Chris McCausland doesn't want to be called ‘cute' anymore
Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris McCausland appreciates all the love he gets – but he no longer wants to be referred to as 'cute'.
The Liverpudlian comedian, actor and presenter became the first blind person to lift the Glitterball trophy in 2024, along with his partner and professional dancer Dianne Buswell.
Last month, the hugely popular duo, revealed that they would be releasing a new podcast named after their motto on the show.
Buswell previously revealed she had been told that she wouldn't make it far in the competition once she had been assigned McCausland. The pair had named their team 'Winning is not everything' as McCausland admitted that he felt other couples were better, and named their podcast after the phrase.
Having finished the Strictly tour, which McCausland could not attend because of prior commitments, Buswell joked about how 'cute' his fellow cast found him.
'I genuinely did miss you, I think everyone missed you there,' she said on the first episode of the Winning is not Everything podcast.
'We were in the makeup room on the last day actually, and we're getting our makeup done and Lauren [Oakley] turns to me and she goes, 'Awwwww, that's so cute!'
'And she had a picture of you on her phone and we all gathered round and it was you in a little dance pose with a suit on and a massive big circus tie. You were doing cute little poses for The Sunday Times.'
McCausland joked: 'This is the problem though. I don't want to be cute.'
'You were so cute!' Buswell insisted.
'I don't want to be cute,' McCausland hit back.
Dianne joked: 'Everyone on Strictly used to say, 'Oh Chris, you're so cute', and you'd go 'What about hot? Am I hot?'
'I said, 'He's always hot, he's always having to take a couple of layers off'.'
McCausland added: 'I want to be like Pete Wicks.'
Dianne joked: 'You want to be Pete Wicks hot, not just red and clammy hot
In a dedication to Buswell in his victory speech, McCausland said: 'We've lasted and lasted and Dianne has got so much out of me. She deserves this so much. Every day she's just positivity and belief and she's just one of the easiest people to be funny with than I've ever met.'
He then joked: 'Unless she changes her number, she's stuck with me.'
McCausland dedicated his victory to anybody who 'got told or thought that they couldn't do something'.
'It shows that with opportunity, support and determination, that anything can happen,' he said.

Freddy Brazier entering rehab to have a 'healthy relationship' with dad Jeff
Freddy Brazier has shared that he's going into rehab due to becoming 'addicted' to smoking. The 20-year-old is the youngest of Jeff Brazier's two sons. He also has 22-year-old Strictly Come Dancing star Bobby Brazier, whom he shares with the late Jade Goody. Freddy, who was just four years old when his mum died from cancer aged 27, was recently photographed allegedly 'smoking a joint' with his grandmother, Jackiey Budden, after his father 'launched legal action' to keep the pair apart. Now, in an attempt to rebuild his relationship with Jeff, Freddy will be seeking treatment in Spain. Taking to his Instagram Story with a lengthy message, he admitted to starting to smoke at the age of 12. 'I've decided that I will be cutting down And I want to go to Rehab In Marbs as I feel if I'm in England I won't take getting clean seriously,' he began. 'I've been smoking from the age of 12 and it's time to stop it was a bad coping mechanism that turnt into an addiction something I relied on and something that made me feel sane and some what ok. 'I've found a boxing club a rehabilitation centre and a boxing club I've found someone I want to get to know and I'm happy I got a good bunch of friends and I get out and enjoy myself. 'I want to be clean so I can life happily and have healthy relationships with people and be there for all of my family rather then feeling like I'm in the middle and have to choose a side.' He continued: 'I haven't been able to feel love properly as I have never loved myself and it starts now I want to play football and take up boxing I want to be happy and be in a healthy relationship and have a healthy relationship with my Nana and my father'. The youngster concluded: 'Desire everything that is going in new story about me my Nana and father every day ffs it's getting boring now [sic]'. 'Mind your business and have a good rest of the week x', he signed off. Freddy's post comes just days after it emerged that he was living with his nan in her Bermondsey home. More Trending A source told the Daily Mail that Freddy and Jackiey have 'always had a strong bond,' hence 'Jeff was never going to keep Freddy away from his nanny for very long'. 'Jeff may hate her for all sorts of reasons going back many years, but Freddy loves her very much,' added the insider. Carl Froch names two fighters he would come out of retirement to face
The former super-middleweight champion retired from boxing back in 2014, but has teased a potential return to the ring over the last few years Carl Froch has revealed he would consider coming out of retirement to face either Jake Paul or Darren Till. Froch, 47, retired from the sport of boxing after knocking out British rival George Groves for a second time back in 2014. While the former super-middleweight champion is happily retired, he has flirted with the idea of making a return to the ring over the last few years. Back in November, following Paul's victory over Mike Tyson, the American hit back at Froch after the Brit claimed he could beat the 'Problem Child' with one arm tied behind his back. Seven months on, and Froch has once again had his say on the young American. Speaking on his official YouTube channel. the 47-year-old was asked if he would come out of retirement if 'the money was right.' "I have retired 11 years ago. I did retire because I could not be a***d anymore. The desire was gone. I still think I can get in there with most of these jokers that think they can fight like Jake Paul... especially. Jake Paul is f*****g useless. You know what I think about him! I am not interested in boxing. I do not need to fight. I do not need the fame. I am already famous enough." The British star ripped into the 'Problem Child' as he believes it would be an 'easy fight.' "I think if the money is there for someone like Jake Paul, I would think 'it is such an easy fight'. I would not really need to train for it... turn up and do my thing," he continued. "You never know, Jake Paul might actually give me a decent fight... I doubt it." On the topic of Till, the boxing icon once again did not hold back in his assessment. The Liverpudlian parted ways with the UFC back in 2023 after losing three fights in a row. He has since gone on to become a big hit under the Misfits Boxing banner - defeating Anthony Taylor and Darren Stewart in his first two fights. Despite Till's dazzling run of form, Froch is not convinced. "Darren Till, he is an ex-MMA fighter, I addressed him on one of my previous channels. I was probably a little bit harsh on him as I showed a clip of him being knocked out. It was the only time he has ever been knocked out... he was weight drained apparently," he said. "But he got ironed out by an MMA fighter and boxers are strikers. We can throw good, solid, accurate punches. I have seen him box and he is not British level. And I was world level... four time world level... Hall of Famer. I have been retired 11 years now but I still think I would get in there and smash his head in." He added: "Would I come back for the fight? If the money is right, I would have a very close look at it and I would spend a little more time in the gym. I train everyday, keep myself fit, but I would up the cardio a little bit and start doing a bit of sparring and see how I feel but there is no immediate intention or drive to fight again because my fighting career is done! I have completed the game."
