Sophie Turner sends a message to 'mom shamers' in sexy snake print dress in New York
Sophie Turner sent a defiant message as she stepped out in New York City on Thursday. The Game Of Thrones star proved she wasn't going to let a single mom shamer get under her skin as she emerged in the Big Apple, an air of confidence radiating from her. And she made sure all eyes were on her with a sizzling, head-turning outfit. A magnet for attention, Turner, 29, wowed in a curve-clinging snake print dress with spaghetti straps and burgundy peep toe heels. The bold details also included a pair of edgy black sunglasses and a bright red mani and pedi, injecting a glamorous touch to the overall look. It comes over a week after Turner hit back at a troll who claimed she had 'forgotten' she was a mother of two. On August 4, the Game of Thrones alum shared a carousel of photos from the concert, and while most fans cheered her on for enjoying a night out, one user decided to mum-shame her. 'Lmfao, I think she has forgotten that she has two kids,' the troll wrote beneath the star's latest post. Turner, who shares daughters Willa, five, and Delphine, three, with ex-husband Joe Jonas, clapped back almost instantly. 'Ah I'm so sorry sometimes I forget some people can't think for themselves,' she replied. 'So…Get this…There's this crazy thing called shared custody. Maybe, just maybe, they were with their dad that day.' She was met with praise for speaking out as many of her fans chimed in to ask: 'Why can't a mom of two kids do this??' 'No one ever asks a Dad where their kids are [eye roll emoji],' a second remarked. 'Moms can have fun for the love of God,' a third insisted. Dozens more pointed out that her ex-husband is currently on the JONAS20: Living The Dream tour and will be doing 52 concerts. Her sharp reply comes less than a year after she and the Jonas Brothers musician resolved their high-profile custody dispute in October 2023, agreeing to co-parent their daughters. After Jonas filed for divorce, he and Turner were locked in a contentious legal battle that ultimately concluded with their divorce being finalized in September 2024. Despite not seeing eye-to-eye in the past, Jonas recently called Sophie an 'incredible mom.' 'I have a beautiful co-parenting relationship that I'm really grateful for,' Jonas told motivational speaker Jay Shetty in a TikTok video. 'Having an incredible mom, Sophie, for those girls is like a dream come true.' Jonas added that it's important for his daughters to have strong female role models in their lives. 'I think what values I want for them are to be open-minded and have a big heart, be able to walk into any room and feel confidence and know that they can do literally anything they want.' 'As young girls, looking up to great women is what I want for them,' he said. And while discussing if the girls will follow in their famous parents' footsteps into show-business, Joe said: 'We might want them to wait a little while.' During an interview with Vogue last year, Sophie opened up about the effect of having a public divorce. 'I mean, those were the worst few days of my life,' the Joan actress stated. 'I remember I was on set, I was contracted to be on set for another two weeks, so I couldn't leave. 'My kids were in the States, and I couldn't get to them because I had to finish [ITV drama] Joan. And all these articles started coming out...' After the news hit the web, rumors erupted that they had split because Sophie was partying too much - especially after snaps of her enjoying a wild night out with her costars just days before Joe filed began to circulate. 'It hurt because I really do completely torture myself over every move I make as a mother – mom guilt is so real,' continued Sophie. 'I just kept having to say to myself, 'None of this is true. You are a good mom and you've never been a partier.' 'It's unfathomable the amount of people that will just make s**t up and put it up based on a picture. 'A picture might tell a thousand words, but it's not my story. It felt like I was watching a movie of my life that I hadn't written, hadn't produced, or starred in. It was shocking. I'm still in shock.' During her interview with Vogue, Sophie also admitted that she previously suffered from depression, anxiety, and bulimia. 'I'm not very good at processing my emotions. I lock them away and then they'll bubble up in years to come in some form of depression or anxiety,' she shared. 'Being a young girl, especially one growing up in the spotlight, you really judge yourself.' She revealed that while she had taken medication for her mental health issues in the past, she currently isn't using any. 'Not since I moved back to the U.K.,' she dished. 'Which is great and also surprising, because I anticipated that I'd need to – now perhaps more than ever. 'There's something about a community and a support system that I've never realized is so important up until now. 'And I think the reason I was on medication for so long is because I didn't have those people with me. 'Now that I'm back home, I'm actually the happiest I've been in a really long time. I'm starting over again, rediscovering what I like to do, who I like to be with.' Joe and Sophie started dating in 2016, and he proposed one year later; they then eloped in Las Vegas in 2019, which was followed by a lavish wedding celebration in France that summer. Sophie recalled struggling with being branded as a Jonas Brothers' wife following their marriage. 'There was a lot of attention on the three brothers, and the wives. We were always called the wives, and I hated that,' she admitted. 'It was kind of this plus-one feeling. And that's nothing to do with him – in no way did he make me feel that – it was just that the perception of us was as the groupies in the band.' Things only got worse after they moved from Los Angeles to Miami in 2021, as Sophie said it felt like she was a 'bird trapped in a gilded cage' - especially since she was completely separated from her friends. 'We were in this community full of 50-year-old men, so imagine trying to make friends on the dog walk,' she dished. In the end, Sophie credited her close pals - including pop sensation Taylor Swift - with helping her to get through the rough time after her highly publicized split from Joe. 'The support I had from the women in my life during that time was the most amazing thing to see. I felt so held and so protected,' she gushed. 'Taylor was an absolute hero to me this year. I've never been more grateful to anyone than I am for her because she took my children and me, and provided us with a home and a safe space. She really has a heart of gold.'

A rare ‘blood moon' will be visible from Dubai — here's how to see it
Touted as *the* biggest cosmic event of the year, the total lunar eclipse is absolutely unmissable. This occurs when the earth gets between the sun and the moon, temporarily blocking the sunlight from the moon. As a result, we'll see what is called a 'blood moon'. A 'blood moon' is essentially the description given to the appearance of the moon during a total lunar eclipse as it takes on a reddish hue. You'll see a full moon, which then takes on a reddish hue as Earth's shadow begins to swallow it. It's set to be visible from the UAE and the rest of Dubai between Thursday September 7 and Friday September 8, wherever the skies are clear. While the total lunar eclipse will be visible with the naked eye, it'll be much more spectacular and impressive with a telescope or a pair of binoculars. The eclipse progresses through several phases: penumbral, partial, total, back to partial, and finally penumbral again. The entire lunar eclipse lasts for a few hours, with the total eclipse phase lasting anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. Dubai Astronomy Group will host at least one big event to help stargazers make the most of the total lunar eclipse and details will be announced at a later date. Al Sadeem Astronomy Centre (Credit: Supplied) Located in Abu Dhabi's Al Wathbah, this centre, which opened in 2016, offers a guided tours and night sky observation via traditional and smart telescopes (which are the size of a backpack). Events are usually on during key dates space calendar and you can book spots online. Dhs300(adults), Dhs100 (kids aged 8-17 years). Entry only by booking. Al Wathbah, Abu Dhabi, (02 642 6007). Al Quaa Milky Way Spot A quiet and open spot (away from night pollution) is always a good bet for stargazing. Around 90 minutes from Abu Dhabi towards Al Ain, is the Al Quaa Milky Way Spot. You'll need a 4×4 to get there and be apt at desert driving. It has its own location tag on Google Maps (23.604633,54.750256.) and is one place where you are sure to see something mesmerizing in the sky. Free. Open 24 hours, 7 days a week. Abu Dhabi. Shuweihat Island If you are interested in seeing a place that looks spectacular day or night then Shuweihat Island is a must. Around a four-hour drive from Dubai, you'll find salt flats and serenity. A 4×4 car is recommended when visiting. Free. Shuwaihat island. Hatta Hajar mountain location Hatta, which is just an hour and a half away from Dubai, can be a good spot to see the night sky but you should be aware that the area does suffer from light pollution. In the cooler months, there's plenty to do in the area from exploring Hatta Wadi Hub and Hatta Dam to looking around Hatta Heritage Village. Other activities it's known for are hiking and mountain biking. If you want to make a trip of it there are also options to camp, glamp or stay in a hotel. Free. Hatta. Looking for other things to do?
