A VENOMOUS spider with an 'excruciating bite' has arrived in the UK as a tourist's hand swelled up 'like a blimp' after coming into contact with the creepy-crawly.
Hugh Marsh from Perth, Australia, was in Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire, for his cousin's wedding when he found the stowaway in his shoes.

Initially thinking there was a wedge of tissue in the toe, he reached in and pulled it out, only to discover seconds later that it was webbing.
With his hand reddened and itchy, Mr Marsh quickly washed it - but it was too late, and the next day it was blown up like a "blimp".
"I discovered it in my left shoe just before a wedding," the 30-year-old said.
"I looked in thinking there was a wedge of tissue in the toe, and pulled it out, like you would, with my fingers.

"That's when I noticed my hand starting to feel itchy and saw the hairs."
Hugh said he "immediately" knew something was wrong.
He added: "I washed my hands thoroughly, but the damage was done.
"And I had a wedding to go to, so hoped it was just a small effect.
"I didn't expect the blimp of a hand the next day."

He added: "My whole hand was swollen like a balloon."
Images captured by Mr Marsh show his hand puffed up in reaction to the spider's hairs.
"It was as if I'd stuck my hand into a pile of cactuses," he said.
"Extremely fine short hairs covered my middle and index finger, from the tips to the middle knuckle."
The Aussie event photographer reckons he hadn't worn the shoes for two or three years before the big day, and that they'd been in his closet the whole time.
And though he didn't photograph the spider and is unsure of the species, he thinks it could have been a 'Badumna insignis' after looking at pictures.
An Australian native species, it's better known as the black house spider, and is more dangerous than its name suggests, packing an excruciatingly painful bite.
Some victims have reported nausea, vomiting, sweating, dizziness, and even skin necrosis from their venom.
Hugh is just relieved the spider was already dead.
He said: "It was a black spider with thin legs and large mandibles, about the size of an Australian 50 cent coin.
"It had been deceased for a while by the looks of it.
"It was like it had gone into the shoe, wrapped itself in a cocoon of webbing and died."
He continued: "I think it's pretty funny overall.
"Thankfully it was just the spider hairs that stuck into my fingers and not an actual bite - I'd be a little worried how that could've gone."
Hugh was able to enjoy the wedding with paracetamol before seeking medical attention.
He was advised to use a strong antihistamine, but said it took a week for the swelling to go down.
The news comes just days after it was revealed that a giant wasp spider has been discovered in the UK.
The rare spider with a wasp-like body has been found in a garden in Norfolk - and they're slowly spreading across the nation.

Lions players stun fans with sing-song at Sydney bar
The British and Irish Lions celebrated their series victory over Australia in grand style, taking over a Sydney hotel bar and bursting into song as amazed fans looked on. Andy Farrell's squad became the first Lions tourists since 2013 to win their Test series, with triumphs over the Wallabies in Brisbane and Melbourne securing them the trophy after also winning all of their other matches on Australian soil. However, that streak came to an end as they were denied a historic 3-0 whitewash, with Australia deservedly clinching an eventful final Test in Sydney. The disappointment of losing the third Test didn't seem to linger, however, as the following day saw Farrell's lads celebrate as they dropped in at the popular Coogee Bay Hotel for a bit of lunch. According to fans who were also in the hotel bar on Sunday, the team stayed there in the afternoon and provided some entertainment as they broke out into a sing-song. With Wales star Jac Morgan at the centre of the action alongside captain Maro Itoje, the tourists belted out classics like Oasis' Wonderwall and Adele's Someone Like You at full volume, with videos of their performances soon making the rounds on social media, reports Wales Online. The squad celebrated by belting out the traditional Scottish folk song The Bonnie Banks o' Loch Lomond, a tune they had previously sung on the pitch at the Melbourne Cricket Ground after securing the series in the second Test. Joe Hare, a fan of Wales and the Lions, was in the pub at the same time as the players. His videos of their singing have already been shared on TikTok by big names such as England's Marcus Smith. Joe's footage of the team's performance of The Bonnie Banks o' Loch Lomond - featuring forwards like Morgan, Jamie George, Itoje and Will Stuart - came with the cheeky caption: "Pack weight, 900kg. Vocal range, questionable." Meanwhile, he added that "the only strong than [the Lions'] scrum is their pub version of Wonderwall post-win," with his clips already viewed tens of thousands of times on TikTok. "They came in for lunch and stayed in the afternoon," Joe, who is from Cardiff but lives in New Zealand, told WalesOnline. "They were really great to the fans and a real energy. It was a pretty awesome experience and it's been a great trip." After losing in the final Test, Farrell admitted that it "might take one or two beers" for his players to understand what they had achieved on tour, as he described the experience as "the time of our lives". "There's frustration because we wanted to win every game, but the best team won here," the head coach said. "It might take one or two beers, but they should be unbelievably proud of what they've achieved on this tour. "It's been the time of our lives. I know it sounds a bit dramatic, but it's the truth. We got to create a special memory together. I'm unbelievably proud to be associated with this group. "This has been a long time in the planning - the best eight weeks of our lives," he added. "Lions tours are tough, and to do what we did last week and put the series in the bag, upon reflection after tonight, I'm sure we'll be super proud of the achievement."

I ditched the UK for Australia & I'd never return – I work less hours for more money & see dolphins on my morning walk
Lewy revealed that he wouldn't even move back to the UK for £50,000 AUSSIE DREAM I ditched the UK for Australia & I'd never return – I work less hours for more money & see dolphins on my morning walk A MAN has revealed that he will likely never return to the UK, after upping sticks and moving to Australia. In February, Lewy and his partner made the bold decision to relocate to Adelaide, after becoming sick of the "miserable weather and negative people". 2 Lewy ditched the UK for sunny Australia Credit: 2 He now lives a three minute walk from the beach Credit: The couple describe themselves as "normal people" without much money, said they were able to move to a "stunning" neighbourhood, that "wasn't expensive". Lewy said that it had been their dream for 10 years to live in Aus, and added that his and his partner's life has greatly improved since ditching the British Isles. "It's highly likely that we will never live in the UK again because it cannot offer us the life we've got now", he said in a video posted to his TiKTok channel @lewyp23. Lewy revealed that he is no longer "overworked" and "stressed" and is paid more for his job in Australia than he was in the UK. He added that the cost of living in Adelaide is much cheaper than it was for him back home, and that the people seem so much happier and fulfilled. The TikToker claims that he would have to earn a whopping £150,000 a year to have the same quality of life in the UK as he does in Adelaide on his "average" wage, and added that he wouldn't even move back to the UK if someone gave him £50,000. Lewy now lives just three minutes walks from the beach, and as soon as they finish work, he and his partner take their dog out for sunny seaside walks. He has even spotted pods of dolphins during his beach walks, which he said always leave him in "disbelief". Even in winter, the weather in Adelaide is warm and sunny, meaning that Lewy and his partner can have year round fun, without spending a penny. "You don't realise how much the weather affects you until you move to a nice place", he said. I fled the UK for sunny Dubai - life back home is miserable & no-one has any cash "We're happier, it's just fantastic." Another thing that Lewy loves about his life in Adelaide is the lack of crime. "It's safer her in Australia, you see a lot less nastiness." He added that he and his partner now do lots more on the weekends, and are able to be so much more social, as they are no longer stressed. How easy is it to move abroad? Brexit means British citizens now have to apply for visas to move to countries within the EU. While some countries residency restrictions are easier than others, here's what you need to do at home before moving: Notify HMRC about your upcoming move. Let your local authority know and provide a forwarding address. Contact your mortgage and utility providers and bank before leaving. If you have paid enough UK national insurance contributions, you can qualify for a state pension abroad - contact the International Pension Centre. You can sign up to the Royal Mail's redirection service. If you have outstanding student loans, contact the Student Loans Centre. If you have children, give due notice to childcares and schools. He described the supermarkets, which are packed full of fresh fruit and veg as being "incredible" and said that older people look much more youthful and full of life. Lewy is urging others to follow in his footsteps and ditch the "miserable" UK. He said that anyone under 35 can easily get a working holiday visa, and added that the country is especially looking for tradesmen. He said: "Why are you waiting to get out of that horrible place when you've got this waiting for you? "The people are really lovely and you've got a life waiting for you with way less stress." "You get one go at life, you have to take risks"
