,' most fans point to

Inside Steve Kerr's Michael Jordan-Curry Mindset Connection
On the 'Glue Guys' podcast, Steve Kerr surprised many by naming Curry - not LeBron - as
's closest counterpart. His reasoning wasn't based purely on stats or trophies. Instead, Kerr focused on the rare mindset they share.
'Michael had a similar mindset, but Michael's mindset appeared to be more of a desire to kill an opponent, to just stick the knife in and twist it. Steph is more about the joy of the act of shooting the ball.
That's what makes it so beautiful to watch Steph,' Kerr said.
Different Styles, Same Competitive Fire
Steve Kerr shares the lessons that earned him 9 NBA championships
Kerr stressed that his comparison isn't about dominance through intimidation versus skill. Both Jordan and
inspire and elevate their teams, but in different ways:
• Jordan: Relentless, cutthroat competitor who thrived on breaking opponents' will.
• Curry: Energizes the game with joy, creativity, and unshakable self-belief.
Killer vs. Creator: The Key Difference
According to Kerr:
• Jordan: Asserted himself as the clear dominant force in any arena.
• Curry: Blends grace and flow with fierce competitiveness, using rhythm and confidence to take over games.
Why Steve Kerr Doesn't Put LeBron in Jordan's Category
has great respect for LeBron, calling him and Jordan 'the two best players I've ever witnessed.' But he believes LeBron's style aligns more with Scottie Pippen - a versatile, all-around forward - rather than Jordan's alpha-killer mentality.
Curry's Lasting Impact on the Game
Beyond championships, Curry has reshaped basketball. His influence on the three-point revolution and his unique approach to competition put him in rare company.

Boston Celtics sold to Bill Chisholm-led consortium in huge NBA deal
For the largest price ever paid for an American professional sports team, a consortium led by private equity mogul Bill Chisholm will take at least 51 percent control of Boston Celtics, the most successful franchise in the history of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The NBA has approved the sale for a record sum of $6.1 billion, and Chisholm will get full control in 2028, when the total valuation of the deal could come to $7.3 billion. Previous owner Wyc Grousbeck led the ownership group that bought the Celtics in 2002 for $360 million. However, it's the second-largest sale price for a US sports franchise, behind the $10 billion valuation for the Los Angeles Lakers when Mark Walter, the CEO of Guggenheim Partners, purchased that team in June, but it's not yet clear how much the new buyer will own. Chisholm is the managing partner of California-based Symphony Technology Group. The new ownership group also includes Boston businessmen Rob Hale, who is a current Celtics shareholder, and Bruce Beal Jr, according to the Associated Press. Chisholm outbid at least two other groups, one led by previous Celtics minority partner Steve Pagliuca. 'The NBA Board of Governors has unanimously approved the sale of the controlling interests in the Boston Celtics to an investor group led by Bill Chisholm,' the NBA said in a statement. 'The transaction is expected to close shortly.' The league's ratification came five months after the deal was agreed. Grousbeck is expected to serve as alternate governor and remain the CEO of the franchise through 2028. He will cease to remain in the role when he no longer has the required ownership stake of at least 15 percent. The previous record for a US sports franchise was the US$6.05 billion paid for the National Football League's Washington Commanders two years ago. The record price for an NBA team was the US$4 billion mortgage firm owner Mat Ishbia paid for the Phoenix Suns in 2023. The Celtics have won a record 18 NFL championships, the most recent of which came in 2024, defeating Dallas Mavericks in the finals. They won eight consecutive titles from 1959 to 1966, and after a break of one year, clinched back-to-back titles in 1968 and 1969. Bill Russell was the cornerstone of this dominance. Some of their other famous players in subsequent years include Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Robert Parish in the 1980s and Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett in the 2000s.

'I'm saving myself...' - 7ft 2in tall Atlanta Hawks star Kristaps Porzingis expresses hidden aspiration to pursue MMA
7ft 2in tall Atlanta Hawks star Kristaps Porzingis expresses hidden aspiration to pursue MMA (Image Credit: Getty Images) NBA stars may have aspirations beyond basketball, too. Atlanta Hawks center forward Kristaps Porzingis recently expressed special interest in MMA. He said that he is 'saving himself for the sport' and aims to pursue this sport after signing off from the NBA. Porzingis also talked about his endorsements and other engagements beyond basketball, which are keeping him busy this offseason. While other NBA stars like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Dwyane Wade have shown deep interest in golf, Porzingis' fascination with MMA is quite interesting. Atlanta Hawks star Kristaps Porzingis revealed his MMA aspirations after NBA Can Kristaps Porzingis be another shining star in MMA? If Porzingis' plans go as desired, the answer can be 'yes.' In a recent interview, the 7ft 2in tall Atlanta Hawks star revealed an unknown aspiration that he nurses in his heart. He said: 'MMA is a sport that is very close to my heart. Number one in terms of viewing. It is something that I am passionate about, which is why I decided to participate in a new MMA project. Everything is still in progress – when we get closer to the final result, I will be able to tell you more.' While talking about other sports that he was inclined to during the summer, Porzingis talked at length about MMA. He shared: 'This summer I played a little tennis and padel tennis - very good sports in the summer, especially in the fresh air. I have also tried my hand at MMA, but I promised one of the clubs I represented that I would not do it during my career. I am "saving myself up" to start an MMA career after the bass (laughs).' (as translated from the Latvian site, Sportacentrs) Prozingis' MMA aspirations came as a big surprise. He is right in planning his life after the NBA, as he has played nine seasons in the league, and may need an alternative once he hangs up his sneakers. Kristaps Porzingis shared how he is spending his offseason Unlike many NBA stars who are immersed neck-deep in brand endorsement activities, Kristaps Porzingis has kept limited offers in hand. Talking about his offseason endeavors, Porzingis said: 'I haven't participated in any commercials this summer. I'm becoming picky, I try to do only things that I really like. If anyone has an interesting offer - feel free to contact my people." Porzingis has a contract with Adidas in hand. He shared how things are going with this shoe brand and what is expected from him in his current deal. He said: 'The new contract is down to earth in terms of the duties described. You only have to do the bare minimum. It's not like in the New York days, when they wanted to send me on promotional trips to China. Now I'm in the second half of my career, with a different vision - (off the field) I want to do less, so a shoe contract is not a big deal.' Kristaps also shot for 'Gamepatch' and is in agreement with 'Citadeles', a cooperative bank, as told to Sportscentrs. He said that he is associating only with those brands that align with his vision and have something exciting to offer. Moving to another sport is not new in the NBA world. Michael Jordan took a break and tried his hand at baseball. LeBron James is often seen sharpening his golf skills, whereas Stephen Curry is already a seasoned golf player. Aside from these stars, Porzingis' MMA aspirations certainly hit different. It will be interesting to see how things shape up for 'The Unicorn.' LeBron James to Warriors along with his son? Analyst proposes potential trade option
Amid recent speculation of NBA icon LeBron James's future at the Los Angeles Lakers, now that the focus has shifted towards Luka Doncic, Sports Illustrated's Dan Angell has pitched a trade idea recently. LeBron James throws the ball back to a referee as he attends a 2025 NBA Summer League game between the Lakers and the New Orleans Pelicans.(Getty Images via AFP) Angell proposed that the Lakers could trade father-son duo LeBron and Bronny James to the Golden State Warriors in return for Jimmy Butler and a 2028- first-round pick. 'The Lakers really don't love the idea of taking on Jimmy Butler's contract, especially with LeBron's contract due to expire at the end of the 2025-26 season,' he wrote. 'They want to be free of LeBron's contract, but there's no way to do that before the end of 2026 without taking equal value back.' What's in it for the Lakers? Under the current proposal, picking a 2028 first-round pick could give the team a better chance at constructing a new roster under the banner of Luka Doncic. Butler, in turn, could provide the necessary short-term returns needed for him to continue on. What's in it for the Warriors? The most obvious in-point for the Warriors would be the power of having James and his long-time friend Stephen Curry on the same team: an instance that multiple analysts have been predicting recently. Despite being younger than James in years, he could still fill the slot of being the third star well enough. Originally acquired from the Miami Heat, Butler helped the Warriors claim their No. 7 seed after winning the Play-In game. By Stuti Gupta
