Hyundai i20 gets new variant
The Hyundai i20 lineup has recently undergone a revision with the introduction of a new variant - the Magna Executive. This new variant is priced at ₹ 7.51 lakh (ex-showroom). Furthermore, Hyundai is providing the iVT transmission and an electric sunroof in the Magna variant of this premium hatchback. In the meantime, the Sportz (O) variant of the i20 is now outfitted with numerous premium features, such as a smart key with push-button start, a smart electric sunroof, and a Bose premium seven-speaker audio system, among others. With all these enhancements, the Hyundai i20 has emerged as the most affordable CVT hatchback in India following the latest updates.
The Hyundai i20 offers two transmission options - a five-speed manual gearbox and an iVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission). The iVT essentially represents a form of continuously variable transmission (CVT) that provides the ease of clutchless dual pedal technology. Matter Aera gets lifetime battery warranty
The Indian electric two-wheeler startup, Matter, has launched a lifetime warranty for the battery of its electric motorcycle, the Matter Aera. The company asserts that this is the first instance of such a warranty being provided in India's electric two-wheeler market. This initiative aims to address the second most significant concern for electric vehicle owners—battery longevity and the costs associated with battery replacement.
The battery, which represents the most costly component of an electric vehicle, will be guaranteed for the entire lifespan of the Aera. Generally, electric vehicle batteries are accompanied by warranties that last between three to eight years. A lifetime warranty represents a substantial shift from this norm and could influence how riders assess the long-term ownership costs.

These principles are integral to Toyota's global standing for providing vehicles that not only endure but also perform reliably and maintain their value over time.
Earlier this year, the Toyota Fortuner Legender 4X4 manual transmission variant was introduced with a starting price of ₹ 46.36 lakh, ex-showroom. Oil prices to stay around $65/barrel: Hardeep Puri

New Delhi: Oil prices will hover around $65 per barrel as ample supplies are available in the market, Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has said. 'My sense is that with more supplies becoming available, prices will be close to $65, not $80 per barrel,' Puri told an industry gathering on Friday. International benchmark Brent has been oscillating between $60 and $66 for a month amid increasing supplies from the producer group OPEC+ and rising demand uncertainties due to the US tariff war. High spare production capacity is weighing on the oil market, Puri said. 'Even when there are disruptions, the market knows that more supply is available,' he added, noting that one has to be 'intelligent' in using the opportunity provided by low oil prices. 'Obviously, when you have strategic reserves, you want to fill them up when the price is low.' The government has allocated ?5,600 crore in this year's budget to fill the nation's part-empty Strategic Petroleum Reserves (SPR). Puri said global supplies could further rise in the future if sanctions are lifted on Iran and Russia. 'I'm optimistic that, at some stage, the [sanctions] issue will be resolved. Iran will become a major supplier again,' he said, adding that Russia could also ramp up production. Iran accounted for a tenth of India's crude imports until 2018, when the reimposition of US sanctions shut it out of the Indian market. The US is currently renegotiating with Iran to strike a deal that would lift sanctions in return for Tehran's promise to halt its nuclear weapons programme.

DGCA grants IndiGo 3-month extension on Turkish airlines wet lease agreement

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has approved a three-month extension for IndiGo's wet lease agreement with Turkish Airlines, allowing the carrier to continue operating two Boeing 777 aircraft on the Delhi and Mumbai to Istanbul routes beyond the previous May 31 deadline. This decision comes as diplomatic tensions rise between India and Turkiye, particularly following Turkiye's vocal support for Pakistan during recent conflicts. In a related move, the Indian government also revoked the security clearance of Turkish ground handling company Celebi, further straining bilateral relations, according to an ET report. IndiGo, India's largest airline by market share, had requested a six-month extension under the revised policy that permits wet leases for six months, extendable by another six months subject to regulatory approval. The airline had originally leased the wide-body aircraft in November 2023 to mitigate capacity constraints caused by the grounding of several Airbus A320neo aircraft, due to issues with Pratt & Whitney engines. The Boeing 777s, wet-leased from Turkish Airlines, each accommodate up to 500 passengers and have played a critical role in supporting IndiGo's international network, especially its long-haul routes. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Cinnamon: The Greatest Enemy Of Blood Sugar (See How To Use It) bloghealthnet Learn More Undo IndiGo has justified the lease extension by citing the benefits to Indian travellers and its ambitions to grow in the long-haul segment. The airline recently confirmed plans to build its own wide-body fleet, with Airbus A350-900 aircraft deliveries set to begin in 2027. 'Flights between India and Türkiye are governed within the bilateral air service agreement. We are compliant today and we will continue to comply with any government regulations on those lines,' said Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo, on Friday. While the DGCA has allowed the extension under provisions that support temporary wet leasing in emergent situations, the regulator has expressed caution about prolonged reliance on such arrangements, reiterating the importance of Indian airlines developing indigenous wide-body capabilities. 'As the aviation industry navigates complex geopolitical landscapes, the DGCA's decision underscores the delicate balance between operational needs and national interests. The extension provides IndiGo with a temporary solution to its capacity challenges while the airline progresses towards establishing its own wide-body operations,' a government official said.
