‘What a waste': Netizens slam John Cena's short match at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event
WWE Saturday Night's Main Event: John Cena defeated R-Truth in a short but eventful match at Saturday Night's Main Event. The contest saw 'The Franchise Player' use underhanded tactics to vanquish his 53-year-old opponent. Several netizens took to social media to express their views about Cena's latest appearance and most of them were not too impressed by what happened at the event.
Fans express disappointment with John Cena's match
R-Truth took on John Cena at Saturday Night's Main Event in a match that many were looking forward to. The former 24X7 champion entered the arena dressed as the Cenation Leader, who he considers his 'childhood hero'.
A surprised Cene mounted some offence on him before the veteran turned the tide and nailed The Marine actor with his own trademark moves. Cena eventually tried to hit Truth with the Undisputed title but hesitated. The referee then removed the belt. This gave Cena an opportunity to nail him with a low blow and pick up the win. After the match, Cena hit Truth with the belt. Netizens were not too impressed by the way the contest played out.
One of them said that it was a 'waste' of the limited appearances Cena has left in his career.
What a waste of an appearance for cena!!! 😭
Another one said that not only the match but the entire heel run has been 'lacklustre'.
WWE has dropped the ball so hard with Cena's heel turn. I can't believe how lackluster its been so far
More fans echoed similar sentiments
Is his heel turn really just wasting the fans time and making the product look like a joke? Is this the endgame? Because this has been the most retarded thing I've ever seen from WWE
Waste of time.
The feud between R-Truth and Cena started when the current Undisputed Champion put his 'fan' through a table during the post-event press conference for Backlash.
Cena tried to cost Jey Uso his title
Later in the night, Cena interfered in Jey Uso's match against Logan Paul and tried to cost 'The Yeet Master' his World Heavyweight title. However, things did not go as planned as Cody Rhodes returned to WWE programming and hit his WrestleMania 41 opponent with Cross Rhodes.
