of Sakriya Meanwhile, Sakriya has earlier as well faced cases and had been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) that relate to causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means and intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace. As per Sakriya's dossier accessed by CNN-News18, all five cases were lodged at Bhaktinagar Police Station in Rajkot from 2019-2024. He has been acquitted and released in four cases, while one case is pending before the Second Additional Civil Judge and JMFC Court. What's The Dog Row? The incident came days after the Delhi Government welcomed the Supreme Court's order to control the menace of dog bites and rabies in Delhi-NCR by catching, sterilising and relocating stray dogs permanently to shelters. Gupta had noted that the order holds great significance as the problem has now reached a critical stage in the national capital. She had assured that her government will address it through a comprehensive, well-structured plan to ensure the people of Delhi get the relief they deserve. Earlier this month, the Supreme Court issued strong directions to control the menace of dog bites and rabies in Delhi to immediately catch and sterilise stray dogs and relocate them permanently to shelters.
