Richard Madeley presents Good Morning Britain in wrist cast
The 69-year-old was asked how he got the injury by co-host Susanna Reid, who remarked 'that looks sore', at the start of Monday's edition of the ITV morning show.
Richard explained to Susanna and viewers that he had in fact injured himself while in France.
He said: 'It's a double fracture of the wrist. I was walking quite quickly down a steep pavement in France, actually, on Friday, and the pavement was loose, and it flipped up and it flipped me forward, and I thought, am I going to win or is gravity going to win? And gravity won.
'I hit the ground hard, so yeah, I've got a double fracture and we'll see how it goes.'
Reid then asked whether it was still sore to which her co-host replied: 'I'm not discussing the pain threshold.'
In Monday's show, Madeley's cast could be seen as the two went on to discuss Greta Thunberg's aid boat which had been travelling to Gaza and has been boarded by Israeli forces, as well as the NHS's recent calls for a million new blood donors to come forward, and protests in Los Angeles.
As he interviewed comedian turned artist Jim Moir, best known by his stage name Vic Reeves, who showed him how he can make his bed in eight seconds, Madeley praised him with 'one hand clapping'.

Madeley has co-presented the show since 2017, after previously launching ITV's This Morning in 1988 with wife Judy Finnigan, with whom he went on to present chat show Richard And Judy from 2001 to 2009.
The presenter also worked on The Wright Stuff as a guest host between 2012 and 2017.
Madeley's co-host Reid joined Good Morning Britain in 2014, having previously worked on BBC Breakfast and Sunday Morning Live.

Speaking on Hits Radio today, Sam revealed his battered body is still suffering. He said: "I am so tired but elated. I'm so glad we got it done... "Never again [am I getting on a bike] I think I'm prone to saddle issues! After day one I still to this point can't feel bits of my privates. I'm being deadly serious! "The bike is a wild thing, Tracey who was with me going up these hills when we were skirting round the edge of Wales, that was mad and you're just going so slowly and you feel like your bike is going to topple over! I did think to myself this is the first time I've ridden a bike in so long..." Detailing how adapting for one leg issue has aggravated others, Sam continued: "Because I was running in a different way my shin was really inflamed so I couldn't even run on my tiptoes so I was running side to side. "I describe it as plugging holes, so like the calf tears so that's one hole you've got to plug so then I run on my tiptoes with my leg straight. "OK well that then messes up my ankle ligaments because everything is running through your ankle; then your ankle ligament explodes so then you can't do that... you're trying to play chess against yourself, whilst trying not to panic because I can't move my leg and it's still pretty bad." Though it's up in the air if he'll be fit in time to step onto the pitch at the weekend, Sam is still going to be a presence at training sessions in the build up under the care of Gary the physio. He said: "I'm just going to go lie on his bed every single day and get a rub down...!" Benidorm star Crissy Rock has set the record straight on reports that she is 'living like a nomad' and couch-surfing with friends. The Liverpudlian, 66, is best known as Janey Yorke from the ITV sitcom, but is now touring the country talking about her transition from acting to stand-up in the show An Evening with Crissy Rock: From Bedlam to Benidorm. Crissy made headlines over the weekend that she is 'living from couch to couch' and that her wardrobe is the boot of her car – which she has told the Metro she said in jest during an interview. Crissy has now clarified that she does have a permanent home in Norfolk, which she shares with her husband Julian Buck, who she married the same year Benidorm ended in 2018. Crissy went on to explain that the nomadic lifestyle she referred to in an interview with The Express was only temporary while she's on tour, driving herself from city to city to perform her one-woman show, which she said is 'part and parcel' of being a jobbing comedian. The performer explained that while at first she found the reaction funny, she then realised that it 'could have an impact on her tour' if people make the wrong assumption about her living situation. 'I did say that my boot of my car is like a wardrobe, because when you're on tour, you have to take suitcases with you. I am like a nomad because I'm on tour. I'm up and down the country, all over the place. 'That's what you do when you're on tour, you live in the suitcase. We don't live in a cardboard box.' She continued: 'You have to go where the work is, so it's not like you just sit there and go, 'Oh, I can't be bothered going there'.' Crissy has her next show on Thursday, in which she talks about her life since Benidorm ended. The sitcom ran for 10 seasons and 74 episodes before its finale in 2018. Benidorm focused on the Solana Resort, following various holidaymakers as they decamped to the Spanish city, and has since found a second life on Netflix. Benidorm boss Derren Litten confirmed earlier this year that he is in talks with ITV over a possible show reboot, which Crissy said would be 'fabulous' if it went ahead. 'That would be wonderful for the people who watch it as well,' she said. 'It'd be wonderful if they asked me to come back into it. Maybe me and Sherrie (Hewson, who played Joyce Temple-Savage on the sitcom) could lock horns and become rival manageresses of different parts of the venue.' Original star Kyle, 23, was struck from the dating show line-up after it was revealed that he had been held and questioned by police over a machete attack at a wake. Speaking to press, Conor revealed the most unusual place he's had sex. The 25-year-old shared: "Probably behind a nightclub, I think, is the craziest, to be honest. "I know it's nothing too crazy. I was young as well." Meanwhile, Conor also discussed how his mother feels about him joining Love Island. He said: "It's a weird one for parents. My mam will be quite reserved and lowkey. So, it's a bit out of her comfort zone. "But again, she knew that I'm an adult, so I'm going to make my own decision, and she's going to support me. "And she has supported me. But yeah, it's a bit of a weird one, isn't it, if your child decides to do something like this." Revealing his preparations for the villa, Conor shared: "I had budgie smugglers in my hand. In terms of getting ready for the show, I actually haven't changed any diet, or any gym routine. "I train quite heavily anyway, so that side of it was taken care of." He also reflected on past relationships, remarking: "I've only had one. It just didn't work out, because it was my first one. I was 23 as well, so single my whole life. "I probably just didn't want to get in a relationship, because I didn't want to have that commitment. I'm an only child. "I've never really had to answer to many people and stuff. So then when I had to tell this person everything I was doing, it was just a bit heavy on me. "And we lived four hours away from each other. The distance was too much. It comes as he previously admitted to breaking a show rule after having signed up. Islanders are forbidden from revealing their involvement in the series before entering the villa. However, Conor revealed he'd sought the advice of past winner Greg O'Shea, a fellow Irish rugby player. He told press: "I know Greg through rugby circles so I spoke to him about going on Love Island. "He just said 'be yourself, it's a really really really cool experience that not many people get. "So enjoy it and yeah take it day by day and if you can be yourself you can't really go too far wrong'. "So that's my plan. He was like 'my advice might be a bit different from others because I won'." Love Island returns tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
