7 Desi-Style Pizzas To Satisfy Your Rainy Day Cravings

NDTV21-07-2025
Is pizza your go-to comfort food when monsoon blues hit? If yes, we can relate. There's something about the cheese-tomato-bread combo that is especially satisfying on rainy days. If you want to take your satisfaction a notch higher, why not choose flavourful, spice-laden toppings? This is why desi-style pizzas have always been so popular. They go beyond the basics and offer fun fusion flavours that excite our taste buds. If you're wondering what kind of Indian-inspired pizzas are worth trying, here are some of our top suggestions:
Here Are 7 Desi-Style Pizzas To Enjoy On A Rainy Day
1. Paneer Tikka Pizza
This is an all-time favourite pizza option among vegetarians. The smokiness and spiciness of the paneer tikka pair well with stringy cheese and the tangy tomato sauce base. Along with pieces of paneer, this pizza is generally topped with onions and capsicum. If your mouth is already watering, order this pizza online soon.
In a rush? Can't cook?
2. Achari Paneer Pizza
If you love achari (pickle-style) flavours, achari paneer pizza is a must-try. It has a specific type of tartness that may remind you of homely comfort or street-style indulgence. Either way, it's a great pick for a rainy day meal.
3. Masala Veg Pizza
This type of pizza has many names and variations on restaurant menus. The exact veggies used may differ. Common ones are onions, capsicum, corn, zucchini, etc. Paneer may or may not be added. The basic idea is that the toppings are spiced with desi-style masalas, which gives the pizza a chatpata upgrade.
4. Butter Chicken Pizza
Love pizza and butter chicken? Why not combine the two for the ultimate feast? Nowadays, many restaurants have started featuring butter chicken pizzas on their menus. This fusion dish works because the rich creaminess of the popular North Indian gravy complements pizza as a cheesy bread.

5. Tandoori Chicken Pizza
If you want a less experimental desi-style pizza with chicken, choose tandoori chicken pizza. It's become a classic and is often served at parties. The juicy pieces of chicken infused with tandoori spices are a topping that rarely disappoints. Add extra cheese to the mix, and it becomes the stuff of foodie dreams!
6. Chicken Kebab Pizza
Sausage is a popular pizza topping around the world. But in India, why would we choose sausage if kebab is an option? You can find various types of chicken kebab pizzas on food delivery apps. Different kinds of kebabs can be chopped and added as toppings. They lend a distinct smoky flavour that is irresistible.
7. Keema Pizza
Another non-veg pizza with desi flavours you should not miss is keema pizza. Chicken or Mutton mince may be used for this topping. The juicy texture of the keema takes this treat to the next level. Since keema pizzas are generally spicy, they are a wonderful solution for monsoon cravings.

Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap give their marriage another chance, Saina says "Trying again...'

Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap On July 13, Olympic medallist Saina Nehwal shocked her fans and followers when she announced her separation from her husband and fellow badminton star Parupalli Kashyap. However, within weeks of being separated from each other, looks like the couple has now decided to make things work out in their marriage for the better. Surprising their fans yet again, Saina took to Instagram today and shared a photo with her husband. In the picture, Saina and her husband Parupalli Kashyap can be seen vacationing together. Her caption read, 'Sometimes distance teaches you the value of presence. Here we are— trying again.' The post was simple, yet deeply moving — a quiet but powerful statement of love and reconciliation. Just weeks earlier, on July 13, Saina had announced their separation, writing a heartfelt note on Instagram: 'Life takes us in different directions sometimes. After much thought and consideration, Kashyap and I have decided to part ways. We're choosing peace, growth, and healing for ourselves and each other. I am grateful for the memories and wish nothing but the best moving forward.' The announcement came as a shock to fans and the sporting community, as Saina and Kashyap have long been seen as a power couple — not just in Indian badminton, but in life. As per reports, the duo also lived in the same locality and their families knew about their love for each other. In 2018, after dating each other for over a decade the duo got married in an intimate wedding ceremony. It was on December 16, 2018 when Saina and Kashyap surprised everyone by announcing their hush-hush wedding with a beautiful picture from their big day. 'Best match of my life #justmarried," read Saina's caption back then. Talking about her relationship with her husband Kashyap, Saina had revealed in an earlier interview with TOI, 'We started travelling for bigger tours from 2007-08 onwards. We played tournaments together, trained together and slowly, started paying more attention to each other's matches. In the competitive world that we live in, it is difficult to get close to someone. But somehow we both found it very easy to talk to each other, talk about our matches. The feeling gradually grew.' Now with both Saina and Kashyap trying to give their marriage a second chance, the couple reminds us all that even the strongest relationships can go through testing times — but sometimes, love does find its way back. Kothari Industrial Corporation acquires footwear brands Zodiz, Jeetlo

Chennai-based Kothari Industrial Corporation Ltd. (KICL), the flagship company of the D.C. Kothari group, has acquired Zodiz, Jeetlo and other associated sub-brands in the footwear field. The acquisition of Zodiz, Jeetlo and associated sub-brands will come into effect from August 4, 2025, the company said. Zodiz is owned by Zaimus Trends Private Ltd., a company based in Coimbatore. Jeetlo Footwear is another Indian footwear brand known for affordable, trendy shoes and sandals. It has a strong presence on leading Indian e-commerce platforms, the company said. These brands cater to the price- and quality-conscious mass market, offering products below ₹1,000 per pair — a segment that accounts for nearly 80% of the Indian footwear consumption, valued at ₹80,000–85,000 crore annually, it said. This acquisition gives KICL an immediate foothold in one of the fastest-growing and underserved consumer segments, the company said. 'Our business strategy will be distribution-led, targeting Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities — India's emerging urban hubs where the appetite for affordable fashion is on the rise,' said Jinnah Rafiq Ahmed, Executive Chairman, KICL. KICL is deeply into the non-leather footwear field having set up a non-leather footwear park in the backward district of Perambalur in Tamil Nadu. It has already tied up foreign makers of iconic brands such as Kickers, Adidas and the like.
